Hiking the GR10 // Into the High Pyrenees

- In July 2023 I took the train to Hendaye in the south of France to start my hike of the GR10.
The GR10 is a popular hiking trail of approximately 955km traversing the French Pyrenees. The trail starts in Hendaye at the Atlantic coast and finishes in Banyuls-sur-Mer on the Mediterranean coast.
This episode captures days 10-13 (±75km) on the trail, from Refuge Jeandel to Lac d'Anglas near Gourette, which are the first stages that pass through the High Pyrenees!

Glad you enjoyed it! The mountain dogs look cute but they are definitely not, the one you saw actually bit a girl a little later, luckily just a warning bite. Many other dogs blocked my path in later sections and were terrifying!
How did you find hiking alone as a single female? Inspirational videos
Thanks for your message! Hiking alone on the GR10 felt really safe as there are plenty of other people hiking and the culture is much more accepting of wild camping. This is not the same in England, where hiking alone is absolutely fine, but wild camping does make me nervous as it is not allowed.
