I love to watch a reactor enjoying Tim's work as much as I have since discovering him on RUclips over a year ago. For more "sweet, no left turn" songs by Tim, I'd suggest The Aeroplane, I'll Take Lonely Tonight or Beauty. They are all deeply sincere and moving. I'd also recommend Play It Safe, which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the building of the Sydney Opera House. It's a bit more sarcastic than the other songs I've mentioned, but at it's heart is a serious message about taking risks in life. It also displays gorgeous cinematography of the Opera House and its performers.

Tim has so many types of songs and this is another beautiful song .

Absolutely love this performance, his voice and piano are beautiful!. May even be his best vocals from his comedy period.
Though the comparisons are grotesque..the sentiment is beautifull.

"how a little mole grows on you"...
Mole is an (old-fashioned) Aussie word for trollop (in reference to British women) . Nice that he made that lovely.

Huh! I didn't know that. A new mole can very well be a sign of skin cancer/melanoma, which indeed can spread/grow on you. I thought that was the entire reference of that line.

I saw Tim live the other week, and before he played this he said the sincerity level of the song starts on about a 3/10, goes to a 7 and then lands on a 1. I knew exactly which song it was going to be from that comment. 😂 Best show I've been to. He had the whole crowd laughing between every song (he was actually playing his non-comedic songs, but there are a few from his comedy era like this one that are less comedic and are just an interesting take and/or have a good message).
Tim is very good at being authentic and sweet - when he wants to be. Listen to this: ruclips.net/video/0JAJdplY1AU/видео.html He wrote it in his early 20s.

Just a quick note so you can get all the double entendres - the last line, after mentioning melanoma (skin cancer): "I guess I never knew, how fast a little mole can grow on you" - in Australia, the word 'mole' is used to refer to women (derogatory term for low class etc women)..
