Great review, I had that moment in the game where instead of going to gym, why not work my ass off and buy myself the machines. Damn lost like 40 to 60 days until I made my own gym, but I was always at 1 in every skill, and always getting mugged when I had just the right amount to buy my next piece. Damn, those buggers even stopped me from entering the bus. But it was totally worth it after that.
The one I wished they did is that certain foods would add to certain stats but take away from others, like soda would get a little more calories but you also have an energy boost that gives you 75% less energy consumption throughout half the day. But you can turn those calories into strength points by burning them off in exersizing. I would have liked to have seen the character get bulkier, skinnier, sleaker and whatnot depending on your stats, your eating habits and so on. Managing time could have done for some improvement but basically aside from deeper stat customization... its actually very great.
Great review! I personally have played this solid for a few hours now and loved every minute of it, the music is catchy rather than annoying and it doesn't grate listening to it over and over. Perhaps there is a little too much of 'the sims' in it though!
Punch Club looks like a really interesting game. Its a fighting sim/tycoon game but with a 16 bit retro graphics style. I like the pop culture references that the game has. The music that plays with its blips and bleeps is pure retro and I like it as well. The game only costs $10 which I think is a great price. You've definitely encouraged me to pick this one up. Thanks for another great video and keep it up!
I've always wanted to start my mma career.. it's just I'm scared of blood I'm scared of being hit too hard i don't like taking my shirt off and i don't like training or going to gyms. I also prefer talking my way out of violent situations. Give me 1 beer though.. and all those things i mentioned are forgotten and my mma career is on track and possible
This is the first video I found of yours as I wanted confirmation before I buy this game, but I must say your reviews are actually very good and helpful.
You said you play other MMA simulators. Do you have any suggestions that are similar to this? The only games I can think of are things like Hybrid Heaven, Absolver, and that Karate game (can't think of the name of it, but it's on my wishlist.)
This seems like many of the games I played on my Amiga back in the early 90's. The nostalgia is real. Might check it out just for old times sake. Great review, Karak. Out of interest, roughly how long is the play time to finish?
I think this game is quite good. I bought it at Karak's suggestion. No regrets. Kinda strange game, but it is much fun. We are getting very close to 100,000! Redundant to say , but as always, excellent review, sir.
Kairosoft? You filthy casual.... lol. Just kidding I love Kairosoft's stuff. I was keeping my eye on this one. I might wait for the mobile release before buying though. Let's see, but I'll definitely get it eventually.
+Spencer Dean Hmm. if you want to lower its its impossible lOL hahaha. Kidding. Go into your account and it will show you how much your donating. Then adjust it. It should be easy...should
Love the vids/reviews, and generally agree with them, but am really gonna have to disagree with that "Buy" conclusion: "wait for sale," at best. In it's current incarnation of v1.04, this is not the MMA simulator you're making it out to be; rather, it's a hard-assed lesson in futility and mock-realism, that DEMANDS you build a certain way if you wish not to sacrifice your firstborn on the altar of RNGesus. This is a game, through its mechanics, discourages multiple playthroughs, on the grounds that there is only one true way to play, with other styles being woefully inept.
I found this game to be tedious. The stat loose option if you don't do fights is bullshit. The game does more right then wrong but eh, ended up not being up my alley.
this game is broken when using way of the bear tree, was trying to make my guy fight like rocky but strength just makes you unable to hit anything even when trying to balance it with stamina and some agility. some reason agility alone makes you unstoppable and is the only way to really beat the game, hopefully they fix this for people who prefer to play a boxer =/
What a shill review. You skipped over all the negatives. It's repetitive, it's demanding, it's punishing and when you win tough fights there is very little to nothing to show for it. The lows are very low, and the highs are just above neutral. Fights quickly become as monotonous as sitting watching your character ride a motorcycle or use a jackhammer. The game also seems to have slow downs and seizes the farther in you get. Overall great concept, great visual presentation and audio, poor gameplay. I'd give it a 6/10, wait till its on sale. I think you didn't play more than 2 or 3 hours of the game based on your review.
+Nate Robertson What a needlessly immature post. Its fun to just write things. I mean I could lie and pretend I had slow downs and seizes so that you felt more comfortable with the review but your comfort level doesn't really mean much to others.
No, you should talk about pros and cons, bacause not everybody like things you like. You should be honest with us in first place, not with yourself. BTW, This answer alone warn me about your reviews. Shitty attitude.
Ya for sure. One thing I won't do is let group thinkers or children run rampant in posts and pretend that there version of the truth is somehow magically right versus someone else. Thats for IGN forums and objectively bad subjective thinkers to go and enjoy elsewhere. As for you questioning honesty well I haven't met someone with ESP before so all I can personally say is Congrats on being an xman or...well maybe more like a d or E man. But hey its a start.
I couldnt finish it. Would i recommend this game? no. Balancing the stats with progress and your money becomes tedious and unfun later on. I enjoyed it in the beginning and then the shortcomings reared their ugly collective heads and refused to go away. This game has some serious balancing issues.
I wish there was a AAA type of market for a game like this. Something like fight night where you manage a fighter would be so crazy.
This is actually the most well presented review I've seen on YT of anything.. Damn!
thanks man

+Alexander de Montfort There's a massive Fight Club reference right near the beginning.
shady4091 Was it a split-second image of Tyler Durden's junk by any chance?
Alexander de Montfort No but, fuck, I wish it was haha.
You forgot to add in the fact that he a superhero.

UFC should introduce diplomacy as a core fighting structure.
That's nothing to be proud of.

+KefkaMatic It's currently getting reviewed by Apple!
"If you like the video, maybe subscribe." How refreshing. People who beg for subscriptions are so annoying. Subscribed for that alone.

Is Karak a real name or just a nickname inspired by Hellboy evil gods?
+Petre Daniel Its inspired by the 1000 year old city in real life as well as Warhammer fiction
Kairosoft? You filthy casual.... lol. Just kidding I love Kairosoft's stuff. I was keeping my eye on this one. I might wait for the mobile release before buying though. Let's see, but I'll definitely get it eventually.
Hey how do I change my patreon donation amount?
