Glad some game designers still respect the fun factors in old games. Arcade-ish, fast, competitive fun WITH split-screen options can barely be found anymore. I think I'll buy
For anyone on the fence, maybe this is first time you heard of Trackmania or w/e.. Buy it. I bought my first ever TM a few years ago (stadium) then a couple hundred in game hours later ended up buying every single one before it. Such an underrated franchise, demands just as much respect as the top racers out right now like Dirt Rally, Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, etc. If you even kind of liked Trials, you will love this. I still remember the first time I joined a 64+ player server in Stadium, ghost cars just flying fuking everywhere, music blaring, almost screaming at you push harder and harder. And then, that magical moment (after dozens of hours of practice ofc) where you join another huge ass server.. and find yourself placing in the top 16 or so and seeing yourself on the ldr board at the end of the tracks time limit.. so fkin satisfying.
Trackmania is one of those games that is simple, absurdly insane and require a lot of skills to master... no car setups, no "finish before the others". just simple and plain "go faster and crazier"... this is why this game has a ton of hardcore fans. it´s simple, insane and fast. and Turbo just got it right...
As this was my first video from this channel, I have to say this was such a great review. Well written and well spoken. Great job man, excited to see more.
I love it when racers have a track editor with sharing system in place. It means I can always jump on and play tracks I've never played before. Its basically endless free dlc.
As far as music: I like to play my own while playing this game. The thrills you get when you pull an amazing stunt while your favorite part of the song comes up is priceless. Medals - bronze, silver, gold... aren't you forgetting something? My biggest gripe - magnetic tracks automatically put you into first person/cockpit view and while I understand that this view helps you see more when it comes to looping tracks, it is really unsettling and difficult for me to control the car when I can't see the edges of it and whether or not they're about to touch a wall. I can attest to the high difficulty of the game. Some gold medals were easy to obtain, others took me 20 minutes of playing the same track over and over and over again until I got it right, and don't get me started on driving on sand - the controls are HORRIBLE on sand!
Just wanted to say after watching just 5 or so of your videos, my favourite game reviewer on RUclips by a long way. Keep up the good work man! Subbed....
Karak, what are your thoughts on the online multiplayer ? I found the 'rooms' to be quite an odd system of pvp, at least from my expierence in the beta. Or am I missing the point of it ?
HotSeat mode has been so much fun. Building a track and sitting there with my kids swapping the controller to see who is the fastest. For the price this is a must for anyone into racing games.
I love your reviews. They are so eloquently spoken with great references. Also you back up your reasoning's for pros and cons of games with legit examples and are very unbiased. Keep up the great work!
Hay! Is there an option to play single player race, party play with friends, just like in Trackmania Nations 4ever? I see only solo campaign and multiplayer...
Amazing review, man! As always! Just a question: I'm intending to buy it on PC, but I want to play on my TV with a xbox 360 wireless controller. Do you know if it is supported by the PC version?
I've never played a Trackmania game before but I'm keen to try this. The crazy tracks and the editor reminds of a pc game I used to play in the early nineties called Stunts.
+Jayden Young So have I. Sadly it didn't come out unscathed with the removel of the PC personal servers. But rating this title alone for what it offers? Oh ya. Worth it.
I cannot believe i've never heard of this series until I saw it's announcement during e3. basically, from this review, i got that trackmania is challenging, yet fun. sounds perfect for me.
+Tommy Sasaki I was surprised as well. The gameplay is so good ! But one thing that threw me off was the online multiplayer, more specifically the 'rooms'. I think it's a weird system tbh. Or is it just me ?
MiichielH Ok, I tried mp a little. I think its fine. The menues are a little messy until you get used to it. It reminds me of the server browser in Battlefield 4. It has a filter option too. But I wouldnt mind if they had a quick game options as well for those who prefer that. I played in a room of 110 players, just ghosts, but man, I could barely see the road because of all the name tags lol It was crazy fun though.
Yeah the messy menu's threw me off a bit at the start, but I guess it's just part of the games artstyle. Not really my thing tho. The fact you can play with 100 people at the same time, gives the multiplayer a cluttered feel. I guess it's just part of the over-the-top natue of the game. Which is fun and different actually, but still not sure if I'm fully convinced yet
Considering that some of these tracks shown were confusing the heck out of me - which way to turn? how sharply? oh nooooo a wall!!! - I gather this game will be like Trials for me: a steady grind to desperately recall where the track goes as I'm driving. I'm not sure I have that many fingernails to chew, hair left to lose, or vocal chords left to scream in frustration at it. But I'm sure I'll try. : ) Fun and engaging review.
