You missed the fact that the chapter Neo opens to in "Simulacra and Simulation" is titled "On Nihilism" -- in philosophy, nihilism is "extreme skepticism maintaining that nothing in the world has a real existence"

He lists the Dark Knight Trilogy, and did the first film of another trilogy... why not continue? And finish all 3? The First Matrix is still one of my favorite movies of all time. The perfect balance of allegory, philosophy, and entertainment. The sequels weren't bad, but the balance was off to me and seemed heavy-handed and obvious.
The Matrix movie series is one of my favorites of all time. I've watched it about 50 times. Probably a bit too excessive for most people, but it's helped me through some serious health issues to take my mind off the pain. That and Disney movies. Weird, I know.

True, this really happened to me once when I lost control of a car while driving in wet conditions. Everything slowed down and I had loads of time to think
Yes, you gain the ability to think, and "time slows" but I don't have any recollection of being able to act on the feelings in a material way when things slowed down, it was more like I could analyse the situation at much higher speed than I normally could, but my ability to "influence" the situation as it were was NOT increased.. That has been my experience with it the two times I have encountered it. What has your experience with it been hive mind? the anderson formula is also a formula used to solve Matrices (plural of Matrix)
Anderson-Bahadur algorithm[7] You are absolutely correct. TW or Theodore Wilson Anderson :)
All this time that I have re watched this movie, I never notice Neo's hand reaching for the red pill in that reflection from Morpheus sunglasses. Damn this just blows my mind.
darkovilos same here!
Was such a great visual metaphor for alternate realities. Loved it.
You missed the fact that the chapter Neo opens to in "Simulacra and Simulation" is titled "On Nihilism" -- in philosophy, nihilism is "extreme skepticism maintaining that nothing in the world has a real existence"
real "purpose" not real "existence"
To quote a nihilist in fiction: "It doesn't matter"
As someone who actually worked on the film any fluids seen in the film needed to be altered to run like code. Usually thickened to run slower. You have some curious ideas here about some of the film tech used, maybe needs a bit more research.
You did effects for that movie?
Turns out he makes childs content but doesnt label it as childs content. creepy af. so he might actually know the wachowski brothers. ;)
Always a know it all in every class... what's your point???
The clock when Neo wakes up shows 9,18. From the bible, Luke 9,18 is when they declare Jesus as the Messiah. 7:10
Wow really good catch. Surprised he missed that.
Martin Palmér nice
props for that gem
In the closing scene, when Neo tells the Matrix that he’s coming after it, the date is September 18
But why is it that almost in every movie we have someone exclaim: "Jesus Christ! Jesus! Christ! Holy s**t! etc.?
I know it is an unpopular suggestion but, can you guys do the rest of the trilogy?
victor pilares the rest of the trilogy is just as good but not often understood. These days more people like it though because more people are getting it
you should break down the entire trilogy in detail. and the animatrix. and comics. that would be dope.
Plague Dox i know i thought this was the whole trilogy
No. That would be annoyingly too much. Please choose another.
@@rayfairbanks6280 have u seen all the movies. There is way more 2 analyze in the next 2
But... do we have to break down the related game too?
He lists the Dark Knight Trilogy, and did the first film of another trilogy... why not continue? And finish all 3? More work but more content to pay them back too, and besides, if they wanted to not overdo it just combine an analysis of the two sequels. Animatrix and comics could be a third vid in that case as well, seeing as most don't know about those ones.
If you really wanna escape this matrix, you need to start asking “why” and question everything that doesn’t make sense.
And once through the little existential crisis, you too can be miserable seeing the absurdity of the world🤣
Tom Maguire lol facts, that’s why some people can’t handle it
On the other hand, be very careful of what you ask for, because you may get the answer, and it might be nothing like what you were expecting.
Why we should do that!!! Why?🤣😅😂
Ozgur Senturk cause all the answers in front you. If u don’t wanna ask why then you’re simply not ready.
