With Overdrive->AP, Triple Overdrive, and Triple AP you can easily max out the standard sphere grid. I prefer the standard version because only 2 stat categories will be under the max instead of 3 with the expert grid.
I know. I had the whole set up for grinding in this game. That wasn't meant to be taken seriously, just a joke on the additional number nodes. I completed this game 100% thankfully.
Dude, Just save your money for Yojimbo Zamato. You don't need to get all the luck on Penance. Dark Yojimbo is pretty much you need to worry about the most
what's the Arena mob you referenced, lol listened bout 3times, and i still am unsure. back in the PS2 era. I caped Yuna Tidus n auron - but never hit -every node- just the pre-layed out ones (aside from a handfull of Luck sphears) didn't know about dark aeons penance or any of the super bosses -- nice video though- helps a bit
I'm around 20hrs in the game and totally lost.. I dont get it. How do you fill those empty nodes? I thought i had to just finish the huge sphere grid with all characters together but now i realise it has to be done with each character which means 7 huge sphere grids am i right? Just how long will it take? Also should i be worried if i'm not yet filling these empty nodes? Any help would be apriciated. Btw thanks for the guides. I'm from croatia :P
Just wondering how long it took you to get the platinum trophy? I got it in under 3 months, I can't remember how much hours I put into the game, I ended up maxing out luck for all haha was pretty satisfying after putting in so much, I'm probably gonna do it again on the ps4 too!
I'm sorry if you've answered this already, but do you actually have to be on the node for it to count? I've noticed that the lines only light up one you travel to the node and not when you activate it while next to it. (I hope that makes sense).

Mas a maioria foi de esfera de MDEF já que eram mais fáceis de p preencher e eu já tinha matado todos os monstros sem precisar colocar tudo 255. Só coloquei força, defesa e mdef no 255. Já usei a esfera master e mesmo assim não caiu o troféu. Eu fiz somente com tidus primeiro. Mas não deu certo.
I do not understand, what is the point to show video that you already have all the grid open. I think the trouble to get this trophy is more about how to find all the AP, and all sphere required rather than how to open the last dot of the grid.

But I just wanted to ask can if you can tell me how many str , mag, def sphere I need for each character so I know how many I need to farm. You also said I would need 120 luck but could you tell me how many of those I need also. I played this game many times on the ps2 and beat everything apart from the dark mag sisters and the hidden penance boss and I never maxed out stats so that is all new to me. Yes, you do need to clear every single node on the gris and even then you will not be able to max every stat, especially not if you want 99.999 HP (which is useless but some people like to have it). However maxing all stats is not needed, don't bother going for max Magic stat since beating Jumbo Flan is a pain in the butt and you will beat every Dark Aeon and Penance by using physical attacks anyway. In order to beat Penance, your luck has to be around 120 at least or you will not hit every hit and you need to hit all your attacks in order to get hits in on his body while making sure the arms get no turns whatsoever. Can't help you on the written guide thing tho, good luck! ;)

I only leveled up Luck for Tidus, Wakka, Rikky who were my party to beat Dark Aeons and Penance. Used every Attribute and Master Sphere I could find, with the Fortune Spheres you get from the game, and killing some Earth Eaters. Once every Super Boss is done, I used clear spheres on every single luck node and replaced it with whichever, so every character could fill it easily.
Ok question. So not only do I have to activate the set spheres that come standard in the grid (I'm using expert) but I have to fill the empty nodes with some sort of stat and activate them all to get both these trophies? I couldn't just get the trophies by activating alll the standard spheres on the grid?
Where do u find all the key spheres. I'm struggling to find level 1 key spheres and don't know whether to keep moving past the locks on the grid or wait until I find some?
I hope some can answer this, for this trophy to unlock do I have to have full 255 except luck? mine isn't unlocking and most of the nodes are MP spheres, I'm a bit confused.
How do i check if i have every node activated? Master sphere is greyed out, so that must mean i have every node unlocked. Could this mean that there is still an empty node somewhere?
This would be so much easier if each character had a separate sphere grid, instead of them all interloping the way they do now. It's just a mess to look at, and it's very easy to lose track of each character's progression.