LOL "like putting explosives next to a kitchen fork". I'm 33, been playing racing games since Rad Racer on the NES, Gran Turismo 1-6, and Trackmania is my favorite of them all! Short, sweet, action packed, outstanding controls. Awesome review
I'm a huge fan of racing games and this game looks like a lot of fun. I've played most of games in the Trackmania series and this one looks like its the best one yet. Its easy to jump into Trackmania Turbo but its a whole new ball game when it comes to actually mastering the mechanics. On top of that, the game is crushingly difficult leaving next to no room for error. In that regard it reminds me of the Wipeout and F-Zero series. Games such as, Wipeout Pulse, Wipeout Pure, Wipeout 2048, F-Zero GX and the original F-Zero are extremely hard. However, when you finish first place in a race you feel that you earned that top spot because of how hard you had to work to get there. I will definitely be buying this game and for $40 its not a bad deal at all. Thanks for another solid video, keep it up and God bless!
Holy crap you just reminded me of a game that was such a big part of my childhood and I completely forgot about it! Trackmania Sunrise, omg I spent so much time goofing around in that game as a kid. Thanks for a great fucking review and for reminding me of this awesome franchise, getting this for sure!
Can you race on other players' tracks that they created? or do you have to be their friend? Just curious because it would add a lot of longevity if I could go online and play a bunch of player made maps. Thanks and keep up the great videos!
+Micah Klein in the previous trackmania games it was like that. All the maps from the online servers were made by players. 500.000 tracks, never get bored :D
Just a heads up, Trackmania Turbo isn't the first jump onto console. Wii had a version of Trackmania in 2011. There was also a DS version. Unless you mean this gen. If so forget it.
EndlessFantasyScience who cares about sales. Think about the games. Especially third party. All the wii ever had was first party. And if you're not a Mario fan then you're out of luck. Only Mario games I like on are galaxy and kart
+Sleezy Steve The fact that you can play player-created tracks (and that it has 4 player split screen) means it has a lot of replay value. The only time you'll want to stop playing the game is when you'll get sick of racing.
Another thing to buy this game is that its going to be on Playstation VR! Which is one of the reasons I plan on buying it. I just hope the developers just add the ability to play it with VR through a Patch rather then reselling a VR version. After meeting the developers last E3 and seeing how chill they were I would assume it would be a added feature otherwise people would be very upset.
Don't forget about Trackmaster times in campaign. I don't know if they were added in an update or something, but it seems odd that someone could unlock every track without getting a single Trackmaster time.
After seeing this review, I'm definitely interested picking this game up. The racing game genre is one of my favorites genre to play, and it's nice to see that there are plenty of solid racing games this console generation. However, this game is going to bother completionists like crazy due to the desire getting a perfect run for each campaign event.
Hate to be that guy. But this game isn't for Linux, is it (unless it will implements Vulcan)? The only other game that has this style of game that I know of is Distance. But that's still on EA.
Great review, but you might want to work a bit on your transitions from "graphics" to "sound" and so forth. Sometimes I didn't realize you were talking about a new subject, but that might just be me.
Four player couch Co-op split screen hell yeah just one more question how does it stack up to Modnation Racers? I'm assuming it's not like a cart racer but ModNation also had an option to turn items off just called Pure Racing. I desperately miss Modnation Racers and the community is still for the most part alive... but the servers will be turned off I believe, on July 10th. :( I don't have a Nintendo Switch or Wii U. and Little Big Planet Karting was an unfortunate 2 steps backwards. I currently have Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed ... super fun but the PS4 needs a Kart Racer in the same vein as Modnation Racers was. Game Mechanix wear second to none and they still are.
Awesome review. Informative and very entertaining. If you want to try this out there is a 3.4GB downloadable trial version on the XBone. I have spent the past 2 hours trying to get gold on the 5 campaign tracks in the trial. Very addictive.