This might be a stretch but you guys should analyze Fight Club.... think thatd be a great movie to analyze considering the ending
I love this Idea but that would break the first two rules.
second
Nick Gazdacka would love that
yes! reiterate everything i've already heard a hundred times and confirm my artificial sense of intellectual prowess!
I agree!
me: o this is a cool vid
30m later: watches The Matrix
if it wanst 1 am i would do the same.. :D
recommend the dezionized cut
yoo forreal
I didn't realize this video was almost 30 minutes long until I read this comment.
You didn't mention that (apart from the pill) there is no blue in the matrix, everything you thing should be blue, is green instead.
Also the shape of the characters sunglasses. Good guys round, bad guys square. Early hint about who is a traitor ;)
:45
He totally mentioned that.
He said it was tinted green, he did not say there was no blue.
The sky is blue when Cypher drops his phone in the bin just before the ambush in the building.
What? BOTH Wachowski brothers have had operations to become women? Kind of an odd coincidence isn't it?
The First Matrix is still one of my favorite movies of all time. The perfect balance of allegory, philosophy, and entertainment. The sequels weren't bad, but the balance was off to me and seemed heavy-handed and obvious.
Who remembers the movie theater intro clip of the hot dog dodging the mustard and ketchup like Neo in the matrix
Paul Friebe i didn’t. Until now
I do
I do remember that!
I worked for Blockbuster, I saw that so many times, it's ingrained in my brain!
Probably a dream you had as a kid
This is amazing you guys took it way back to a masterpiece of a movie
The Matrix movie series is one of my favorites of all time. I've watched it about 50 times. Probably a bit too excessive for most people, but it's helped me through some serious health issues to take my mind off the pain. That and Disney movies. Weird, I know.
Disney movies have been found to have hypnosis frequencies and visual effects that hypnotize
sounds like me. probably seen the matrix near 50 times. i rewatch so many of my childhood disney movies and other movies i can think of like flushed away, robots, and kung fu panda. if you're anything like me, i've been enjoying the hell out of denzel washington movies...like the old ones.
Wishing you good health pal. Get well soon. Hope for the best.
The glass scene when neo touched the mirror and it's slowly spreading can be an indication of his nerves regaining feeling in the real world, as he saids it's cold, just like the water in the tank.
This film might have been the peak of cinema, or at least sci-fi. I don’t think I’ve seen a more profound and influential film since.
No good movies have been made since 1999. Change my mind.
Oliver Menos I watched avatar once. It was a good film but no where near as captivating as the Matrix. The visuals were definitely impressive tho
It's more of an anomaly than the peak. There were great sci fi movies before and after Matrix and there will be greats in the future. Matrix just blew everything out of the water and is a GOAT that comes once in a generation.
Lord of the rings came 2001-2003
T2 JUDGMENTDAY
What about “Donnie Darko” ?! You could do a video analyzing it and comparing how the “Theatrical“ is completely different in some ways than the “ Director’s Cut”!! I would definitely check that video out!!
There is no way to escape this Matrix. Good luck finding a pay phone.
The Matrix is an illusion of your own making, do you control the dream or does the dream control you?
Lol. TY
Well instead of phone booths. We have caskets!!
@@neoone9820 Caskets are what losers deserve!
@nickys34 very imaginative
When you get outside of the Matrix and are looking back in to everyone still plugged in... you just want to tell them the truth, but few listen.
I know exactly what you mean!! Wwg1wga
Of those that do listen, some ridicule you, some dont want to be 'woke'
@@foxon172 it's harder to accept that some don't want to know the truth...than the truth itself
Death is the only way
This is what our live is. Literally in mostly every movie you can find clue what is actually happening.
The Matrix has influenced my perspective of life immensely.
ditto
It should. it just starts the process. Enjoy your trip. :)
@Ivan Antunez As someone with the name Ivan you should know Sasha, Sascha, Saša etc. can be both. A male or female name. It doesn't matter. In some countries if you would use it as a girls name people would laugh about it.
@Ivan Antunez Your comment shows not only your ignorance but your insecurities. I hope you find whatever happiness it is that you're missing.
