JR wouldn’t want his release. He’s making a fortune to work one day a week on a one hour long show. When he was originally signed on at least AEW announced his deal as the most lucrative in pro wrestling commentator history. And judging by all we hear about how AEW pays people I don’t doubt that he did get a giant amount in his deal, although I have no idea how much money it would be to be the most in commentator history. Back in the day when JR was an executive in the WWE there were some years where his pay was disclosed in the company’s SEC reports but this was probably like 2004 or so. And if I remember right he was making $300K or so for his commentating contract. I would imagine that the pay for the role has gone up quite a bit since that point of time so I wouldn’t be surprised if JR is earning around $1M a year even. At his age that has to be a pretty sweet gig to make a lot of money for a low amount of work to get it. He’s signed through sometime in 2024 whenever he hits 50 years in wrestling and I think he will probably step away from commentary altogether at that time possibly. If I remember right I think JR said that the plan was always that he start out as the main announcer and help Excalibur grow into that role eventually. So I think how things have been transitioning for him are largely in line with what was always going to happen. I’m a JR homer admittedly but I have to agree he isn’t as great as he once was which is natural with how old he is now. But I just hope that whenever he chooses to exit that he gets to Do it on his terms. I think he deserves that after all these years.

Now I can’t wait to hear when Jim finds out about Scrypts😂
Why what happened to him
@@bash8387 because he is Reggie.
Reggie as Scrypts is hilarious 😂
14:28 😂🤣😆 Jim's "yeaaa" 😂🤣😆👏
i been waiting for this video for DAYS
Wouldn’t expect much from someone ignorant as Jim to have any respect for AAA lucha wrestling to say no one knows him like if he’s some indie nobody.
It's a Kenny Omega match I expected a circus show.
Is it me or does Jim only have one foot in this artwork?
Khan doesn't know what he's doing. Brings in these guys no one knows.
Adam Hangnail Page to CM Punk "Your time is up"😂😂
Random question, but in the thumbnail art for the video, where's Jim's left foot?
This was a lucha libre match, Cornette just acts like he's never seen this type of match. If he hates lucha libre then that's something different.
i tagged cornette and brian in the clip on twitter i feel so happy lol
It’s 2023, not 1973. The wrestling world has changed.
One thing I will give credit for, is when the AEW guys were doing their gimmick schtick in the ring after the match, Vikingo was selling his injuries and pain after the match for the entire time until he left the arena.
As soon as this match started... Been salivating for this video hahaha
Meltzer and Alvarez: "This dream match delivered"
Every casual wrestling fan: "Who?!?"
Sounds like the flashback disco dancing sequence from the movie "Airplane"...😂
Only thing about Vikingo, after you’ve seen this one match, you’ve seen them all.
When the little guy did the 69 through the table on Kenny, not gonna lie, I started chanting E-C-W! E-C-W!
You know what is really interesting?
The AEW Weirdos got upset that people didn't knew who Vikingo is.
On Rampage, the same Weirdos attacked Bennett,Maria Kanellis and Matt Taven saying that anyone know who they are...hipocrites!
And those three actually have done more in the US than Vikingo
This show wasnt my kind of show. 3/10 overall from me. I thought Sting doing OCs stuff was actually funny and Skye Blues backside is always welcome on my TV.
AEWs booking half the time is …
“It’s a Dream Match” just because they said it is …
Who's Dream? 😂
"Defecation with whipped cream is the best desert i have ever had" LMAO
When this kid walked out, the camera angle made him look like andre, then they went to the wide shot, and I thought "well.. Mexican Viking...makes sense"
It says a lot when a 5 star match rating is now considered a badge of shame rather than a badge of honour
Well the 5 star rating used to be respectable when there was hardly any of them (even fewer in American promotions), but now every other month seems to have a 5 star match and it always involves the same 4-5 people.
Bruh, all Vikingo really did was spam hurricanrana the whole damn match. Omega barely got any offense in. Then all of a sudden he hits the OWA and he wins. Get TF outta here.
0:00 I love how frustrated Jim sounds in the beginning while arranging his papers😂
14:26 Jimmy’s reaction 😂😂😂
what?
*clicks play*.... picks up glass of wine....I enjoyed the match, but, let's go Jim!! 🍷🍷🍷😆😆😆
Dave 5 stars ratings just trash
The first 10 seconds of this is probably the funniest in any of his vids ever. His pure dejected, anger is absolutely gold.
The sigh at 10 seconds had me howling 😂😂😂😂
"Speaking of who the F is that supposed to be?"
I can’t believe the comments on the RUclips clip of this match. This generation of fans really thought this was good pro wrestling. It’s shameful how bad it was.
I consider myself a well “in-the-know” Wrestling fan, and I had no clue who tf this guy was. I turned the tv off as soon as the main event started. just so unappealing
Kenny won’t be able to wrestle soon, when he wrestles guys off the street they will hurt him and be dangerous. Oh well right
Hearing Jim and Brian say Vikingo as Viking-Go instead of Vee-King-Oh pops me
Yeah, the ambulance bit was a bit too much. As it went down......two words came to mind "Lame" and "Dorky".
Dang, Jim no sold the Thornton Mellon reference.
My class of 7-8 year olds had to do Do-si-do’s in PE today and it really did look like a Kenny Omega match
