Deepest cut joke; when Goku says that Videl still has all her vital organs, Piccolo repeats, “All of them!?” with a weird cadence. This is a reference to a line in the original Dragon Ball where Goku survives getting blasted through the chest because Piccolo missed his organs too.
1. Videl and Gohan being turned into Batman and Superman is not something I thought I needed 2. I love the idea that Krillin and Yamcha are the ones who actively keep the group together. 3. Goten being Goku 2.0 is obvious but *priceless* 4. Majin Vegeta was done *perfectly* 5. Buu going from silly to menacing in a hearbeat is *spot on*
Lani hates that line because he feels like it's too early still in Vegeta's character arc for that. That's why the deleted seen of "Nope, still hate it."
“Even you, best buddy…” Lani went all out with the sacrifice scream, and that was something he always wanted to do as Vegeta for DBZA. And you gotta imagine how this felt for everyone that’s been following TFS for so long. It’s been over five years since they finished the Cell Saga, and even though they got burnt out making the series, the fact that we got this as something they did for TotallyNotMark’s review is more than we could every ask for from them, and we love them for it.
The amazing thing is that they can take jokes like the "Vegeta YES" recurring joke and still make the scene emotional. These bits were actually first released alongside a Dragon Ball Z review of the Buu Saga by Totally Not Mark so it didn't feel disjointed there, because those bits were sprinkled throughout Mark's rundown of the saga at the points that they're relevant.
It's very fitting that his last thought was for the people he grew to love, but his final words were in defiance of someone telling him not to do something

In a way the Buu Bits remind me of their Season 1, but with the more elegant writing abilities they developed over the years. Also as a bit of trivia, Krillin's ex and daughter both being called "Marron" was a coincidence in real life. Marron the girlfriend was a Toei-created Filler character while Marron the daughter was created by Toriyama for the original manga- and they both happened to name them "Marron", cause it means "chestnut". (Krillin/Kuririn contains "kuri", the Japanese word for chestnut) Lastly, because it amused me but it understandably flew over your head: At 14:14 Babidi says "Towa is going to be REALLY pissed at me... I always love Goku’s excited ‘Oh no.’ when Vegeta becomes Majin XD Also I don’t know if you both heard all of it, but when Buu ate Dabura, Babidi mentioned Towa being pissed at him before saying she’s barely canon. Towa is Dabura’s sister but she only appears in some of the DBZ games so that’s what that meant. When you all do watch part 2, there are deleted and extra scenes as well so please don’t miss them ^^ And the whole Krillin’s daughter, Marron, having the same name as his ex. Krillin’s ex was only in the anime and she didn’t appear in the manga. So she’s not technically named after her since she didn’t exist in the manga.
Friendly reminder that while we are behind here. Their Patreon is a far ahead so they prolly have already gone through most of if not all of Kai by now.
Congratulations on 65k, you guys deserve it and more. I dont quite remember if I commented this here or not, but about Marron (Ex of Krillin) and Maron (Krillin's daughter). Basically, Krillin name comes from a pun and some mixed word. Kuririn, in japanese, has "Kuri" which is the name of Chestnuts, roasted, they look bald like him, and the other "rin" is from Shaorin/Shaolin, because Krillin is a shaolin monk (retired as of the Buu part of the story). Marron is the name of a french dish that uses chestnut. Marron is sweet, and Kuri (roasted chestnut) its savory. The Marron got very popular in japan. You can see here that its an easy pun to make, when you have the context. So, what most likely happened is that the anime time, who made the "Krillin's girlfriend" filler arc used the pun first, and Akira Toriyama, the author of the manga comic either forgot about it or didnt care and just went ahead with that pun as well for Krillin's daughter. I think I have heard that the kanji characters are different and that Marron the daughter has a sappling or fruit pun somewhere as well, but im not sure. Given the weird structure of Japanese having "words" as "characters" when they write gives a lot of leeway for double, triple and quadruple puns. For example, another pun comes from Saiyans, or Saiya-jin. "Saiya" comes from the Japanese word "Yasai" which means vegetable in japanese. Then you have Raditz/Radish, Kakarot/Carrot, Broly/Broccoli, Turles/Lettuce, and so on and so forth, with their King/Prince being Vegeta(ble) Frieza's forces are usually named after fruit, like Cui/Kiwi, Dodoria/Durian, Appule/Apple. The Special Ginyu force have dairy names, like Guldo/Yogurudo/Yoghurt, Jeice/Cheese, Burter/Butter, Recoome/Cream and Ginyu being the word for Milk in Japanese, and he is milk, captain of dairy products. And all saiyans, all frieza forces and the Ginyus work under the Kitchen appliance where you keep all these things, the Freezer and the Cooler.
u guys really should watch vegeta's atonement from the original english, its only 10 mins ish but its something special with the dialogue and narration... probably the greatest moment in all of z
I definately recommend watching Totallynotmarks review of the Buu Saga when youre done watching it all. Its definitely a grind you'll have to segment into several videos but its definitely a good in depth analysis of the material and what it means or represents and even fills in a few gaps between the teamfourstarbits they did for him with interesting characterization and analysis for the review parts to lead up to the usual up to par TFS segments. You definitely wouldnt be disappointed on his introspective of the material. He also has such a nice charmingly adorable Irish accent that conveniently makes his video essays hard to put down.

