I love the projects you do, such a good lesson.....reduce, reuse, recycle, rather than always buying new expensive stuff

Very impressed! You learned and understand your tractor at a level few owners ever do. Congrats and hope to see you build a enclosure for it.
    Again, just terrific!

    Neato!
I just bought a 1978 L245DT, and it could use some restoration love too. I’m already using it around my small farm.
Mine won’t be torn down any more than I can put back together in a day or two, since I’m using it as I go.
    Thanks for the inspiration
    A few questions:
What did you use for the blue paint?
How is your exhaust routed? Mine has a stack. I like yours out of the way, that seems nice
Where is your hydraulic tank? Mine is attached to the vertical arm of the loader under the control valve.

Looks good but you shoulda scrubbed the tires and coated them with tire dressing for the final reveal.

I'm a big fan of these old Japanese tractors. I have an L275 that i am restoring as I write this. they make a sandblaster that is a pressure washer attachment. you can just run play sand through it for 5-6 dollars/50 lb bag. this is how i cleaned/am cleaning my parts. I then go over it with POR 15 to neutralize any rust. Also, I found a guy on ebay that remade every decal for me to very exacting standards. I have a good bit of money invested. How many spray bombs did. you use?

I loved your work on that tractor. I am in love with the kubota brand, but in Brazil it is not common. I have a small tractor, but from a brand called Agrale. What matters is that we have help working in the field, right?

Radical! Big tractor for not so big property or am I missing something in the back story?

Thanks! 😄 I have 2.5 acres but I am constantly doing projects and I wanted this tractor to save my back and cut down on the amount of digging by hand.

I guess never heard of tire shine.

    • @SimonSaysDIY
      @SimonSaysDIY  4 дня назад +1

Haha 😂 the tires were in rough shape and would get all muddy the first time I used it so I figured, what’s the use. 😊

True, but they would look really good for just a few minutes. Your tractor does look good tho.

First, is there anything you are NOT good at? I'd love to know. Second, it is a mystery to me why you don't yet have a hair/beard care or Puma sponsorship by now.

200 hours....ughhhhh. You used the same paint on the manifold as the engine it appears? You have any burnoff? Also, can alternators not be painted? I may have screwed that up if the answer is no