I'm kind of glad I watched this before picking it up now. I was big into Trackmania years ago on PC but without the same server quality im not sure its for me :( Also, first time watching a vid of yours and it was great :)
Glad some game designers still respect the fun factors in old games. Arcade-ish, fast, competitive fun WITH split-screen options can barely be found anymore. I think I'll buy
+Jeremiah Awbrey agreeed
Wait?A ubisoft game, without micro transactions, and has cheats? what is this 2008?
+Weirdude 4812 it might as well be
"B is the restart button, it's like putting explosive next to the forks" xDDDDD
glad you liked it sir
4 player split-screen? SOLD!
+Adam Brown That's the reason i love this game too!
+Adam Brown
So awesome to have fun games to play with friends when they're over, instead of forcing everyone to be at home on their own console.
Adam Brown HELL YEAH! So few games have 4 player split screen
Bought the game, totally agree with this review.
I love the way you don't scream into the microphone with an annoying accent and let people decide to subscribe and like! :)
+László Marosi Appreciate that Marosi
+László Marosi so agree!
+László Marosi ::: I often like the way people don't do that, Don't really dig the way people do that by the way
I love games like this, we don't get enough of them anymore. Definitely buying this.
PS Plus been holding it down
Best reviewer on RUclips..Picking this up tomorrow.
SPLIT SCREEN!? :D Okay, that's it. I'm buying.
Did you buy it? What do you think of the game? Still playing it?
did you try this in vr?
For anyone on the fence, maybe this is first time you heard of Trackmania or w/e.. Buy it. Who's here because of PlayStation Plus?
I'm digging if so far.

I love the Checkpoint voice, reminds me of playing 90's arcade racers as a kid.
I love it when racers have a track editor with sharing system in place. It means I can always jump on and play tracks I've never played before. Its basically endless free dlc.
You make the highest quality reviews on the internet.
Your review is incredibly spot on. I love this game but I can't tell you how many times I went to drift and found myself at the start.
+David Donarumo Thanks David
Mentions bronze, silver and gold medals.
You do know theres a track master medal beyond gold that is extremely hard to get
its my first time coming across your channel, very enjoyable review, loved the comedy
+IceIsWater Thanks Icel! Glad you liked it
Honestly This Is A Great Review.
+Expect The Unexpected thanks
I also agree with this review. Funny video, I really loved this . I especially liked the way you showed the rest of thet race at the end . nice Job m8
A whole review on one breath. Unbelievable ;¬ )
+A Hero In Hell lol well maybe some tiny breaths
Great review as always, can't wait to get this game.
As far as music: I like to play my own while playing this game. The thrills you get when you pull an amazing stunt while your favorite part of the song comes up is priceless.

Did you play on PC with Gamepad or on XBOX1? Is there a Splitscreen on PC?
Hey guys good news, you can try out the free BETA on both Xbone and PS4. You just need to use a UPlay account.
Just wanted to say after watching just 5 or so of your videos, my favourite game reviewer on RUclips by a long way. Keep up the good work man! Subbed....
+The Holy Pedro Thanks Holy appreciate that man
"like putting explosives next to a fucking kitchen fork" dude you rock! Fucking love it
+Horribly Awkward Podcast thanks man
A mad max reference? How did he know they’d be free on ps plus this month!?!
Karak, what are your thoughts on the online multiplayer ? I found the 'rooms' to be quite an odd system of pvp, at least from my expierence in the beta. Or am I missing the point of it ?
Great review as always bruh!
+EdFilth thanks

Hay! Is there an option to play single player race, party play with friends, just like in Trackmania Nations 4ever? I see only solo campaign and multiplayer...
30 hours later, and i still haven't beaten it. Unlocking the Black Series tracks takes forever... The game is truly difficult.
Does it have split screen couch co-op ?
+Joseph Lewis covered in the review completely
You're still not done after the Gold medal. There's the green Nadeo medals to collect after that. Good luck, you'll need it!
Amazing review, man! As always!
Just a question: I'm intending to buy it on PC, but I want to play on my TV with a xbox 360 wireless controller. Do you know if it is supported by the PC version?
+Neto Tedesco Ofc It will be :D Xbox controller will work fine, and playing on a tv through your hdmi out on your gpu will also work fine.
This game, and the series, always reminds me of HSX: Hypersonic Extreme. Haven't played that in years, totally picking this up.
