This is Eddie’s pattern, isn’t it? Breeze in, say something deeply personal and emotional yet directly to the point that he knows the other person needs to hear, then duck out. I like to think these sort of things are actually difficult for him, but he recognizes when someone needs it, so he does it any ways, even though he is fighting a deep fear of being vulnerable. Eddie is a good man because he is a brave man, and does what he thinks is needed, even if it is hard. ❤️
You know, you made a very powerful statement right there. I feel like I'm inadvertently flooded by a compilation of those exact moments right now. You're awesome can we be friends
Of course it's everything when your addict afraid to be alone with your own devices scared of what to do of course it's going to be tough being a recovering addict myself I know what bobby was going through
What really got me was Eddie's "Literally the least I could do, Bobby. Thank you!". It showed how expressing your feelings and thanking someone does not cost you anything but could quite literally save another person's life or keep them from going over the edge. Let's keep that in mind and show appreciation for someone we are close to in the near future, y'all...
I think if Eddie had stayed any longer that Bobby would have broken down like he did with Hen and Buck. He looked like he was starting to get teary eyed. I was afraid for a moment that Bobby was gonna drink anyways and that’s why he wanted Eddie to stay, to help him resist. But I was relieved to see he was able to resist anyways after their talk. I’d been waiting for a heart to heart talk after their last talk. If Eddie hadn’t stopped by, who knows how far Bobby could have slipped. Yes Athena had told him it wasn’t his fault but sometimes you need to hear it from someone who can relate before it sinks in.
Totally agreed. Doing everything in his power to make it better for everyone, not self centered at all thinking about everyone else before himself, rising again no matter how many times the life let him down.. he is a gem
So are not going to talk about when Bobby pour the alcohol down the drain? This is a major moment for himself after everything he has went through this series. From the people that he's helped and the lives he has saved, he no longer has to go back to what causes his pain in the first place.
It was awesome for his character. Not gonna lie though, it hurt to see that very high-quality whiskey go down the drain, lol (I know, it's really colored water or something).
Bobby and Eddie are very similar and compliment each other is so many ways. They are parallels of each other and I feel this scene represents this well
This is a great scene, but did anybody else notice that when Eddie came in he said he couldn't stay long because he has to pick up Christopher, and when he left he said he couldn't stay for dinner because Christopher has friends over and he can't leave Carla alone with them. It made me laugh but overall, love this moment between these 2.
As someone who’s been where Bobby is, I understood the panic in being alone and wanting Eddie to stick around. Thankfully, he recognized that his disease was running riot and fought back ❤️
I was so afraid when Bobby took out the bottle of alcohol and felt so relieved when he poured it down in the sink. This is just a show, but I love this show as it shows loving relationships between the characters in best possible way compared to other shows and just not ready to see to get any one of them ruined.
He has these moments of vulnerability that kinda spring out of no where to remind us that addiction is a constant. But this time the little lick of his lips after he opened the bottle made those demons real
It takes a strong man to come to grips with he past and realize his future with Athena and the kids and have the strength to pour the bottle down the drain congratulations Bobby Gloria Fox
no but when this scene happened, I thought it was going to go a completely different route. the camera focused earlier in the episode on a piece of glass with his blood on it. I thought they were going for self harm and I was like. "they're showing it not only in a male, but an adult male? I really hope they don't bs it." I didn't even remember his acoholism😭😭😭
Now 911 has been renewed for a 6th season , could we get a Speed 2 esque premiere on Bobby and Athena's cruise ?,Lots of things could go wrong !. Meanwhile the rest of the team are holding the fort back in LA. Would they have a temporary Captain untill he gets back ?, Guess we will find out in September .
I can’t wait for the cruise. Peter hinted at it in an interview. As he said “This is 9-1-1, what could go wrong?” lol. I’m hoping for some sweet romantic moments and some Speed 2 type excitement. Is it fall yet? lol
One of the best moments of the show. I was kind of hoping Eddie would’ve invited him over though it was weird, he said he couldn’t stay long because he had to pick up Chris but then he said he couldn’t stay over because Chris had friends over and he didn’t want to leave Carla alone, the contradicted themselves there.
Had Bobby not refused Eddie’s request to transfer back to 118 (in 5x11), Eddie’s PTSD could have haunted him and led to serious problems (professionally and/or personally), possibly endangering Eddie’s own life and Christopher’s life as well (imagine in 5x13 if Eddie didn’t take the bat towards the furniture but to …) With the initial transfer request refused, it kinda forced Eddie to seek for therapies and find peace with the traumas he had. That saves him, and thus saving Christopher from the worst situation of losing his dad/having his dad loses his mind.
I think it’s metaphorical. Eddie was having such a hard time in Texas with his relatives, who wanted to take Chris from him. But then Bobby convinced Eddie to join the 118, which ultimately lead to Eddie (and Chris) finding a new family, a family that truly loves and support them. It lead to Eddie and Chris meeting Buck who literally has been there for both of them when they needed it the most. That’s how I see it.
I think it also has something to do with Bobby turning down his request to transfer back. Eddie now know looking back that he was in a bad place and had he returned to firefighting too soon, he could have endangered himself and by extension Christopher. That was my first thought at least
Yeah so when Eddie tells Bobby you saved my life and my son's life what he's saying is that when you save me you save my son because I was heading down a path that I don't want my son to be heading down in order for me to be in control you had to teach me some things so I can understand something so Chris don't have to follow the footsteps of what my father taught me about hiding my feelings and hiding my emotions.

