    jungle is my fav DnB, started with it back in 98, song called Ner_Kor sm3.
    Found it on an old website back then, loaded it in Fasttracker II and that is how I got started with making electronic music.

    Hi, is an old analog mixer worth running a kick or a break through just for the sound? Like using the output of my interface into an analog mixer running hot for distortion and then back into the DAW/interface?

      @arcologies  4 месяца назад +5

      hi, yah i think it's worth it. like koncreteto mentioned above: analog clipping is superior. if you want to get a 90s mixer for it, you'll want to make sure you're getting one that has a nice distortion. the old 90s mackies are great for it; and can often be found for dirt cheap :)

    really outstanding tune!
    i recently picked up and old mackie mixer and motu interface myself and am interested in a hybrid setup like this-im curious how you approach your mixdowns, are you doing any mixing itb with the native mixer? i looked at the project file and saw that you had a drum bus, do you just have that routed to one of the stereo channels on the mixer, while the bass, pad, vocals etc are routed to channels 1-4?
    again this tune and your whole channel rocks and is a huge wealth of information, thanks for all that you do!

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  20 дней назад

      @@basilannrhodes3244 heya! Yup I will just route the drum bus to a channel, typically just a mono one. truly appreciate you checking out the channel and stuff, glad you’re getting some helpful info!

    • @basilannrhodes3244
      @basilannrhodes3244 20 дней назад

      @@arcologies rad! i noticed renoise only allows for stereo out routing so it’ll eat up two outputs on the motu, are you just hard panning those channels on the mixer?
      thanks so much for your genorosity with your time and knowledge!

    • @arcologies
      @arcologies  20 дней назад +1

      @@basilannrhodes3244 you can just hard pan them in renoise and have them output to a motu stereo pair. so renoise hard panned L is mono out to motu ch3 L into ch1 in the mixer.

      @arcologies  4 месяца назад

      hi there! thanks for checking it out :) the card reader has a Firewire 1394 card in it so that i can use the MOTU ultralite mk3 firewire sound card with it... the sound card has 10 outputs, and the firewire version can be found for super cheap. great option if you want a lot of outs on an old win/mac machine.
      that keyboard is an omx27 diy midi keyboard. it has a couple of built-in step sequencers, a mutable instrument grids sequencer, a euclidean sequencer, and some other cool things (chord keyboard, drum map keyboard)... a few nice programmable encoders too!

So much software is bloated with the same hideous, uninspired, flat UI these days… nice going back to the era of 2000s software… nostalgia ❤