@@staticklingon2182 Lol overreacting much?
YOU GUYS DID IT!?!? I ASKED FOR THIS RECENTLY AND YOU GUYS DELIVERED!! WONDERUL SERVICE, 10/10!!!!!!
“The matrix would go on to inspire everything”
Yeah that sounds about right
Have you broken down "The Fountain" with Hugh Jackman?
This is a masterclass in film-making and philosophy.
How about Memento by Christopher Nolan. I love that movie!
Yes!!!
I was just looking to see if anyone suggested this. Good call.
2001: A Space Odyssey
Dark City
Brasil
Blade Runner
5th Element
definitely they should do one about the 5th element
what a magnificent list of movies
This list deserves an upvote.
brasil and blade runner yessss!
Oh, yes, please do Brasil!
I went to the theatre and watched this movie 3x. It was that mind blowing.
16.53 people transported to babylon for 70 years, the plaque on the ship was made 2069 70 years after 1999 🤔
O:
What did I just read?
Good catch
Nice
This might be the single most helpful peice of Matrix media ever made
Can you do Inception or Interstellar? Awesome movies
@1234coolman Or his theories on Inception
Master Bloom yes!!! I love these movies
Seconded..
Those were my top 2 requests
Inception is one of the most overrated movies ever made, besides interstellar that was even worse. Cgi, artistry pretty damn good, the movies themselves were shit.
I’ve watched the Matrix so many times over the years but there is so much I missed
More of this please! I think it goes without saying that Mad Max: Fury Road should be next 😊
Odd choice, but ok ;)
Fight Club, Se7en, Memento, 12 Monkeys, Shutter Island, Dark City, The Machinist, Equilibrium, Prestige, Fracture, and the original Flatliners.
*heart reac*
*Donnie Darko*
Interstellar
Blade Runner
I second Fight Club
The chapter in the book that Neo opens is called "On Nihilism." This refers to the nothingness that actually surrounds Neo in the artificial word.
My biggest thing about the matrix is who plugged cypher in when he was negotiating the reinsertment with smith?
I wondered that, too!
The scene where Neo sneaks up on him and they have a conversation about “why didn’t I take the blue pill?” Cypher quickly shuts off something he is working on.
People think that he was writing a program so he could put himself in and take himself out without an operator.
You should finish out analyzing the Matrix trilogy.
Those other movies stink :)
the robot that killed its owner in the matrix had the name "Bigger" in leetspeak. Possibly a reference to Bigger Thomas, from the book Native Son where he kills his boss's daughter, unintentionally, to prevent getting in trouble
Christopher Nolan's Momento. It is a great mind bender. And it has Carrie-Anne Moss in it. ( a good zagway)
*Memento. Momento is "moment" in Spanish. That's an awesome movie
Memento is one of my favourite movies of all time.
Loved it!
Great movie
Zagway? Lol I think you meant “segue”
Dammit Google... "You've been rewatching the matrix trilogy... so here's some matrix content on your youtube feed"
Same
Literally watched the movie on my TV last night before going to sleep . Woke up to this in my feed on my phone.
Lol
I didn't so what's the explanation for me
Yea like Sophia Stewart wrote the book and the matrix was stolen and the terminator being one whole story kind of real perception. Or are you blue pill choosing to believe the lies!
Editor: So, how many references shall I put in?
Bros: Yes.
I think you guys should do the other 2 please. Reloaded and Revolutions @Rockstars
Hells yeah I've been seeing tons of The Matrix related content lately! Time to watch the trilogy again for the 100th time lol
srsly seen the trilogy and animatrix like countless times : D
Ikr its just suddenly people started going back on matrix after the John Wick masterpiece
It may because the Wachowski sisters are talking of doing another three Matrix movies now.
I am happy for this revival of Matrix love. These movies were everything to me when they came out.
I @#$& love this film. The sequels didn't work for me. In fact they almost ruined the whole story for me.The first Matrix stands perfectly well on its own. IMHO.
so true. so sad
Watching part 2 was one of the biggest disappointments in my life. All the anticipation. All the excitement. All for nothing.
