Ending animation context as far as I know/understand: Bajie was a Marshal in heaven, fell in love with a woman (first seen in the ending animation) and he found out that that woman is having an affair with Jade Emperor (the dude with silver hair) and thus Jade Emperor banished Bajie to Earth and cursed him into a ugly bastard pig demon to keep his mouth shut about he affair. Another woman fell in love with Bajie and followed him to Earth and become a Spider demon, met him, and had a relationship with him for a while. Fast forward, into the Journey to The West arc, Wukong and the gang (Bajie was one of his party members) was ordered to kill 7 Spider sisters to continue their journey, one of the 7 Spider sisters is the woman that fell in love with Bajie (Violet Spider/old Spider in the game). Bajie, spared the Violet Spider because they still loved each other. The Violet Spider then ate the corpses of her other 6 sisters in order to survive and secure her hatchlings (the young ladies in the game). Violet Spider and Bajie continue their relationship in secret, thus born the youngest daughtee of the Violet Spider (the lil sister spider in the game), but then Bajie cut ties left the spider family and pretend to not know them all in order to keep them save from Heaven's suspicion.

The needle requires a little hustle since there isn’t a map to see where you’re going. I wanted to see whether other people were having the same issue with the boss bc it made no sense to have a combo of attacks going and only 2-3 hits land while being close by
The way that little girl looks at Pigsy and how Pigsy looks at her reminds me of a absent dad look at their child they made with someone with no love in mind. For if this story takes place 1 hundred years after jounrey to the west, all of these spiders women are his kids. Pigsy is basically the deadbeat dad that didn't come home for his family instead for something far more important than them.

well like all bosses his story is tied to journey to the west. had to look up the story itself as well but basically, when the last wukong was on his travels he and his master were caught in this dudes trap. long story short he actually beats wukong and forces him to ask a demi-rooster immortal (yes that is real lore) for help and she defeats this dude. all of the sisters of the old lady died because he wanted immortality rather than save them as well. but in essence he's just a centipede with big pie in the sky dreams. sad they didnt animate the 100 eyes on his ribs though
this game is so deep with history and culture, as a asian man, I rank this game is the current GOAT for me. especially if you read the novel first before you play.

Bros first phase isn't even that bad but it's that lame ass second phase, I hate how they think its a good addition to permanently nerf the player for the entirety of the phase
There is a secret item that you can get which disrupts the second phase. In this game, you benefit a lot from exploring and doing side storyline. I did have to watch a video to figure this out though, but such is the case in any souls game.

Although Bajie was lover of spider girl, he fell from heaven and being punished by bearing the current look of a boar, simply because he chased after Taiyin Xingjun (which you saw Bajie running in the anime), and he was accused by the celestial court that he harrased Taiyin Xingjun. While for spider girl, she was not a spider monster up in the celestial court at the first place, but I guessed being an insignificant maiden serving the celestial court, it was forbidden to have romantic relationship (as celestial court treated them as "subjects" only), so she was punished, exiled from the court and bearing her current spider form. So fallen from grace, spider girl will think Bajie return to her, but Baijie was already in the journey to the west and did not return to her. Probably the decades were passed (you know even monsters live longer than human), that's why you see that bitter feeling for missing the one you loved and made sacrifice for him, has driven spider girl from love to hate (the gameplay which the chosen one fights against the spider girl) Basically, the love story between Bajie and Spider girl was so damn cursed, but it is, on the other hand, extremely tragic.

I don’t care if people didn’t like it. I thought Daoist Master was such a badass. He fought 4 giant spiders and the destined one at once. Then went all Hoarah Loux barehand at the end. Like he was such a badass villain. What exactly was his lore?
I think the second phase is why people hate him so much, it is borderline impossible to avoid his attacks. It feels like they just made it way too hard for no reason. even with the needle it’s still really tough.

I hate when I’m hitting this guy. My attacks hit nothing but air. It’s definitely a design issue with this character. Heavy attacks miss very often because of it.

This boss is literally a joke. Hitting him just feels like you're sneezing on him instead with the amount of damage. Second phase got me wanting to just stop playing lmfao. They really gave the bosses too much health too the point where it's not hard, it's just fking boring.
I wasted 2 hrs of my time on the Chapter 2 final boss because of that. This one is worst because my hits are ass, like honestly who designed the hitboxes of this enemy need to go to jail. Even with the needle I needed to try 3 times because I am a greedy mf which gets mad when I see I am not hitting him 🤣 Overall it took me like 7 tries this shitty boss
Pieces of Wukong's body split and crafted into Relics. Everyone of note in this mythology is a shapeshifter, his body being metaphorical artifacts isn't too strange.
I can't believe you can kill him in golden form. It's almost impossible for me that I have to go do the side quest to get the needle to detranform him.
I managed to, but I had to master his moveset and the mechanics of the fight like it was a Souls game to do so. Still, I would SERIOUSLY appreciate being able to deal more damage, have attacks connect that CLEARLY connected, and getting rid of the halved stamina in second phase. Other than those things, this boss is damn near perfect.
It is a bit of confused here. The first part about why centipede youkai fight the spider youkai?( because in the cannon story they are brother/sister). And the last story, it is even more confused! Ba jie got pubished due to loving the goddess. He was punished tobecome a pig but still remain a bit of power. So he just use his power to come man. But due to sad event his love know he is a youkai not real man. But i dont know why bajie here love a young youkai spider..