To get this trophy do you have to travel the gap between every node or just activate them? As in if I head into a dead end do i have to move my character to the very last node or only to the second and activate the third?
so I get all the nodes filled but what about travel say I'm lazy and will unlock a node but not the path to the node leaving the path unhighlighted would this cause an issue via the trophy
oh man I spent 270 hours on this game my first run through. and then brought that same save file over 300 saved hours once I got a cheat disk. re rescrapped( not a typo) the sphear grid. tossed all weapons that I so earnestly made and made all new ones. beefing up aeons, Bahamut 99,999 HP, Anima 50,000 HP, sisters 40,000 each. and every other one 35,000 and then used the cheat disk on my several playthroughs after my first epic save. and breezed through them under 100 hours. feels more like an interactive movie now. this game is great but too involved to want to spend another 250+ hours on a replay. no ps3 remake for me, I will stick to my memory card and ps2 &1 games for that. slightly less pretty but just as fun.
By level 3 and 4 spheres do you mean the Key Spheres or the +3 and +4 stat spheres?If it's the former, they're dropped or can be bribed from certain enemies in the game.If it's the latter, they're dropped by certain enemies in the Species Conquest and Area Conquest of the Monster Arena.
Easy way to get early Lvl 3 Key Spheres is to steal them with Khamari when he fights the Ronso brothers solo, you can get like 9 to 12 of them. Later in the game best way to get them is to fight certain monsters in the monster arena. Look at a bestiary to discover which monster arena monsters drop, steal, bribe items.
I'd recommend using the Expert Grid, but only if you're comfortable with the game. The Expert Grid has fewer nodes and so it can save time, but if you're unfamiliar with the game you may hit a brick wall with a storyline boss since your characters won't be on a set track.
Im 225 hours in and completed 3 of the characters sphere grid Tidus Wakka And Rikku all i need is to farm Fortune Spheres then fill in luck nodes for Kimahri Yuna and auron then there sphere grids will be completed lulu is the only one thats underleveled out of everyone btw im using the Standard Grid
Honestly, once I beat the superbosses, I use clear spheres on all luck nodes and fill them with anything else, so I don't have to grind that many stupid fortune spheres.

its really not that bad at all, on my second playthrough i completed the grid in 40 hours and beat the game.i never completed the empty nodes though so that would take another 5 hours or so.you can buy items to make enemies drop 10 magic spheres per battle too for them.
It takes a lot of time, especially if you're planning to maximize your stats (which most do for Penance). You'll have to grind a lot of stat spheres from the monster arena fights, and the Magic +4 spheres only drop from the Jumbo Flan which is a shit fight. Some also use clear spheres to get rid of any +1, +2, or +3 nodes so they only have +4's which also takes more time. With the proper equipment and setup you can get 99 levels in a single battle. The problem is to get any efficiency from that method is that every character needs to have a lot of kills under them, otherwise the Grudge doesn't do much damage which translates into not a lot of levels. That becomes a problem as most people have a preferred party to use and may give others levels without giving them kills. This is especially apparent with Yuna as she's powerful with her Aeons, but the kills by Aeons do not turn over to her. You can also get 40 spheres by fighting Kottos or Fafnir and using a distiller on them. It's still a massive time sink when compared to the rest of the game.
Couldn't really say. I'd say I was moving slow so it took about 40 hours or so to get Dark Aeon/Penance ready; that'd be most stats at 255 while Luck is 120+ (mine was 150). After that I cleared the Luck Spheres because filling those in takes longer than necessary. From there I farmed MP spheres to fill up the grid. Overall I'd say it took me around 60 hours. Keep in mind this was also me clearing the +1, +2, and +3, nodes.
On my save file Auron's sphere grid is full. HP: 99999, Str:255: Def:255, Mag:9, M Def:255, MP:999, Agility:255, Luck:201, Eva: 255 and Acc: 255. I'm just getting Exp now to fill everyone's to match or as close as possible. Rikku just needs few more luck. Wakka need's his luck and HP. I've not touched anyone else :( But I'll do it, At some point... Only need Perfect sphere master, Perseverance and the hidden Yu Yevon trophy's for platinum. Takes so long I think, I get bored grinding Tonberry after 30 mins.

You dont need high luck. Just max strength defense agility and accuracy. I just used aim a lot. I couldnt hit dark mindy but I hit her serveral times with wakka's overdrive: attack reels. Even dark bahamut dropped so dont focus to much on luck. Hope that helps good luck.

Nope it's optional. I unlocked the trophy without completely lighting up the grid. You just need to activate all the nodes =D

How did you get 25 Master Spheres? I thought we could only get 10 (by unlocking Nemesis)

Straight Edge 130 can handle most of them, only the Bee Magus Sister requires more.
