Terje Rypdal: "Transition" (Live, 2005)

Terje Rypdal and Iver Kleive (kbd) played a wonderful concert inside the famous mountain Romsdalshorn, 17 of July, 2005. The great hall of the Romsdalshorn Power Station was modified into a concert hall for the occasion.
This selected cut is "Transition", originally written for the norwegian performance of the theatre play "Buried Child" by Sam Shepard. In 1985 it was recorded for the ECM album "Chaser".

No other guitarist pulls at my heart strings in quite the same way as Terje Rypdal.... peaceful, dark and brooding, longing for something, noisy but in an impassioned way.... there’s just something so incredibly unique and special about his playing...