Just only watch the first then, nobody forces you to watch the others. Personally I like them all, each their own
Ye but part 2 is really badass action tho
M
What is interesting is that when the agent’s are reviewing Neo’s file, it shows that his passport expires on September 11, 2001 (11 SEP/SEP 01). The very day that the U.S. was attacked and became known as the 9/11. Neo’s passport also lists Capital city is the federal district of Washington D.C. or District of Columbia distinct from the States
The video shows September 13....
@@CP-mb7ly They are using technology to change things, study the mandela effect and CERN.
Finish the Matrix Saga, I'm including The Animatrix. Then do Dark City theatrical and Extended versions
Animatrix?
@@stevethea5250 There was an anime anthology that told some stories like The Second Renaissance part 1&2 that told the Origins of the War, The Last Flight of The Osiris was which is referenced and leads directly into the second film. It's really good!
Do the next two Matrix's Please. This was very enjoyable!!!!! You guys are awesome!!!!!
It's *Matrices, not matrix's
how about just sticking to the only good one. they should do a different series instead of beating a dead horse.
@@steakcrust558 for reals G ...the second and third were pure garbo. The Animatrix was decent , yet not worth doing a video on, especially since there are already ten thousand.
Bullet time is something you actually experience in times of extreme crisis. A second feels like a minute and you pick up incredible amounts of information and process many thoughts during that time.
This is, er true
Some people tried to kill me once, and ..
Yeah
True, this really happened to me once when I lost control of a car while driving in wet conditions. Everything slowed down and I had loads of time to think
Yes, you gain the ability to think, and "time slows" but I don't have any recollection of being able to act on the feelings in a material way when things slowed down, it was more like I could analyse the situation at much higher speed than I normally could, but my ability to "influence" the situation as it were was NOT increased..
That has been my experience with it the two times I have encountered it.
What has your experience with it been hive mind?
Is is a turbo mode, where you can figure out what is happening faster and more clearly? or is it something that gifts you the power to change the situation (ie take some kind of action you otherwise might not)?
@@gilbatzri Well, one time I was able to act on it. I lit the fuse on a homemade "fireworks" and saw that the fuse burned way too fast and was able to throw it in the split second it took for the thing to go off, but unfortunatly I did not manage to throw it more than half a metre. So I still have most of my fingers.
That's from the rush of adrenaline.
When you just get done watching The Matrix on Netflix and this pops up in your RUclips recommended right after...
Are we having fun in the real life Matrix its about to change for the better

It's a bit disappointing you didn't bring up "World on a wire" from 1973. It was the Matrix only in German. It used the phone to go into the machine the glitch a lot of what was in the Matrix. Once you see it you will realize where a lot of this came from.
Very cool
I didn’t think it possible
But you made the matrix even cooler
that's what I said!
Fight Club! It's full of hidden moments/details, and I'd love to see you find ones I haven't seen yet.
Please more iconic movies! Less Superheroes and GoT
YES! YES! YES! `The Matrix` and `Fight Club` are two of my all time favourite movies excactly because of all the layers and philosophical elements in them. PLEASE DO FIGHT CLUB!
This one video could easily be a Master's thesis. Just saying.
So true!
Wouldnt be the first 😊
I was literally thinking that
Not a masters thesis cause he missed alot of other mentions that arent so obvious or more obvious than ithers
Love the breaking down of each scene and how it's imbibed with so much meaning. Thank you for this.
Also on the Reagan / Cypher thing, Cypher says about his return to the matrix: "... and I don't want to remember a thing." which sadly happened to Reagan through dementia. So Cypher would have gotten what he wanted but in a bad way. Karma I guess. And evil by the agents.
So you're saying that Reagan had a deal with the agents? Well we're fucked.
I feel like i took the red pill watching this, eyes opened, mind blown.
Can you do the Lord of the Rings next
Thank u for mentioning the dysphoria undertones in this movie. Literally everyone dismisses it because they don't want to admit it's a core theme of the movie.