@@illexpreshun Words right of my mouth, scott and lani have said multiple times in their commentaries that people should watch actual dragon ball first, but most just watch abridged smh
@Ulises_The_Jackal Yeah, really. Knowing og dragon ball informs all of the TFS comedic choices, deep cuts, etc. If you just watch this w/o it, it's like... What are you laughing at? Lol. Idk, ppl get the wrong idea about what dragon ball is by just watching abridged. And they don't get how truly great abridged is w/o og dragon ball.
They literally said at the beginning that they're only watching part 1 because they aren't finished with the Buu Saga yet. Seems like someone told them exactly where to stop so they should be fine.
You're watching this out of context. The reason it's just bits & pieces of random scenes is cause they run in sequence with Totally Not Mark's Buu saga retrospective. These skits weren't made to be stand alone offerings from TFS and shouldn't be judged as such. Watch Totally Mark's Buu Saga video for proper context.
Since you all enjoy DBZA so much, Final Fantasy Machineabridged is just as good. It's also by Team Four Star. Something else I would recommend is the series Clannad. It's mostly a slapstick comedy anime series. It's light-hearted for the most part, and it's exceptional. I would recommend the original Japanese voice acting over the English, though, due to a much better performance.
I hope y’all just hold off on watching part two. Watching part one is great cause y’all caught up to that point. But wait until you finish watching the rest of the Buu saga. Then watch part 2. Or else you’ll see spoilers lol 😅
Got a little scared, but then i read 'part 1' Krillin naming his daughter after his ex is actually more wordplay from Toriyama. Krillins' original name is Kuriren (back when localizing Japanese into English was new, mistranslations were more common). "Kuri" is a chestnut. Another Japanese word for chestnut is "Maron"
careful about rushing these reactions unless you already did of course. Goten was fun in this. totally calling em kakatot. wish there was more for 18, but hey. Vegeta won it as he does.
A fun little side thihng, notice Abridged skipped the other guys in Bobbidi's space ship. Yeah, everyone skips them, the videogames even skip those guys...honestly video games when doing the Buu saga tend to skip...most of the Buu Saga, almost immediately going to the end of it as I guess for games focused on fighting there isn't much else, but still the other characters from the tournament and ship could be used much like the games like to use random Frieza force soldiers, but I guess people just didn't care for them as much.
Fifteen years. Masako and Lani have been holding these screams for 15 years.

I love TFS, but it's annoying seeing ppl learn about dragon ball thru abridged first. It means so much less without the context of the original.
@@illexpreshun EXACTLY BRO
You guys should avoid these until you finish Z because there's major spoilers
The scenes in this they’ve already watched, pretty sure this is planned
They literally said at the beginning that they're only watching part 1 because they aren't finished with the Buu Saga yet. Seems like someone told them exactly where to stop so they should be fine.
Yall need to watch the video before talking
Maybe pay attention.
Love the batman theme playing behind Videl as she describes why she does what she does. Like Kirito, she just wants to be batman.
I was doing something else while browsing videos and as soon as I saw this reaction I dropped what I was doing and clicked on this!
That's a shame that the Krillin's daughter has the same name as his ex joke went completely over Bethany's head but at least Ken got it
You're watching this out of context.
Well damn i guess they couldn't wait longer, i feel u man😂😂
Since you all enjoy DBZA so much, Final Fantasy Machineabridged is just as good. It's also by Team Four Star. Something else I would recommend is the series Clannad. It's mostly a slapstick comedy anime series. It's light-hearted for the most part, and it's exceptional. I would recommend the original Japanese voice acting over the English, though, due to a much better performance.
I do agree with Ken team four Star's most recent video is a bit lack luster compared to their older work with DBZ abridged
Love the final
Vegeta no!
*VEGETA YEEEEEESSSSSSS!*
Great vid as always
I hope y’all just hold off on watching part two. Watching part one is great cause y’all caught up to that point. But wait until you finish watching the rest of the Buu saga. Then watch part 2. Or else you’ll see spoilers lol 😅
Got a little scared, but then i read 'part 1'
Krillin naming his daughter after his ex is actually more wordplay from Toriyama. Krillins' original name is Kuriren (back when localizing Japanese into English was new, mistranslations were more common). "Kuri" is a chestnut. Another Japanese word for chestnut is "Maron"
Not Japanese, maron is French.
Kuririn isn’t a mistranslation, that’s his actual name. That’s how they pronounce it in the japanese dub and everything
I agree with everyone else finish kai first before you watch the abridged versions your about to get to the best parts of the buu saga.
I think this is planned, they probably wanted to get through part 1 because it’s all the scenes they’ve watched already
"farewell, my Baby Boy"
careful about rushing these reactions unless you already did of course.
They probably wouldn’t even be watching kai if they had buu saga abridged 😂 they’re like damn 😂
Finally. Took them long enough.
Let's go 65K
Even after 7 year time skip Gohan still needs to work on dodging
Don't forget TFS deleted and experimental scenes
Once you guys finish Z, you should watch the older Death Battle of Kirby vs Buu. It's amazing.
The part that doesn’t make any sense to me is 17 and 18’s real name are lapis and lazuli but their mothers name was Marin?
Noooo. I was hoping yall would watch this after yall finished kai🥲🥲
Yeah, im really hoping that they finish kai first and then watch abridged after because they are about to get to the really good stuff.
Well this is just part one, im sure they won't watch part 2 until they finish the series
Little shamed that they didn't go much more into details about what is happening in this season for fans who haven't watched Dragonball Z.
Well yeah, they're called Buu Bits for a reason. They were part of TotallyNotMark's review of the Buu Saga.
TFS:there,we did buu
Now F**** off
hehe you didnt catch on to piccolos ''ALL OF THEM'' at the internal organ part...eh...thats a dragon ball original dub refrence
