I inherited my Grandma's 04 Ford Mustang v6 and she is the original owner. It sat out in the parking lot all its life and has only 33k miles on it. Even though its low mileage it has never been cared for or washed. I replaced a lot of dry rotted parts but JUST clay bared it today with this product. It worked MIRACLES on that old Mustang. There were paint streaks that I thought the paint was going but after claying it and than putting Mother's wax on it, it shines like glass. I can't recommend this product enough. I am a weekend warrior and not a professional but this was awesome!

Anyone who hasn't tried speedclay 2.0 is missing out big time. As they said, this will save time. I use it while washing the car, before rinsing off the shampoo I do a couple of passes, when the paint is smooth, then I rinse. That alone is a big plus for me. The extra drying time saved, and not having to worry about dropping it.

Don't use the whole block at once. They would like you too so that you replace it more often. Cut the original block into 3 equal-sized pieces. Also, don't move the block in circular motions. Back and forth... Side to side.

I watch the video yesterday, went and bought the kit at autozone here in California it was kind a late to do it last night,
This morning (Sunday) my wife asked me to go with to the local store, I couldn’t go in the store because I forgot my mask, while sitting in my truck I remember I had the kit inside.
I started on the hood and just in a few minutes I was amazed, few minutes later I had at least 5 people around me they thought I was a sells rep for Mother’s, I told them I was regular customer trying it for the first time and they were amazed of the results as I was.

Has the Mothers staff ever used their own product? The Instant Detailer bottle base is so narrow it is almost impossible to set it down without it falling over. Extremely frustrating when these companies do not test their own products PRIOR to marketing. I poured the lubricant into a round base bottle. I don't want to spent all day picking the bottle up off the floor. "Form follows function", Louis Sullivan.

When I first finished using the clay bar on my car I wondered once done if using the Step 1 'Pure Polish' was necessary. I skip the glaze, I find the glaze is the hardest to remove, so I clay, then step 1 polish, skip the glaze... ( bc polish removes hair line scratches etc ) then step 3 Carnuba wax. The next day after the wax sets I re wash and top it off with the ceramic spray wax. Very Happy with this process! The liquid pure carnuba saves time too! Much easier to apply and wipe off with same results as paste. The ceramic spray will become a bi weekly topper after every wash! I do this once a year

I want to make sure of the proper steps - wash, rinse, clay bar (is it better to not dry the vehicle when it’s time to use the clay, even when using the mother’s instant Detailer?), rinse, and then use an iron remover? I’ve seen a few videos on the use of an iron remover and I’ve seen people do the iron remover before clay bar and others use it after clay bar.

I got a car that has been sitting under a tree for five yrs or so. I have washed the car with a pressure washer and still there are black spots. I have tried 3 different auto soaps and they do not work. I even tried dish soap, it did do a little better job but still the black spots are still there. So I tried a microfiber towel and it did nothing. So I tried a green scrubbing pad that damn thing took some of the paint off. Never tried clay before, never even heard of it. Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome. Years ago I bought a brand new truck. After about the first year I thought I would clean it up wash and wax it. I go to the auto parts store and tell the guy I need something to take off the dead bugs on the front of the truck. He sold me some purple looking cleaner. I mixed it with water and kept it wet. And it was looking good. I rinsed it off with a pressure washer several times. It was looking good. About a week later the paint started pealing off. Strange thing I took it back to the dealership and the guy took one look at it and said. Yeah, we have had trouble with that paint pealing off. So I am not sure if it was something I did or if it was just bad paint. Perhaps both.

Always safer to wash before you do anything. It's laborious, but just feels right. I do this twice a year... takes a long time for sure:
      -Wash
-Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover as needed, wet popsicle stick for the stuborn spots
      -wash
-clay bar as needed (not recommend to do this every time as it's abrasive)
      -wash
      Klasse sealant
      Collinite wax

clay only if you need to.

  • @cbinder46
    @cbinder46 5 лет назад

People need to realized that clay is an abrasive to clear coat, so if you don't use it properly, you can screw up your paint more than it was. Don't use clay at every wash, use SHIT TONS of lubrication (not just water), and move in straight motions to reduce the chance of additional swirls. If you run the clay in linear movements, you will see less scratching than if you do circular motions. That's not even an opinion. When you run in straight lines, the light reflecting off the scratches (the reason you see them in the first place) will be a lot less noticeable than if you go in circular motions. A lot of detailers will tell you that you should expect to polish your paint after so many clay sessions for the reasons I stated above, it is an abrasive.
