Duh.....
Remember Lip Gloss and Black?
THOSE WERE THE DAYS
were
I really love how this song sounds live
It’s amazing how 1 man leaving a really talented and hardcore band can turn it into this… this song pales in comparison to their old material
I was a bit skeptical when I heard about the split... honestly I'm into it. Sounds great.
Tho I've been a fan of saller for a while
Have you ever heard of Alarcon? He sang on a few of their songs and sounds great! Kind of a more Avenged Sevenfold type sound.
So youre a fan of sellouts?
@@adayonearth7342 no I haven't but I'll definitely check them out!
This is so epic!
They still got it.
Atreyu gives me life
I miss Alex, but I'm looking forward to the new album.
RIP Atreyu
2020
⚰
I love this!!
Alex's voice and scream was so distinct. I don't know what exactly happened but you're wrong if you think his scream is worse than someone or anyone cause no one can ever mimic his unique and passionate scream. Thus his voice is the only one, of only one quality, no one can best him at making that distinct voice and scream of his. Sorry for my broken english here but it isn't as broken as my disappointment from this. I miss Atreyu, I miss Alex
Yeah I mean for the radio it would be okay for somebody who's been listening to this band since the beginning it's just not the same..
Never heard them on the radio lmao. They were a definite hidden gem but now they just are not worth it without alex.
All the old bands are doing radio style stuff BFMV lost my respect this ain’t bad compared to the last bfmv album it sounded like techno metal
@@KJT-gulflinecoastal yeah I hear that if you want to listen to somebody good just a suggestion if you don't already try The Amity Affliction they're amazing!!! But yeah Asking Alexandria like you said a lot of those bands totally blow now if I could just go back 15 years lol!
@@joshie886 yea man I like a lil bit of both of them I haven’t really looked into all their stuff like I have other bands but I need to because I like their instrumentals for sure
Cool to see Will Sasso singing for Atreyu now, all jokes a side I really dig this song 🤘
Haha!!!
He Will. All Glory To Jesus Christ.
Metal will always save us. That forbidden 5th
I mean it's not bad but we can all hear what's missing...
Yeah, his screams!
@John Miller he played tight live what are you talking about
the reason to listen to this band anymore. its not even about alex anymore. this song is complete aids
Dude wasn’t garbage but he couldn’t sing and that’s what they wanted in the verses instead of screaming/growls. Alex was amazing growing the verses but when they tried having him sing more it just didn’t work live.
@@zagreatandini2345 Brandon was meant to be the clean singer Alex always just wanted to scream and was pushed into the doing more melodies. I don’t know man he pulled it off live and didn’t have a single issue with his cleans or screams live he was pretty tight, he just doesn’t have a huge vocal range so his cleans don’t have any wow factor
I feels like over the last few albums Alex and the dirty vocals were basically pushed out of the band. First they stopped him from screaming and he sang. It kinda killed the vibe. I miss Atreyu form The Curse.
You hit the nail on the head. Maybe they will pull it together and give the fans what they want.
Yup
So happy for them !
Saw them multiple time : Montreal, Rhode Island, new York, Quebec, Montebello. Been a fan for now 16years. Love EVERY ALBUM. Will look foward for this one even if I have big apprehension...
Favorite songs :
Her portrait in black
Right side of the bed
You eclipsed by me
The crimson
Start to break
Long live
When two are one
Blow
Into the open
House of gold
Lip gloss and black
Someone standing on my chest
I went to see Atreyu live very recently
And they were fucking epic on stage
But I'll NEVER be able to hear this song the same again
Before playing this Brandon informed the crowd how the band's tour bus caught fire and burned down earlier that day, luckily no one got hurt.
So Brandon requested everyone to sing along
But instead of saying Save Us
-He told us to say "Save Bus"-
I'll never forget it lol
I had to watch this soon or the anxiety later would be harder... i like it, like too much... but even with the awesome vocals and the esence of atreyu... it's hard not to miss Alex's touch.
Saying this as a long time fan, and still fan of the band - there is little to no “essence of Atreyu” in this - it sounds like a different band, which is the route they should of taken. Let Atreyu be buried with dignity and heavy music.
@@calebcrowe9206 as a long time fan of atreyu. Brandon is a bitch and took over the band and forced Alex out.
@@crapbag666 Yep. Brandon is trash. You can see his evolution in pictures from respectable metal musician to just another bald pop wannabe. He looks like SUCH a douche now.
RIP Atreyu.... This is just Hell or Highwater 2.0, gonna have to check into Alex's next project.
I still can't believe I got to see and talk with Brandon at a small club in Oklahoma City when Hell or Highwater was just getting started. I'll never forget that!
Their music used to be so intense and in your face now its just blaaaaa blaaaa blaaa blaaaaaaaaa
Please atreyu we all want you to go heavy again like the crimson, lip gloss and black...
Like if you agree
Heavy 🤣 that was emo/screamo.. they have matured and grown up now
@@murder13love they were never "screamo" they were always metalcore and no they did not mature at all. They mainly brandon took over the band and kicked Alex out.
