Erik here! How SILLY of me to mispronounce Cillian Murphy! Thank you all SO MUCH for watching this video -- I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did producing it. Question -- do you guys think Murphy could have been used more in these movies?
"I-I... swear to God" "SWEAR TO ME!" Has got to be the best hero/villain interaction in movie history. Just the power, the delivery, the fear and simplicity of it all just shows how Batman isn't playing around
Ras al-Ghul says, “I counted six, Mr. Wayne” knowing full well that there were 7 thugs. It’s a form of gaslighting/ psy-op to break Bruce’s confidence.
Darryl Jett in Batman begins, Bruce is freezing after falling into the ice and is sitting by a fire with Ducard (Ra’s Al Ghul) In The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce and Miranda Tate(Talia Al Ghul) are completely drenched in rain and sit fireside in Bruce’s house.
It humanized Batman in a way Batman has never been before, with justifying his gadgets and abilities. As tragic as it is to be orphaned, it takes a lot to make a person go from depressed and distraught to determined and bold. By exploring that, we see more about the character and his worldview than we ever got previously. Batman Begins is brilliant still.
It did the same for me. Even though I have seen them all multiple times already. I am one of the few that thinks Dark Knight, aside from Keith Ledger's best Joker performance, was not the best of the three. It was too long and too preachy IMO.
Raz, the radical fundamentalist Joker, the radical anarchist Bane, the radical communist (at least before his true motives are discovered) These movies are theatrical representatives of philosophical arguments. Do you guys agree? Am I looking into it too much?
Why dosent anyone notice Ra's says he the "League of shadows" is a purging fire. Which leads to Bane Bane: The Fire rises. Bane gets his fundamental beliefs from Ra's as well
Why dosent anyone notice Ra's says he the "League of shadows" is a purging fire. Which leads to Bane Bane: The Fire rises. Bane gets his fundamental beliefs from Ra's as well
also interesting: the last words of Thomas Wayne to his son were: "Don't be afraid", you could argue that all Bruce's journey has been exactly a long process to be free of all his fears because of this. great video.
I love the Scarecrow POV scenes in this film. Really captured a sense of disorientation and inspired fear. I didn't think I could like a Batman more than Keaton but Bale/Nolan nailed it.
I can't believe I was in elementary school when Batman Begins came out. This trilogy really set the bar high high. Also Batman is my favorite superhero. Right after is Nightwing
This may be my FAVORITE video on this channel so FAR. I love these movies and Batman and this was EXCELLENT. I'll make sure anyone i know watches this video.
Zack Snyder loves accurate homages that are nothing but spectacle. Nolan's pays homages that add deeply to the film's narrative. Love Zack, but he needs more classes on directing and writing.
You nailed it; it feels like Snyder approaches a scene with the mindset of "how can this scene serve the visual I'm going for" whereas Nolan approaches it like "how can this scene serve the story I'm going for". 99% of the time, a good story makes for a better movie than good visuals.
I think the efforts to justify Batman's existence (or at least ground it in realism) is great. It was sorely missed in the Burton/Schumacher movies and I think it was a good test run for the MCU. Remember that three of the four superheroes in Phase I of the MCU owe their abilities to military R&D, and the other is an alien, which explains why he is so much stronger than a human.
Everything in these movies have a connection and I'm so glad I watched these! So many questions are answered on these videos and some! Thank you so much for these! Their like concept albums! Everything has a connection to something
Still the best superhero and Batman origin film. The actors, the story, the tone all just goes perfect together. One of the best things is that ending, Rachel knowing/telling Bruce that Batman is his real identity now.
Joker was the strongest villain with the most depth. 1: Joker 2: Rah’s Al Ghul 3: Harvey Dent 4: Bane (Probably 5 because he was under talia’s orders) 5: Talia Al Ghul 6: Scarecrow (Ranked on character depth)
Personally, I think the reason why The Joker is 1st (I do not disagree at all) is that his lack of true depth but the viewer's knowledge of his ideaologies. You don't find out his true name. He's just The Joker.
i really like your videos, it would be really cool it you did other Nolan films like the prestige, interstellar, insomnia, memento, and what not. thanks again for the video!
I think the explanations for his gadgets and abilities are what make him stand out. I love the MCU characters with all of my heart, but none of them resonate with me the way Nolan’s Batman has. His interpretation of the character was so down to Earth and realistic that I was able to relate to him not just as a superhero, but as another human fighting for good, and learning to apply purpose to his pains and traumas. If he had just been flying around without explanation like Batflek, then I doubt I would have enjoyed the trilogy on such a personal level.
Superhero (noun) - a character in a film or story who has special strength and uses it to do good things and help other people - someone who has done something very brave to help someone else dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/superhero
In the comics (long halloween) joker is the one who tries to poison gothams water but this movie was perfect in using scarecrow instead because of the narrative this movie theme
SuperWaluigi Bros They already did a easter eggs video on the Punisher Netflix TV series,Jessica Jones season 2,The Defenders and Luke Cage season 1. Erik here! How SILLY of me to mispronounce Cillian Murphy! Thank you all SO MUCH for watching this video -- I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did producing it. Question -- do you guys think Murphy could have been used more in these movies?
Hey Erik. You are all fine.
Eh, we could lose him.
Erik, I luv u. Don't let anyone else, Sam Bashor specifically, replace u! Pls, we luv u!
You also mispronounced Ra's al Ghul. It's pronounced Raysh al Ghoul
god yes he was so good
"Swear to me!" One of the most badass lines ever.
U need to lighten up
I can't be the only one who kinda likes Batman's voice in these movies...
I like it too
Carlos Rodriguez If he had kept the " Swear to me !" grumble I'd be cool with it. Around the 3rd movie it just sounds goofy to me.
I liked it in the first movie. It kind of sounded too intense in the 2nd and 3rd movie Imo
I really liked it
I liked it. It made perfect sense, and it made him more intimidating to his enemies.
"I-I... swear to God"
"SWEAR TO ME!"
Has got to be the best hero/villain interaction in movie history. Just the power, the delivery, the fear and simplicity of it all just shows how Batman isn't playing around
Very underrated
If you like good hero/villain interactions watch the daredevil series, season 2 has an amazing one and season 3 has an incredible one
@@Whateveridksomething I love dd rewatching it rn lol
Best Superhero trilogy ever
Captain America is close but yea
Agreed
Yes
Spiderman and Captain America are close behind
AHEM Captain America isn't your trilogy the best?
Batman Begins is not very 2005 at all. It doesn't get old and can compete a very recent films in this era
I was about to type, that is because 2005 wasnt that long ago, than i realised that it was 13 years ago, where has the years gone lmao.
I watched the whole trilogy for the first time this week and they still felt so fresh and could have been made recently
Probably because this film heavily inspired more recent films
Same with revenge of the sith
Ras al-Ghul says, “I counted six, Mr. Wayne” knowing full well that there were 7 thugs. It’s a form of gaslighting/ psy-op to break Bruce’s confidence.
Didn’t something like that happen to Picard in an episode of Star Trek?
As if defeating 6 men at once is not a superhuman feat.
😊😊😂
Christian bale will always be my Batman, no questions asked
Aviation lord Christian Bale was never an actor,
He is the one and only born Batman..
Who was a better joker in your opinion? Ledger or Skywalker?
Adam West tho :(
Aviation lord agreed
Adam West was my first Batman, but Kevin Conroy was THE Batman
The “Well” that the young Bruce Wayne falls into in Batman Begins foreshadows the “Pit” that he climbs out of in the Dark Knight Rises. Thoughts?
Darryl Jett in Batman begins, Bruce is freezing after falling into the ice and is sitting by a fire with Ducard (Ra’s Al Ghul)
In The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce and Miranda Tate(Talia Al Ghul) are completely drenched in rain and sit fireside in Bruce’s house.
It's not really foreshadowing because the sequels weren't planned at the time
Ben Kuehn yeah but they could’ve used it as an inspiration
It humanized Batman in a way Batman has never been before, with justifying his gadgets and abilities. As tragic as it is to be orphaned, it takes a lot to make a person go from depressed and distraught to determined and bold. This trilogy was more of a '' if Batman was real this is what'll happen'' than a breaking the rules of Physics trilogy
Ruel don’t comic books in general break the laws of physics?
I won’t kill you, but I don’t have to save you.
This makes me wanna watch this amazing trilogy all over again!
It did the same for me. Even though I have seen them all multiple times already. I am one of the few that thinks Dark Knight, aside from Keith Ledger's best Joker performance, was not the best of the three. It was too long and too preachy IMO.

