The desire to have your car "warmed up" is a northern thing. I live in Florida and love that it blows cold air in on remote start. I think this should be a setting in the system that you can select which you prefer.
Your pretty much doing what I’ll be doing with mine, can’t wait. Black on black, exhaust, leveling kit, tint. Keep posting on how the truck works for you in your day to day!!
Mark, loving the videos. I have the same exact truck, 15' model. I have the same 2 inch rough country leveling kit, one of the first things I did to it. MAKE SURE you get a alignment, I didn't and within 1000 miles my front tires are shot. My next comment would be, for your next mod, remove that darn front bumper, it does nothing to help, and when I removed mine I saw no difference in gas milage, it gives the truck an entirely new bad a look its crazy. just about 10 screws and it comes off, they are a little bit of a pain. once I get a little more money to throw at my truck, I have been looking at the same tires as you as well as a exhaust, I saw those tail lights in the other vid and definitely need to get a pair for my truck. beautiful truck to say the least, looking forward to seeing some new videos and possibly even a wrap!
John Doe thanks John! Man, I’ve been putting this leveling kit off for way too long and I’m so happy I finally got to it. The shop aligned it for me as well so I’m good! I agree about that lower bumper piece too. I crawled under there and the screws looked funny so I put it off for now but that’ll be off sooner then later!
Removing the air dam can have an effect on engine cooling and yes an alignment is necessary after, also a leveling kit with a upper and lower space will help save your ball joints compared to just a upper
Pro tip, turn your heat on in the cold weather months. When you remote start the vehicle, it will be set to warn air, instead of cold. Also, make sure you remote start it at least 10 minutes before getting in. All cars need time to "warm" up.
Nice truck. Hoping its my next vehicle. What kind of mpg you get? I have two boys (11-14) hows the space in the backseat? Rather a canyon than a full size as gas is going up and up.
Nice looking truck I've got a black 2016 Colorado crew cab. Was thinking about doing just 1 inch on the front but after seeing your truck I may do 2" Would be cool if you could leave links to the products you use.
I have a 2019 and want to do the same but I'm wondering about 1 thing that worries me. I currently get anywhere from 32 to 35 mpg on the highway which I'm really happy about . Did this in any way affect your gas mileage ? I'm worried that if I level the front the truck wont be as aerodynamic. This is the same reason as I see you did a d left the air dam on where so many have removed it. Please let me know. Thank You
Looks much better.👍 My 97 silverado was the same way. I put 2" drop shackles in the rear, but still has a little rack. I wanted mine lower, it's 2wd. Some Chevy trucks have a ridiculous amount of lift in the rear to compensate for towing capacity.
In the winter time, remote starting the truck turns on the heated seats, in the summer time, the fan blows, not on high to cool the vehicle down. Do what Judson Byrd said, "Don’t use it 5 feet away from the truck. Use it when you are leaving in 5 minutes".
Set the heater on all the way before you shut the truck off, then auto start the truck 10 minutes before you get in, then you'll understand what its doing.
On your 265/65 tires if you were to keep that tire size. Would you go any hire on this truck and if so how high would you go? Also did you have to trim the air dam to not rub?
michael valdez no I wouldn’t raise the truck any higher with the 265/65 there would be too much gap and would look funny in my opinion. I don’t rub on anything but my tires are factory upgrades that come with the all terrain x package. 255/65/17 street tires come with the all terrain w/out the X package. After a 2” level in the front you can move up to 265/70 and still clear
When those wear out look at the 255/70R17s. Thats what the new AT4s are running from factory with the 1" level. Also gives you 1/2" diameter increase over what you have now
Thanks for clearing my doubts I have an 18 colorado I'm on 265 60 18s. Was concerned the tire would be too small. Not neowww. Grabbing that leveling kit. Thanks neighbor. #AnaheimHills
Hey man! Just bought the 18 Canyon all terrain a few months ago and have been debating the leveling kit until I watched your video! Will I be able to run 265/70 17s on my stock wheel after the leveling kit ?? Any help would be appreciated!
Seanmichael heroldfit I run 275/65/18 on my SLT with Fox coil over 2” lift. Had to add 1/4”spacer with stock rims. There is room for bigger...maybe 33s...drives like a dream on and off road
Mine heats in winter and cools in the summer. If Temps are really low, I've noticed my rear defrost will also kick on with the remote start. I have the 16 Colorado.
Mark B. I learned that whatever function you had on when the truck was turned off is what turns on when you remote start it as long as your settings are set for it to turn on during remote start
Hey I have a 2018 canyon all terrain wat kit did u use I feel the same way I felt wit urs can u send me a link so I can do it to mine O AND WAT SIZE TIRES DO U HAVE ? THEY LOOK REALLY GOOD 👍
Kiana Godoy didn’t need to utilize the warranty but if there’s an issue with your suspension directly related to your leveling kit causing the problem then they won’t cover that part. Example if your joints wear out prematurely they can go back and tell you that the leveling kit was the cause and void the coverage for that part
Your heat is solely dependent on the temperature of the engine, so if you want to have it blowing warm air - you need to start it several minutes before you intend to ingress. I guess this isn’t obvious to the people that do not understand how their vehicle works.
So you only did the front end right? What brand did you use? Sorry probably said it in the video but I'm supposed to working and watched it with subtitles lol
Dustin Richardson yep. You can go up to 265/70/17 without rub which converts to a 31 1/2 in inches. I currently run 265/65/17 which is a 30.5” tire size in inches
Mark nice video. I have the same 15 canyon . Im putting a 2inch level kit from ready lift. If you want a bigger more aggressive tires i went with the falken wildpeak at3 265/70R17.
Hey man, what happens when you use the remote start is adjustable. Look in your book. Right now with mine the remote start turns the heat and heated seats on high. Secondly, you level your truck and then show it off on uneven ground!!! Can't really see a difference from my view. Should show it on level ground and... would be really cool if you pulled into a dealership and parked it next to an unaltered Canyon for comparison. The leveling thing does bother me a bit mostly due to the way the drivers seat sits and moves. I'd have no issue with it if the front end of the seat would lift independently but it doesn't-even in the denali. I'd just worry about driving dynamics changing both empty and loaded because I like the way it drives now. Last thing- bit of a nit pick- I hate that all terrain tag on your truck. I hate all those tags and 4x4 stickers or Zr2 stickers, etc, especially when they don't match the color scheme of the truck. In fact, I hate the red GMC logos on mine and just got a can of black plastidip in the mail in order to sort that out...Hopefully to look like your GMC logo with the letters in black and the outer border still chrome.
Frank Grimm a future vid comparing a stock Canyon before leveling is a great idea. I can tell you though the kit made zero difference in ride quality, still rides factory. I’ve removed the Canyon letters and am fighting myself to leave the All Terrain stamps because it separates mine from other packages. In my area at least a Canyon is hard to come by and am yet to see even ONE All Terrain though I love the look of a badge-less truck. And I like plasti dip but make sure to use around 8 wet coats. Mine are vinyl wrapped gloss black. Never read a manual a day in my life but today might be a good day to start, the cold air in the AM is driving me nuts
@@MarkBrenner Yeah, I've considered removing the chrome denali logo that they felt the need to put on 3 sides of the truck... But tinkering with $40k+ vehicles is not my comfort zone and even the plastidip has me a bit nervous despite watching tutorials.
Frank Grimm I hear ya! The Denali is the holy grail GMC trim level so I can understand their desire to make it known. I do envy your interior bits and power charging mat. If you do end up debadging at least you have embossed in your bed liner
@@MarkBrenner The badges seem like bragging to me... I'm just not interested in bragging about material shit or status symbols. I know what's inside of it I don't need to drive around and try rubbing it in people's faces, you know? I just wish I could exchange the driver's seat with the seat from the new Lincoln Continental. We were looking at those before we got the truck and man... I love that seat.
I saw a vid with a supercharged canyon vs a raptor and the supercharger didn't seem to help. I'm no mechanic but I've gathered (from more informed people) that the 3.6 v6 in the canyon does not respond well to superchargers or turbo. Seems that there isn't much room for increasing it's performance.
The issue with that was that it was a centrifugal supercharger and they dont build boost till later in the rpm range. Need a positive displacement top mount and you'll get power right away. In that video they said if he had more space he might have caught it. Raptors get power fairly early in the rpm range
The desire to have your car "warmed up" is a northern thing. I live in Florida and love that it blows cold air in on remote start. I think this should be a setting in the system that you can select which you prefer.
It blows off of what setting you have your climate control set to and the ambient temp outside
How much was the leveling kit? ~$200 for parts, how much for labor, and alignment?
Your pretty much doing what I’ll be doing with mine, can’t wait. Black on black, exhaust, leveling kit, tint. Keep posting on how the truck works for you in your day to day!!
Ricky Bouchard for sure brother!

