I really liked the one for the pots and pans. I'm getting older and getting down on my knees is sometimes hard to do.
Always use full extension drawer slides. You can see all the way to the back of the drawer. As contractor, l have seen drawers that only pullout less than half way.
I have always wanted to to see a lazy Susan in your ceiling that goes up to the attic one for pots and pans one for appliances and one for Glases and plates and one for spices .motorized that with a push of button lowers your lazy Susan to unload dishwasher and to get pots and pans .You have all that attic space that could be framed up in roof with easy access to all the crazy things that get in the way
I’m redoing my kitchen and was looking for some great storage ideas thank you I will use most of them
Loved some of these ideas.....thanks!

I just use boxes of all sizes. You can cut them, decorate if desired and pull out. Most of my boxes are FREE! Ex:soda box, cereal box, shoes & boots etc... 🤗

If you are replacing an old sink consider this. Usually the pipe from the sink bottom connects to the drain with a vertical tail pipe (two for double sinks) If you do a bit of searching at your big box store you can find a pvc drain pipe with a right angle that will screw to the bottom of the sink drain similar to the standard tail pipe. Point the pipe toward the back wall and use a transition slip joint fitting to standard 1 1/2 inch (or 1 1/4 inch) PVC Next for dual sinks, connect the two drains together along the back wall. Then use a 90 (or 45) elbow as needed to change from horizontal to vertical. You then need a P trap (or S) trap to hold the water that prevents drain gas from flowing up and out your sink drain. Somewhere you also need a vent pipe that connects to the vent pipe in the wall. If that is not accessible most codes permit installation of a screw on air vent. Big box stores carry these for around six bucks. Keeney 1-1/2-in Plastic Mechanical Plumbing Air Admittance Vent $5.98 at Lowes) You should dry fit all the pieces together before you do your glue up to make sure you have what you want. I installed pull out drawers and made the whole frame unit removable (two screws in the frame to the cabinet floor). If I should need access to the plumbing it is easy.
This is bloody brilliant! Thanks for the ideas! THis is what I exactly need right now!

I love organization ideas. These have been really nice. I am ready to change my cabinet doors to glass. Do you have any suggestions on what types of doors and how they should be installed?

Lookup Elva system in the container store for an over the pantry door track system. The track clamps to the top and bottom of door and you can piecemeal the bins that hook on. Great for renters. Not the cheapest, but affordable. The rack will run about 25 to 30 dollars and each bin is about 15 dollars. Start small and add a bin or so each month.
Elfa not elva, sorry.

Cool Beans, great ideas! Can you do Organize Your Bathroom. I bought a three drawer roll away. But wondering what I could do with a wall to put stuff on and organize under the sink. Small bathroom. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing your kitchen tips.Godbless
I like the cupboard idea but I know some people who would be concerned about heat and smell. i.e.e with a oven/micro combo, and the toaster. I guess a slide out shelf would work for the toaster (Or even a kettle) though.
Thanks! Great ideas!
I love beautiful useful kitchens
2.30 a few dollars? Those things are expensive as fuck. :S
They aren't that hard to make. Look for a diy version. :)

diver - actually years ago I knew a lady who was doing just that. She also got some furniture from an old goat who owned an antique store. I wonder now if she was getting a little off her mortgage too.
Great ideas!
I took the last one and instead of a pull out drawer in front of the sink, I put it in front of our stove top so I can pull out spices. :)

Thanks for sharing. These a great tips thanks.
It should be pointed out that with a small exercise in geometry, it can be shown that a Lazy Susan in a corner base unit does not save any more space than if the corner was simply boxed out.
I agree it doesn’t provide more space, but it does allow much easier access to the things in the cabinet.
this vid blows everything way out of proportion

We have an extremely small kitchen one wall about 13 feet contains the sink, stove and the dishwasher. The left corner comes out and has a few drawers and cupboards underneath. Other than that, facing the sink, on the right there's a doorway to the bathroom behind you is a refrigerator in the corner and a stairway to the basement… As you keep turning clockwise, there is the way into the living room/dining room area and then you come back to the L-shaped cabinet that I just told you stuck out from the left. Unfortunately we had a fire… But, we were told that we may be able to push the sink wall back towards the garage and maybe push the bathroom wall/door in and use the walls… The reason I say that is there is another entrance to the bathroom from my guest bedroom. I WAS putting pots and pans in the bathroom and in a dry sink I had in the dining room. There's nowhere to put anything. I would love to hear your suggestions on how to make this space more usable and yet look nice. If you need me to draw something quickly let me know.
They have just taken it all the way down to the studs and I need help quickly!
Thanks!
genius solutions, yes .... but only if you have deep pockets ....
How ahmazing! I despise that under counter corner SPACE WASTER. Getting lazy Susan tomorrow!
Brilliant!
👍 Great upgrades!

