      @@MrKouaVang Well, *technically* Buck isn't trapped since you can't force legal guardianship on someone (especially in this situation where Chris is not a blood relative of Buck's), but it's like Buck said, "You knew I wouldn't [refuse]". Now that Eddie has trusted Buck with the responsibility of looking after the most precious thing in the world to Eddie, his son, in the event that Eddie himself couldn't, there's no way Buck would let Eddie down and say no.
      Actually I'm going to be honest, as much as I'm a Buddie fan and love the fact that Eddie places so much trust and faith in Buck, it rubbed me the wrong way that he did this without asking him first. Once you've had that responsibility placed on you, it's very hard to say no even if you're allowed to. I would've preferred it if Eddie had asked Buck and Buck had replied that it would be his honor to be Chris' godfather. Granted, then we couldn't have had the big "I've already changed my will" reveal scene in the Season 4 finale. But it could've been replaced by a scene of Eddie asking Buck... kind of like a proposal 😃

      @@giannimolluso5846 I mean they literally showed us why he is that insecure? His parents did a terrible job. They basically ignored him his entire life -unless he was injured, and that only worked when he was a kid bc they literally didn't give a shit about the engine incident, or the blood clots or the tsunami- because they somehow blame him for the death of a child he does not even remember. There is also the fact that somehow pretty much every important person he had in his life left him behind -purposefully or not-. So yeah I think he has every right to be insecure, being strong as steel or not.

      I wish Eddie or someone would tell Buck that the situation with Maddie is NOT HIS FAULT. He was put in an impossible position where he had to betray either her trust or Chimney's. When Chimney comes back he better apologize to Buck for punching him like that while all he was trying to do is do Maddie a favor cause he didn't want to break her promise but if he doesn't i'll be so mad at him. Punching Buck was out of line. Buck did not wanted to break his sisters trust.

    • @Slingblade87
      @Slingblade87 2 года назад +41

      THIS. I'm sick of shows excusing violence like it's nothing. When you're an adult, you should be able to talk things out without hitting someone no matter how angry or upset you are.
      Personally, I think Buck was in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation and it's hard to fault him for his choice. If the situation had been reversed - as in, Maddie STAYED and didn't tell Chimney about Jee-Yun's accident - then I would agree that Buck needed to tell Chimney, because Maddie could be putting the baby in danger and nothing would justify keeping that a secret. But Jee was no longer in any danger, Buck would only be telling Chim about something that had already happened.
      But, even if Buck was in the wrong about keeping Maddie's secret, that still didn't make it right for Chim to punch him.

    • @marktwayne9796
      @marktwayne9796 2 года назад +8

      It's like the people in this comment thread don't understand what emotions are. I suggest you get off your high horses, because unfortunately the rest of us are still human and negative emotions cloud judgment. Chimney was completely *distraught.* He had a *literal breakdown* in front of the doctor. He's not in his right mind. No one's excusing his behaviour, but it is absolutely understandable why he reacted that way.
      Do you need to be reminded that Buck distanced himself from Maddie when she finally came clean even though their parents never wanted her to say it. Or about the fact that Buck sued the department?
      So Buck has the right to make stupid decisions when he's angry but no one else? The bias is really shining through here.

    • @jj-uv4rf
      @jj-uv4rf 2 года назад +12

      @@marktwayne9796 actually the bias is the other way lol. maddie made chim promise to keep the secret of buck being a saviour sibling to their dead brother, just like maddie made buck promise her to not tell chim what happened with her. they both chose maddie over each other which is perfectly fine. but chim chose to lash out against buck with violence. buck did not.

    • @marktwayne9796
      @marktwayne9796 2 года назад +4

      @@jj-uv4rf Do you really think this helps your case in any way? All it does is give at least two more reasons why Chimney is morally correct (not for the hitting, but for the argument as a whole).
      1. The secrets are NO WAY comparable. Buck completely and utterly forgot about Daniel's very existence. He could have gone his whole life without hearing _anything_ about it again and it wouldn't have impacted him in any way. Besides, it wasn't Chimney's place to tell him anything. All he knew was what Maddie told him, and coming from someone outside their family might make Buck think he was crazy or lying. On the other hand, what happened with Maddie directly concerned Chimney, because it relates to his daughter and significant other. Chimney was wracked with guilt the whole time and kept pressing Maddie to speak to him, whereas Buck didn't seem to be bothered by keeping it a secret at all.
      2. When Maddie finally told him, despite the fact that it was their parents who made it clear she shouldn't have said anything, he ghosted _her._ Because he was hurt that someone so close to him had been keeping secrets all this time about something so serious. And then what does he do? He goes on to help the _same person who hid things from him,_ hide something from someone else she loves. Right, that makes sense.
      And why didn't Buck respond violently? Oh, maybe it's because he wasn't on the verge of a mental breakdown, maybe it's because, as I said before, the news about his dead brother who he completely forgot existed, wasn't that impactful. He was more upset about him being born to provide parts than he was about hearing that Daniel was a real person. Chimney was spiraling out of desperation and anger.
      People who aren't mentally well can make bad choices, as we saw with Maddie. In conclusion, I repeat, get over yourself.
