Mercys damage boost is really odd with overwatch 2 heroes. Sojourn and ramattras projectiles can both be damage boosted at any point of their time span. So basically if sojourn or ram throw their snares, if you damage boost them at any point, the snare will have the damage boost. Doesn't follow the rules of ashe dynamite or junkrat mine that must be boosted on creation. I play Mercy a lil too much.
Maybe because they are active effects they are kinda ongoing, but junk mine and dynamite are one time effects, with dynamite just applying burn, not being something that can go on and off and on, like ram and sojourn

Also how Ramattra’s Pummel is supposed to be a ‘piercing’ wave that goes through Dva’s Defense Matrix and Sigma’s Grasp, yet is nullified by Genji’s deflect and (iirc) completely destroyed by Orisa’s Javelin Spin, and both abilities clearly state to exclusively interact with projectiles…..but so does Defense Matrix and Grasp…..and Pummel is supposed to be a piercing ‘wave’, not a projectile…??? The math is not mathing.

I think the tire doesent heal the junkrat, because the tire itself is probably in the same category as Bob. Its a player entity. Controllable. It is its own thing. I bet the turret inherits the same. Though interesting to know.
Junkrat doesn't get healing with riptire because when he is ulting, he is controlling riptire (that counts as a different hero) so killing with it won't grant healing to another hero (in this case junkrat)
Mercy beam used to work like lifesteal back in Overwatch 1 days where damage buff would be applied as they dealt the damage then was later changed to per projectile shot
I think if they just swapped his ultimate cage match with his overdrive ability would be a more interesting to take him so imagine his second ability was just the cage part and used as a shield barrier but with a catch, any enemies that are inside or go inside the barrier at any point cant escape, but mauga teammates can go in and out but cant shoot inside while outside and so the only way to get rid of it for enemies would be to destroy it (give it like 600-800 hp) or if the maulga who cast it is killed or it times out. I would also make it a little shorter vertically since enemies whike stuck in there would still have all there movement possibles since no more chains so while a barrier yes it would have a its own unique uses like trapping fleeing enemies or blocking long range support for a enemy forcing there teamates to push in. It could even kind of maybe work as what rammatra vortex was suppose to do lol but yeah then just make overdrive his ultimate but give him unlimited ammo still and maybe a speed buff These changes i think would give maulga more choices as a actuall tank players and limiting his health regen to 2 or 3 time a game instead of mutiple times a team battle as i think you already got self healing tank in hog and in fact you even got one who uses enemies dmg to heal w junkerqueen who is more damage over top but still feel kinda lazy for maulga and extremely one note
to explain the tire, its likely not a hero entity. bob and bomb are both hero entities, though bomb comes with some caveats, bomb CAN be nanoed, but only when fired during nano. the best way to put it, is bomb is like mei's cryofreeze, where its still a hero entity, but it cannot be interacted with directly. and the damage is linked to d.va, not the bomb, obviously so d.va gets kill credit.
I wonder how it would work with bleed since from the experiments you did, one would guess it would work and junket queen would just heal an obscene amount from it since it’s just if the character does damage while under cardiac overdrive
The junkrat tyre thing probably works like that coz his tyre is treates as another player character thing like bob(you can see it through walls when on your team and you cant for torb turret) and it doesnt heal itself coz it has a value that means it cannot recieve healing at all(ana or other supports cannot heal it) Thats my guess from my knowledge (Oops read the rest of comments, ppl already kinda said this lol)
If the turrets are healing Sym and Torb, that's it both of them are Busted if they got Mauga in their team. You can imagine the community is boiling if that happen.
I’m a bit disappointed that they used the team lifesteal ability and the “unstoppable object” concept on Mauga. It might be just me, but I don’t find his design and character that interesting. I see the team lifesteal more fit for an edgier, Moira-like tank or a caring parent figure tank (Mama Hong) similar in personality to Lifeweaver or Mercy, and though abilities don’t always make sense logically and lore wise, I don’t see how his hearts beating can heal his allies. For the unstoppable force concept, I would have liked it more on a scientist character, though honestly, they should have found a way to make Doomfist work as the “unstoppable force” character without making him too OP, as he’s Orisa’s archenemy and she already has an unmovable object ability.
Honestly speaking, cardiac overdrive makes morai and reaper broken, they heal with some passives they have and then get additional heals from overdrive
it's actually the passive that breaks the character (the life steal also to an extent) because it only incentivises him to hit as many shots as possible, rather than hit key targets, so he is most effective just shooting big targets. I think the passive of getting over-health from crits would suit a DPS way more than a tank character, but if they had to fix it, then I would say he should only be granted over-health when he kills a burning target. This would mean he wouldn't be rewarded for shooting tanks if he can't kill them and he would be rewarded more for going after squishy targets.
I think it’s the combination of both the passive and overdrive. He can just shoot the enemy tank to farm overhealth, and by the time it’s depleted he can use overdrive to heal himself back up to full. I think your idea with the burning target kill is good, maybe also decrease the amount of damage that’s converted to overhealth to 35% - 50% instead of 60% and give home less base armour. He’s shirtless and has 50 more armour than Winston who’s fully covered in armour.
i think the moira orb is programmed like that intentionally, it probably subtracts exactly the amount that it deals from the orb's total health, because they only want it to ever deal 200
If people know this information, most of the player didn't say "x" character is OP , just because you know how to use bonus , boost in certain situation

it seems to me that for the most part, damage boost is a projectile buff, cardiac is a player buff
Ashes fire bomb has to have a mercy dmg boost the whole time or it goes back to normal dmg per second

actually you can damage boost dva bomb if you nano a baby dva when she drops the bomb
it doesn't actually boost the damage though, it just messes up her damage mitigation stat to -5,000,000, but I think that got patched.
