GSX-S750 - Rear Wheel Removal and Installation

With that said, in this episode I am removing and reinstalling the rear wheel on Suzuki's 2018 GSX-S750. I put a new Continental tire on it recently but the new tire was out-of-round (think of it as mildly egg-shaped) and caused vibration when I rode it. Therefore, I ordered a new Dunlop GPR300 from my local shop and I am taking the wheel to them for the tire installation. I am also doing a post service test ride.
While this procedure is performed on a specific motorcycle, it is applicable to a wide variety of motorcycles.

Surprised you don't mt. and balance your own tires with all that you do yourself. I just today changed my front with my HF with just updated Mojo bar and blocks. Should have done the Mojo stuff years ago!
Could you link where u got those swing arm spools?
The spools were on the bike when I bought it, sorry.
I always use moly grease on axles to prevent galling. Is that overkill here? As far as torque - it seems high in the manual at 115Nm, and I used around 75. The reasoning is that the wheel is held in place by both the axle bolt and the chain adjuster, and at a certain point you might stress the bearings. what do you think?
I'm always hesitant to argue with the factory manuals (though they are occasionally wrong). I think the internal spacers in the wheel keep the bearings from getting overstressed even though you may feel like you're overdoing it. Using moly grease shouldn't damage anything and I always put a thin layer of grease on the axle when I pull a wheel.

Slide a piece of wood under the wheel so you don't have to hold it's weight and try to make everything fall into place at the same time

any idea why my rear axle is stuck? it’s on a 2015 it went in smooth as butter
Also there’s a popping noise when i roll my wheel wether the chain is tight or loose
@joemills It's a good idea to grease the axle when installing it (helps it come out easier). It sounds like chain wear. Check your sprockets for wear (front and rear). Also, check the chain rollers to see if they're all there and if there are any kinks in the chain. Popping nioses aren't good.
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 i greased the axle pretty good when putting it in. I think what happened is i accidentally overtightened the shit out of my chain when adjusting it. i’m gonna take it in to get a new chain and sprocket and hopefully that fixes it. I’m not even too sure what a chain roller is 😬
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 I made sure to keep track of all of my washers and everything also. Hoping the new chain and sprockets fixes it.
@@joemommaganja Sorry about that! Overtightening the chain will definitely shorten chain and sprocket life.