+Just Gameplay No Commentary fucking loved Hypersonic Extreme! It's like an offspring of Wipeout and RollerCoaster Tycoon.
DobieMeltfire At least someone else knows about it! Played it so much with one of my friends.
And Trackmania Turbo has been really good so far.
Great review, I hope this game gets a lot of attention, it always feels like the series is on the edges of the mainstream. It deserves to be huge.
+davidevoid thanks man
I've never played a Trackmania game before but I'm keen to try this. The crazy tracks and the editor reminds of a pc game I used to play in the early nineties called Stunts.
+Bezzina82 It is pretty damn insane
I have been a life long trackmania fan and I can't tell you how glad I am to hear that this is worth a buy
+Jayden Young So have I. Sadly it didn't come out unscathed with the removel of the PC personal servers. But rating this title alone for what it offers? Oh ya. Worth it.
+ACG hopefully they patch in the custom hosted pc servers. that was half the magic of trackmania back in the day.
I cannot believe i've never heard of this series until I saw it's announcement during e3. basically, from this review, i got that trackmania is challenging, yet fun. sounds perfect for me.
Your reviews are spot on man! Very professional and very enjoyable. Keep at it buddy!
+Dionysis Tsirigotis (Dio) thanks man
Great game, great review. You just got a new sub.
"because not everyone has a John Holmes sized pipe to the internet". You win the internet, Karak. Also, another great review.
+shawn LOl glad you liked it
is this only a beta? i looked on psn and all that came up was the beta.
With no custom servers I don't see this being a success with long time TM players. That's disappointing. Everything else looks really good.
give it time.
I just tried the Beta on PS4 and holy shit its crazy fun. So many hours flew by, and i was just gonna try it for a bit lol
+Tommy Sasaki I was surprised as well. The gameplay is so good ! But one thing that threw me off was the online multiplayer, more specifically the 'rooms'. I think it's a weird system tbh. Or is it just me ?
MiichielH I haven't tried mp yet. Been busy grinding for gold lol
MiichielH Ok, I tried mp a little. I think its fine. The menues are a little messy until you get used to it. It reminds me of the server browser in Battlefield 4. It has a filter option too. But I wouldnt mind if they had a quick game options as well for those who prefer that.

+James McPherson Yep thats exactly why I make that comparison in the video. It is indeed like that.
I loved the replay comment, cracked me up! ACG you gotta be one of the best reviewers on RUclips!

you covered this game so thoroughly it's insane! im subbing for more expert reviews!
+FlamingPotato 43 thanks Flaming!
Does the game control well on keyboard and mouse?
hey can you do a pokken tournament one if possible?
so what does acg stand for now?
Nothing, just ACG now.
+GRIZZLY_TYCOON Another Cool Guy
It's pronounced ack-guh
+GoBigOrGoHome what?
It's this wheel t800 compatible ?
+honeyhotsauce No clue., Even the devs say to not use steering wheels. Use digital pad on the console controllers or keyboard on the pc
+ACG ok thank you! Can't wait til for your review for uncharted 4 my opinion you're best game reviewer and my 1 source check on games.
Good review! Pre-ordered for PC.
+Adam Chavez thanks adam
Let me ask you a serious question. Why did you decide to ditch the former name?
LOL "like putting explosives next to a kitchen fork". I'm 33, been playing racing games since Rad Racer on the NES, Gran Turismo 1-6, and Trackmania is my favorite of them all! Short, sweet, action packed, outstanding controls. Awesome review
I love trackmania
welcome to the club!
Great, informative video. You definitely sold me!

Very good review!
I might pick this up down the line :)
I had forgotten all about Road Rash! thanks for reminding me of the fond memories.
The best kind of arcade racing ever :D
drifting at 450 kph like a boss :D
love trackmania games. Will buy this for sure.
+iLovveCakes ya its great
Holy crap you just reminded me of a game that was such a big part of my childhood and I completely forgot about it! Trackmania Sunrise, omg I spent so much time goofing around in that game as a kid.
Thanks for a great fucking review and for reminding me of this awesome franchise, getting this for sure!

is there crossplay between pc an ps4??
Great review, can't wait to play this title in a few days!!
+Garret Prenguber THANKS GARRET
is online racing only ghost cars?