@@crapbag666 ok 🤣 thats why songs like falling down exist.. in fact, the whole album.. it was nothing like their original stuff.. and fyi, it was 100% emo/scene at the time they started releasing music👍
Alex Spencer bro you are probably new to this grid.. they were always metalcore back in their early days.. ,😂😂 it's just to stage a greater audience they are taking their shit the other way
@@pierregoodman319 of course they are changing for a new audience but in the uk, they were 100% concidered a scene/emo band... im not shitting on that as i loved them back then and still like them now, im 32.. i listened to them back in the early 2000s, whenever they released their first album, i would have been about 15/16.. dress it up however you like but only the emo and scene kids listened to them.. 🤷♂️ then they dropped off the radar just before lead sails paper anchor, which is actually one of my favourite albums.. the sound appealed to me so much more than the original stuff.. was for me, a more professional sound. They seem to be stuck trying to recreate that sound ever since, with no success..
As for turning to a more commercial sound.. if they wernt making good money on their original sound, can you blame them for wanting to appeal to a wider audience?!.. The problem with that is that you risk bec9ming the new BMTH.. a truly dreadful band that all the kids love now and have no idea of their roots.
If you want a band that has dabbled with commercial, stayed true to themselves, experimented/chopped and changed genres, built a phenomenal fanbase and still makes music as good as day 1.. A7X without doubt are THE success story..
I gave this a legit chance. Listened to it 10 times. This isn't Atreyu. This is garbage. You won't change my mind.
i agree. its actually so shit
I honestly didn't think I'd like the new stuff with a band member missing but I actually really like it...
Been listening for 15 years and appreciate all Alex did for Atreyu but y’all still amaze me with your power both vocally and instrumentally !! Fuck ya 🤘
Ehhhh, its a no from me. I like Brandon's voice but its a lot better when Alex and Brandon balance each other out.
Came here to say this
Alex was barely on their last 4-5 albums lol. Though I still def hear him in this.
@@orchidmalevolence9726 know ill nino?
I feel the same way
@@orchidmalevolence9726 thats not true at all but mkay
Did not expect Brandon to go full time vocal in Atreyu, strange to see but actually makes a lot of sense with Alex departing. Sounding great, I'm pumped
Brandon forced Alex out
@@crapbag666 to be honest I haven't heard much around what happened. I hope they were much more on good terms but damn that sucks if that's the case
@@BFMVrocks34 oh its apparently the case if brandon isn't doing the drums. We could have had like what slayer did by having Marc in the middle performing screams but nooooo the big baby wanted to get out in front when he only performed choruses and did drums so you know there's something big of this.
The best song!!! Awesome!
Masterpiece
The main beat/riff immediately reminds me of Finn Balors theme. Am I right?
Yes!!!
RIP Atreyu. 2020 claims another
?
Long live Atreyu!
Amazing atreyu 4life 🤘❤️
Holy shit this song slaps! I havent listened to Atreyu for a while and went on a journey to see if they had anything recent up and i just discovered this song, safe to say i am impressed. This railed Me! 🤘
yes
Huge inspiration to us as a band. Keep killing it guys. This song is awesome!
Had this stuck in my head for days now thanks to Primordial Radio. What a track! (Ey Up PR Fam!)
Sounds really good. Nice sound combination. 👌👍🤘
I miss old Atreyu so much. It hurts my heart. The curse, suicide notes and butterflies, LSPA. Those 3 albums alone will always have a special place in my heart. I’m not liking the direction but I will always support atreyu.
Wow really digging this like that they did the Queen thing that was cool and that ending was brutal too! Gave me goosebumps and butterflies to hear this. In my opinion I think they’ll do just fine in their new direction and I am excited to hear more going to start my listening spree with Atreyu on Monday and listen to it all from the beginning up to now.
Who knew Kratos could sing?
THIS KINDA SOUNDS LIKE SKILLET IN CERTAIN PARTS! 🤘💀🤘
Remember when Saller said this was one of their heaviest songs..
I think we just read the same article
So you also came back to check how heavy this song actually is?
@@Balnius yeah, it's good, i like it, but it's defo not one of their heaviest. There have been songs on in our wake which were heavier
This song is fantastic, but it's not long enough! (Just a joke, but man it feels like it should be on loop!!)
Yes!! I see you atreyu!! 🤟🖤🖤🖤🖤 you will always be my favorite band.
Yeah Atreyu rocks.
What is this Hell or Highwater 2.0? Alex wasn’t lying when he said #fakeheavy
I thought the same thing
While She Sleep, Escape the Fate, Hollywood Undead and now this! This day is getting better!!
Cool song
Plot twist: Porter starts his own black metal band. Those screams are good, he's been doing them live too. And for me that's the only gain in the new era of Atreyu.
Atreyu gone butt-rock.. another hard lost..
To be fair they've had a few butt rock albums at this point. The comeback album after the hiatus was amazing though then back to butt rock and now more butt rock. But they could go heavy again. Stranger things have happened after all.
@@thenightstocker3219 i actually enjoyed the last two albums maybe because Alex was there. 😂
