A good thing to consider is you could also resell the old parts that you would not need.

While I can't speak regarding sim racing, I have bought a lot of high-end Virpil flight sim gear in used condition. The only issues that I have run into is that there is often missing stuff, like tools, springs, etc.
That's one of the downsides obviously. My T-LCM Pedals, my TH8A shifter and the Open Wheel Add-On RIm didn't come with their boxes (for the T-LCM I got all the contents of the box), but for some this may not be that big of a deal, just something to consider thinking about.
i got the g pro for 600 pounds unopened never used lol.. also got my t-lcm pedals new on offer for 160
Good video, it’s refreshing compared to all of the other RUclipsrs that tell you to buy the last shiny new thing and as a normal guy without an infinite source of money it’s simply not possible. My sim racing journey started on my dad’s Microsoft sidewinder, then at some point I bought a used G27 and I’ve been rocking that for the last 10 years, this year I bought a used set of tlcm pedals and I’ve been loving them even tho I’ve not modded them, and finally a couple of days ago I’ve come across a ts-pc with a couple of rims and the price was too good to resist and now I’m eagerly waiting for that to arrive.

@@102kamii Sadly it was a bit of a dud, but at least I can send it back and I still have my trusty g27. The silver lining is that yesterday I saw a video about a new Thrustmaster DD with PlayStation compatibility, I hope it means that when it comes out, the used market will be flooded with tgt and tgt2 wheelbases.
I'm so glad I realized early on how expensive going the brand new route is compared to buying used but hearing those numbers is still insane LOL

Indeed it is!! or well, one song was from the menu where you pick the difficulty (GT3) and one is from the main screen in the career mode (GT4)
After blowing £500 on my DD wheel, £400 on my pimax VR, then £2500 on a motion rig, I'm struggling to watch this video with a straight face. Oh and that's not even mentioning my gaming PC which I only use for sim racing.
Yeah.. it really gives you another look at things when you see the full number of all things calculated together.
Still wouldn't change one bit about it, I love this hobby!