Great video! Very smart and useful tips
hacks that can be used in rental properties would be great. The kitchens are often poorly designed and you can't do much about it so any hacks for that would be fantastic. Thanks
if you totally take the doors off of the cabinet then it is code to be able to put a plug in it. I tried four of the hacks. I put the pull-out drawers in the kitchen cabinets. a total of $42 and 2 hours for 6 shelves. the lazy Susan's worked for me in the corner because I put a triangle in the back corner on the two sides I stored my holiday platters fits perfect. the hanging rack under the counter I moved to the ceiling because everyone in the house is tall. use that space under the counter for my gumbo pots. inside the gumbo pots I store my flower, sugar and pasta containers. again on a pull out rack. the tea kettle stays on the stove in the toaster is on its own Shelf to the right of the stove. I sort of like a phone caddy sized Shelf. works great!
Thanks for the ideas, but some of them won't work at all. Heat and dirt generated by the working appliances will quickly degrade and then destroy cupboards that they are stored in. Sponges and brushes stuck in the fold-out flap under the sink and not being able to air dry will cause mold, bad smells, and soap scum to quickly accumulate in that flap. I speak from the experience. Two-level lazy susans for corner cabinets cost from $50 and up in hardware stores, so it is definitely not a few dollars. It would be nice if you verified the facts before posting the video.
Thanks so much for putting up this comment! I was thinking of custom making a cupboard for my appliances that would fit my tiny tiny kitchen. Thanks for the warning, I would never have thought of the grease and that would've been a lot of work to go through just to have a harder-to-use kitchen in the end.
No problem. Maybe if you made them out of natural wood and put some ventilation holes in them?.. I personally had a really bad incident with an appliances cupboard, but mine was enclosed and made out of particleboard. At certain point moisture and heat made the whole structure to simply collapse on itself. I was standing next to it when it happened, so the boards, appliances, and other stuff all fell on me. I am really glad that my hubby was at home and was able to quickly pull me from under all of that or I'd end up in a hospital.
Anna Gray Wow, that's super scary. It is really lucky he was there. The ventilation might work for the heat but it won't stop the grease. Using a metal cupboard/shelving would probably prevent the cupboard from trying to kill me and would be easier to clean. (maybe using a grease resistant paint would help). I'd still have to lift out my stuff to clean around it all the time though. I'm trying to design the laziest kitchen I can have.

So in a few word the cabinet was cheaply made and after a few years of service it fell apart.
His analogies crack me up 🤣
I HATE corner cupboards Lazy Susan or not. If I could design a dream house I would put the kitchen in a separate building with an enclosed breezeway. I hate kitchens and I hate the smell of food in the house. Except baked goods. That’s delightful!
Great ideas, what can be done for apartment living when you plan on staying for a while

I was looking for organizing ideas... not a new kitchen, I’m not gonna call an electrician to hide my microwave 🤣
THANK YOU
How about some solutions that fit in a rented apartment, that don't require installing special drawers, pullouts or lazy Susans
Sturdy baskets with handles that I could pull out were very helpful to me while I was renting. I measured my lower cabinets and bought wicker ones with fabric lining for my pots that I could just slide out. For the pantry, I used plastic dollar store baskets to sort. One for pasta and rice, one for for spices, one for baking supplies. Different sizes depending on what I was storing, plus ones that stack for smaller items like sauce packets and tea bags.
Candice, that makes much more sense than the hacks, also much easier on the budget!

Maybe you should think some up for yourself.

Damn! All good ideas

Well these are great ideas. I'll get right on these when I get a third job so I can afford the "small price" of professional installs.😒
I'm glad to see pantry's making a comeback. No cabinet gives you the type of storage a pantry closet does. I remodeled my kitchen years ago and knocked out the pantry and replaced it with cabinets. Meh, the pantry was a better reach and the storage was better.
Love it
Excellent video..
I wouldn't call most of these hacks. Could have just said "Upgrade your old kitchen and buy a new modern kitchen"
Yeah, most of these look pretty expensive!

What?
The late show with Stephen Colbert episode one season one
I love Colbert but what does that have to do with kitchen hacks? Now I have to look it up.
great ideas
These idea are beautiful - unfortunately I’m renting and am not paying anyone to upgrade my cheap obsolete kitchen. The cupboards in my rental are of such poor quality that the (hollow-core) doors cracked when I tried to install a paper towel holder! One of the son’s of the landlord is a set builder for TV shows -and I swear, our kitchen is basically a staging prop!
I need to find renter friendly organization ideas that apply to older- built pre-1930’s apartments and homes. - basically, shit electrical work, no closet space, crumbling walls water stains and damage. Don’t even ask how much monthly rent we pay for this - you don’t want to know.
I'd like to see a solution for the Saucepan Lids...!
Nice idea.
First idea of putting your appliances in a cabinet is a good idea but unfortunately not to code, you cannot install a plug in a cabinet, at least not in Canada anyways.
Inspection Belec - You can in the U.S ... It's called an appliance cabinet actually. BTW ... Is there anything at all that isn't regulated in Canada?! (Geez.)
So what do they do with garbage disposals? Hardwire them in, or just toss the refuse out the back door for the bears and raccoons? lol
I have a corner cabinet for a corner sink. It's worse to organize. I can't install a Lazy-Susan. Baskets don't work and figuring out how to use drawers that pull out and still optimize my space seems ominous. I'd remodel, however, it's not currently an option. I think rolling drawers would be my best solution, I'm just having trouble figuring out how to capture the most for my space.
more ideas for the dreaded lower kitchen cabinet please.
Thanks,
I have a tiny house and I need to refurnish it I used to live in an apartment but I was trying to bring the things that I had with me because I thought that I was going to purchase another home but I wanted to sing this one and I got this small house I guess Ikea is the key to small tiny homes
