Some wishes sometimes, never get granted, and this one of them. John wishes the best for, Harold even through there never going be a relationship between them, he wants Harold to be happy, but he does wish it was him and Harold. In his heart John knowns it would been wonderful, dangerous, and epic, but real. Because it couldn't been anything else but that.