The Jade Emperor and Taiyin Xingjun were caught in a secret meeting by bajie and demoted to earth. Chang'e, who was obsessed with bajie, descended to earth and became a spider spirit. Bajie, who was demoted to earth, saw Gao Cuilan in Gao Laozhuang, thinking it was Chang'e and chased him. Unexpectedly, Gao Cuilan was so frightened when she saw Bajie's true body. During the walk west passing by Pansi Cave, the reincarnated purple spider (Change E) recognized bajie at a glance. The two fell in love, and Bajie also released the purple spider in this calamity. The purple spider had Bajie's daughter and waited for Bajie until he grew old. Man I've been having trouble with him and the crazy hitbox but it appeared it was due to using the spear stance and using the spear combo was the issue, pillar stance 1st try i finished him
I haven’t needed to go online for help and I try to avoid it. Do it myself ya know but this boss feels impossible to me. I’ve tried so many different builds and he just 1 bangs me in the final 25% of his health bar.

If you play souls game like Sekiro, elden ring, bloodborne etc, then this game won't be that hard. This is chapter 4 final boss, incredibly tanky. Some bosses are easy, some are a pain. You can respec for free a much as you want, find secret boss for abilities that make fighting bosses easier.
The second easiest final boss. I got the golden needle and used it too early and I still beat him. Of course I got the Loong transformation and the lightning attack is just ruthless.

I don’t care if people didn’t like it. I thought Daoist Master was such a badass. He fought 4 giant spiders and the destined one at once. Then went all Hoarah Loux barehand at the end. Like he was such a badass villain.
What exactly was his lore?
I think the second phase is why people hate him so much, it is borderline impossible to avoid his attacks. It feels like they just made it way too hard for no reason. even with the needle it’s still really tough.

I hate when I’m hitting this guy. My attacks hit nothing but air. It’s definitely a design issue with this character. Heavy attacks miss very often because of it.

this is so far hardest boss i've encountered 😢 took me an hour to beat him and just realized you can remove that debuff on phase 2 by doing side quests 😭

This boss is literally a joke.
Hitting him just feels like you're sneezing on him instead with the amount of damage. Second phase got me wanting to just stop playing lmfao. They really gave the bosses too much health too the point where it's not hard, it's just fking boring.

The second phase for this guy is insane and i'm not using the needle cause it's gonna ruin the fun out of it.
I wasted 2 hrs of my time on the Chapter 2 final boss because of that. This one is worst because my hits are ass, like honestly who designed the hitboxes of this enemy need to go to jail.
Even with the needle I needed to try 3 times because I am a greedy mf which gets mad when I see I am not hitting him 🤣
Overall it took me like 7 tries this shitty boss
Just beat him without it my spirit head slam came through at the end to finish him off

I can't believe you can kill him in golden form. It's almost impossible for me that I have to go do the side quest to get the needle to detranform him.
I almost beat him without the needle, just about 10% left of his hp until he smacked my ass.
I don't know how i beat this boss in my 2nd attempt.Duskveil kicked my ass at least 30 times before i finally defeated him and got the needle.

I managed to, but I had to master his moveset and the mechanics of the fight like it was a Souls game to do so. Still, I would SERIOUSLY appreciate being able to deal more damage, have attacks connect that CLEARLY connected, and getting rid of the halved stamina in second phase. Other than those things, this boss is damn near perfect.

It is a bit of confused here. The first part about why centipede youkai fight the spider youkai?( because in the cannon story they are brother/sister).
And the last story, it is even more confused! Ba jie got pubished due to loving the goddess. He was punished tobecome a pig but still remain a bit of power. So he just use his power to come man. But due to sad event his love know he is a youkai not real man. But i dont know why bajie here love a young youkai spider..

Man I've been having trouble with him and the crazy hitbox but it appeared it was due to using the spear stance and using the spear combo was the issue, pillar stance 1st try i finished him

I haven’t needed to go online for help and I try to avoid it. Do it myself ya know but this boss feels impossible to me. I’ve tried so many different builds and he just 1 bangs me in the final 25% of his health bar.

If you play souls game like Sekiro, elden ring, bloodborne etc, then this game won't be that hard. This is chapter 4 final boss, incredibly tanky. Some bosses are easy, some are a pain. You can respec for free a much as you want, find secret boss for abilities that make fighting bosses easier.

The second easiest final boss. I got the golden needle and used it too early and I still beat him. Of course I got the Loong transformation and the lightning attack is just ruthless.
