    I would love for a film to be made covering the rainhill trials and the life of George Stephenson. A lot of the replicas are made and I’m sure the makers would love for their hard work to be featured on the big screen to recreate this amazing moment in British history

    how utterly amazing it must have been to the people who witnessed this in 1829..... a revolution in many ways!

    3:43 I've especially wanted to mention that I personally love this video showing a good time period 'bout the official 9-day-long event known as the legendary Rain Hill Trials from back in the year of exactly 1829 respectfully to see who'll win the official £500 prize as well as a specifically certain contract to construct locomotives for the Liverpool & Manchester Railway; which certainly no doubtably happens to be exactly what Robert Stephenson himself achieved with his own official creation of the Stephenson's Rocket as the Stephenson's Rocket very much considerably easily managed to haul 26,000 lbs SINCE that's basically 3x the weight of the famous locomotive designed by Robert Stephenson himself very much considerably well-known as the Stephenson's Rocket as required for the legendary Rain Hill Trials! In fact, it's completely obviously clear that I personally think that they certainly SHOULD DEFINITELY consider having another re-enactment of the legendary Rain Hill Trials over @ the B & O Railroad Museum in Baltimore with official copies of each of the replicas right along with a certain fully restored version of the famous locomotive designed by Robert Stephenson himself known as the Stephenson's Rocket with plenty of modern features including modern brakes that'll be used when pulling official American origin-styled rolling stock WHILE bein' completely obviously equipped with an officially very special strength boosting gadget in the framework to help increase pulling power that the famous locomotive designed by Robert Stephenson himself known as the Stephenson's Rocket from the year of 1829 respectfully certainly WOULD DEFINITELY be no secret able to pull more than 3x their own weight WHILE ALSO DEFINITELY still basically having the official precise 50 PSI working boiler pressure! In fact, it's completely obviously clear that I personally decided to restore the original version of the famous locomotive designed by Robert Stephenson himself known as the Stephenson's Rocket from the year of 1829 respectfully to her full former glory along with copies of the replicas of the other 4 locomotives that the locomotive designed by Robert Stephenson himself known as the Stephenson's Rocket had beaten @ the legendary Rain Hill Trials by default when some of the other contenders had multiple teething troubles!

    Here is an interesting fact the novelty was a fast engine but broke down to frequently at the trials

    • @tonynewton2250
      @tonynewton2250 6 лет назад +4

      Here's another one - it was fast like a racing bicycle is fast, and it would pull about as many trucks or coaches as a bicycle would!

      Tony Newton yes Robert Stephenson was actually reported to be greatly worried by the novelty

    It's fun to watch, but i hope they do it again some time. 2005 is some time ago. And i hope they do a test with the replica's then, wat the best steam engine is. (because they had some problems with the originals back then in 1829, execpt the Rocket). By the way, the Rocket is my favorite steam engine of all.

    @DiegoLiger True - there are a lot of things in the video which weren’t there in 1829 - me for one! If you have a working replica of an 1830 loco it would be churlish to omit it just for the sake of historical accuracy :D

      No, it was built at Robert Stephenson Co. engine works in Newcastle, dismantled and taken by road, canal and sea to Liverpool where it was re-assembled for the trials.