Fender flare for canyon denali 2021: Do you have any idea??? No screws.
looks clean ! ive got a 5.5" lift on my 2.8L denali with airlift suspension in the rear . these are such badass trucks
Found a fix for the remote start cold air problem. Don’t use it 5 feet away from the truck. Use it when you are leaving in 5 minutes
Took me a minute to figure that one out but so happy I did
@@MarkBrenner still got the truck, hows the lvling kit?
Hey man, you can adjust the auto start settings through the infotainment settings.

DJ Hancock thanks for the pro tips! I had realized that it turns the air onto whichever temp it was last left on. Finally
Yes. The key is to turn it on heat before you shut it off and then turn it off. It seems to work better.
Thanks for your time and making the vid, I just bought a 2020 gmc canyon base and was wondering how to level out the truck, looks wicked fresh bro
Thanks bro!

I have the twin brother truck (crew cab chevy colorado) and it has more than enough room in the back seat for me and i'm 6'2. Hope that helps.
Just curious. If you don't tow anything, or put anything in the bed of your truck, why do you have a truck?

Wonder what running boards that has
So you have just the 2 inch spacer? You won't get premature wear and tear with any suspension components?
What tires do you have on your truck?
Isaac Aleman 265/65/17

Hey did this affect the gas mileage at all..I know that might be a dumb question but I have the same vehicle and wanted to lift mine
justin arias I don’t notice any difference👍
These get better and better every time I see one.....
Highly recommend taking the air damn off because it’s way longer than most other trucks. Automatically looks more aggressive.
have you had any issues with the transmission ? how is the power from the v6 ?
Set the heater on all the way before you shut the truck off, then auto start the truck 10 minutes before you get in, then you'll understand what its doing.