No u Can play with 99 other players
You play with others at the same time but you can drive through them.
Great review! now i can go pick it up.
Its in the PS4 Store for sale and its only €15,99 I think I cant just let this offer slip past :)
Just a heads up, Trackmania Turbo isn't the first jump onto console. Wii had a version of Trackmania in 2011. There was also a DS version.
Unless you mean this gen. If so forget it.
Lol real consoles
+Master Race wii sold more units than 360+ps3. statisically, wii. is more of a console than other consoles during its time. BOOM.
EndlessFantasyScience who cares about sales. Think about the games. Especially third party. All the wii ever had was first party. And if you're not a Mario fan then you're out of luck. Only Mario games I like on are galaxy and kart
+Master Race Come on Wii had shovelware titles for to last people years :P
blake7741 lol
Have you ever considered adding a replay value category to your reviews?
+Sleezy Steve no
+Sleezy Steve
The fact that you can play player-created tracks (and that it has 4 player split screen) means it has a lot of replay value. The only time you'll want to stop playing the game is when you'll get sick of racing.
As a car enthusiast I take these games very seriously. Thank you for the great review. I will definitely be picking this up!
+GK Motorsports you bet man
Another thing to buy this game is that its going to be on Playstation VR! Which is one of the reasons I plan on buying it. Don't forget about Trackmaster times in campaign. I don't know if they were added in an update or something, but it seems odd that someone could unlock every track without getting a single Trackmaster time.
This is free for Ps4 Plus this month. Absolutely love it. Used to be top 10 in Nations, and this one feels great.
Excellent review. Glad they went as far as they did with the local multiplayer.
+Conkerkid11 thanks man
After seeing this review, I'm definitely interested picking this game up. +AndyVoong925 thanks!
Reset on the B button? How did someone get paid to make that decision?
+Dan Becker LOL moreso the lack of remap
I need it. Thanks for the review!
+Joe Williams you bet
Nice review :P, Every track mania game that has ever been should just be one game, but they all have the same princeliness game play. :)
Keep it up.
+Richard W thanks
This game is pretty much all of the previous games in one with different tracks and updated effects and such
Hate to be that guy. But this game isn't for Linux, is it (unless it will implements Vulcan)? The only other game that has this style of game that I know of is Distance. But that's still on EA.
On double driver mode is really fun in my opinion. My mate and I have got gold on all of the 200+ tracks!
is your gamer tag acg pro on ps4?
+Barry Huxley no
Ok haha short but sweet reply
Great review, but you might want to work a bit on your transitions from "graphics" to "sound" and so forth. Sometimes I didn't realize you were talking about a new subject, but that might just be me.
+free4one2three Hmm. I thought i put graphics in this one. I usually do but it depends on if I am at the right computer. If not sorry abot that
Nah you did, it just wasn't that clear for me. Just some feedback, it didn't bother me too much :)
"You ain't gettin' shit back button", lol. Nice review, thanks.
Dark Souls of racing. So it is slow, deliberate, and offers sparse, but immersive lore.
Never heard of Trackmania before and this looks really fun. Thanks for the great review.
Nice review...informative
+James Keane thanks
game looks hella fun and its for free now on ps plus
Four player couch Co-op split screen hell yeah just one more question how does it stack up to Modnation Racers?
I'm assuming it's not like a cart racer but ModNation also had an option to turn items off just called Pure Racing.
I desperately miss Modnation Racers and the community is still for the most part alive... but the servers will be turned off I believe, on July 10th. :(
I don't have a Nintendo Switch or Wii U. and Little Big Planet Karting was an unfortunate 2 steps backwards.
I currently have Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed ... super fun but the PS4 needs a Kart Racer in the same vein as Modnation Racers was. Game Mechanix wear second to none and they still are.
Great review! I'm sold
+CheekBoys thanks cheek
Awesome review. Informative and very entertaining. If you want to try this out there is a 3.4GB downloadable trial version on the XBone. I have spent the past 2 hours trying to get gold on the 5 campaign tracks in the trial. Very addictive.
+Travis Welton appreciate it Travis
I'm kind of glad I watched this before picking it up now. I was big into Trackmania years ago on PC but without the same server quality im not sure its for me :(
Also, first time watching a vid of yours and it was great :)
+Holding94 Thanks so much man