I wouldn't say Bane is a radical communist
Carlos Rodriguez Talia is more of the communist
it's ras not raz
Slavoj zizek wrote a essay about how batman rises is a critic for comunism.

Batman Begins had one of the coolest taglines ever. It was something like "To conquer fear you must become fear". Even Reginald D Hunter loved it. 😃

It gives me freaking goosebumps when Bruce says “swear to me!” Holy shit!!
Batman = best super hero ever period.

He kinda is tho. Well, when he's done right, which is like 20% of the time.
Just rewatched this and Cillian Murphy was incredible and his performance is underrated
Very re-watchable! Batman Begins is such an awesome Bruce Wayne origin story
He pronounced his name wrong in the video
One thing you missed:
During the party scene, he calls the people you 'two-face friends'
'Two-face' is another name of the villain Harvey Dent
also interesting: the last words of Thomas Wayne to his son were: "Don't be afraid", you could argue that all Bruce's journey has been exactly a long process to be free of all his fears because of this. great video.
Even in Rises, Bane acknowledges that Bruce is not afraid to die..
I love the Scarecrow POV scenes in this film. Really captured a sense of disorientation and inspired fear. I didn't think I could like a Batman more than Keaton but Bale/Nolan nailed it.
Nice one picking Nolans Batman. There'll never be any better! #WithLoveFromNigeria
I think when Bruce uses multiple martial art styles is worth mentioning too
Dhiar Syahputra what would you mention about it? That it happened?
NaptimeGaming "like in his comic counterpart, he also mastered a lot of martial arts"
Something like that
Anyone wanna see a live action version of the court of owls?
Yung_Night there already is one
not live action though its animated
Gotham on FOX has done The court of owls. They were a big part of season 3
Valentino Stradford yeah but Gotham is garbage
Have you watched season 3? Cause it wasn't garbage. I'll say the first season wasn't great, and season 2 was a little wacky. By 3 it paid off
This movie still hold up in 2018 and more.
And in 2023, still
Best Bane and Trilogy ever
I love how Nolan did what every filmaker should do that makes a movie about a comic book character... Remain loyal to the source material!

Fantastic work. Love this series already
By definition batman isn't a superhero unless you count being rich a super power in the same way ironman and hawk eye aren't either
Ethan Hornby being a superhero isn’t about being born with abilities, being a super hero is about doing what is right even though you don’t have to
That’s being a hero

Well if you base it off the comics, he is superhuman with inhuman strength and reflexes. But Nolan's adaptation makes it more realistic.