The fact that Bobby wanted Eddie to stay Bc he was too scared of what he’ll do alone.😭😭 this scene was everything

The relief we all felt when we watched him pour that down the drain. Oh my gosh.
That's what being a addict is about struggling and you question yourself it's a constant struggle with being a addict
Sometimes, even if you spend a minute and express what you feel, makes a huge difference in someone's life. Nice scene this was!
I think if Eddie had stayed any longer that Bobby would have broken down like he did with Hen and Buck. He looked like he was starting to get teary eyed. Eddie is right now the BEST character of 911.
I 100% agree
Totally agreed. Doing everything in his power to make it better for everyone, not self centered at all thinking about everyone else before himself, rising again no matter how many times the life let him down.. he is a gem
I agree too.

I fully just zoned in on that moment!! So so proud of him! He’s so strong even after all the trams he’s been though!
i was screaming at the screen hoping that he didnt I was si proud of him
I was chanting watching “dump the drink down the drain”
I wanted him to do it and then he did it and i started crying. Now every time i see it i start crying. 🥹😭🤧
It was awesome for his character. Not gonna lie though, it hurt to see that very high-quality whiskey go down the drain, lol (I know, it's really colored water or something).
Biggest smile on my face watching him pour that away :D
Eddie said “okay, that’s enough feelings bye”
Always that’s his go to 😂
when he poured it down the sink I applauded and cried
Eddie coming over right then when he was about to flush his sobriety down the drain must have felt like a sign from God to him.
Bobby and Eddie are very similar and compliment each other is so many ways. They are parallels of each other and I feel this scene represents this well
Eddie looking so good! Love Eddie and Bobby’s relationship
This is a great scene, but did anybody else notice that when Eddie came in he said he couldn't stay long because he has to pick up Christopher, and when he left he said he couldn't stay for dinner because Christopher has friends over and he can't leave Carla alone with them. May be Eddie just wanted an excuse to get out from there to avoid getting into an emotional situation with Bobby :-)
Nah I think if he didn’t want any emotion he never would have stopped by. He was just returning the favor.
He stopped by because he knew , he had a feeling that's why he asked May. So did May she also had a feeling something wasn't quite right with Bobby
Chalk that up to bad writing 😆, don't get me wrong I ❤the show, but there are a few poorly written parts here and there
As someone who’s been where Bobby is, I understood the panic in being alone and wanting Eddie to stick around. Thankfully, he recognized that his disease was running riot and fought back ❤️
I was like NO no no no no no then when he poured it down the sink I applauded him
One of my favorite scenes of all time
i think this was my favorite scene from the episode. Full circle moment 🙌
I was so afraid when Bobby took out the bottle of alcohol and felt so relieved when he poured it down in the sink. also, this clearly was filmed on the same day when Eddie yelled at Bobby to reuest to transfer back to the 118.
that emotional whiplash omgosh lol
this scene healed my soul 🥺
I’m so happy for Bobby!
Way to go Bobby
It takes a strong man to come to grips with he past and realize his future with Athena and the kids and have the strength to pour the bottle down the drain congratulations Bobby Gloria Fox
Bobby is too hard on himself!!! I hate that!!! We love you Bobby!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This hits me hard because I am a recovering addict
I hope you’re doing well.
@pearlycomplaints yes I am ty for asking me and my wife have 12 years clean and sober
no but when this scene happened, I thought it was going to go a completely different route. the camera focused earlier in the episode on a piece of glass with his blood on it. The cruise will most likely last 2 episodes if they’re keeping with the pattern
@@awkwardfreakinperson7936 two part premiere would be good .
I can’t wait for the cruise. Peter hinted at it in an interview. As he said “This is 9-1-1, what could go wrong?” lol. I’m hoping for some sweet romantic moments and some Speed 2 type excitement. Is it fall yet? lol
Chimney typically has the helm when Bobby is gone
This aged well
Seriously the best move bobby ever made in the kitchen
Is no one going to talk about the fact that Bobby could have just returned the alcohol to the store?
❤❤

I am still blanking over this because I can't remember when Bobby saved Christopher? Can anyone clear that up for me?
Had Bobby not refused Eddie’s request to transfer back to 118 (in 5x11), Eddie’s PTSD could have haunted him and led to serious problems (professionally and/or personally), possibly endangering Eddie’s own life and Christopher’s life as well (imagine in 5x13 if Eddie didn’t take the bat towards the furniture but to …)

The tsunami flood
Eddie to Bobby : "You saved my life, and my son's"
Buck :😶
What did he mean that Bobby saved Christopher’s life? Is it just that by saving Eddie, he therefore saved Christopher
I was wondering that too I’m not sure
If anyone figures it out, let me know too
I think it’s metaphorical.

When did Bobby save his sons life
