Yeah, huge difference in atmosphere! In road rages everyone is always so serious, like they're racing for the Yellow Jersey while in reality the average prime is a cake or some flowers.
Short track looks more fun and less dangerous than full on crits, seeing this makes me actually contemplate trying it out haha, great race and great video!
Great breakdown! Exciting to watch. That heat race making your way through the entire field was impressive. I imagine getting the hole shot in a race would be a game changer.
Thanks Jeff! Great edit, narration, video and good times! All cycling enthusiast should visit Bob Rodale‘s Lehigh Valley Velodrome in Trexlertown Pennsylvania for some great world-class fixed gear racing sometime in the lives. Be well, race smart and have fun! Gratefully, Dennis
Your bike-handling skills are exceptional...during the few fixie crit races I've done...my hands shook through every corner while I said to myself...."please don't crash...please don't wreck"
Putting homies on fixies inside of a K1 Speed is the absolute most Red Bull thing ever. Never heard of this event until now but damn this is some total mad genius.
Would be so cool if this were more widespread. Loving the idea of going around an indoor kart track, get a workout out of it, and not having to breathe exhaust gas.
Starting in a corner was a huge advantage for the inside riders, should have started on a straight to five the outside guys a chance or have a track style start with outside riders starting further up front
What stipulations are there regarding tyre widths? I imagine running something wide at a lower pressure would give a huge advantage because you never really get up to speed
new subs here! I really love your content and I learned a lot of strategies on your videos!! Godbless and more power to your channel dude!! From philippines
If I were doing this, I would turn an old steel 10 speed frame into a fixed single gear bike or a fixed two gear bike. This way other bikes that bump into me move more due to me having the heavier bike, which helps since I am so light of a rider. Oh By the Way prior to the first aluminum frame racing bikes in the 1980's and 1990's, on big Mountian stages of the bigger tours some riders took a fixed steel frame track bike from the company they rode for, as light as the frames were made at the time, then added the components needed like hand breaks, changing to a front road hub, and all the stuff to comply with the rules then set up with the single set of gears best suited for climbing gear ratio for the rider to be as light as possible.
When I was a bicycle messenger in Montréal from about ‘95 to ‘07, I had some friends who used to ride fixies on the job. I thought they were absolutely fucking nuts!🤣 Gimme a fixie on the weekend, or after work, not in downtown rush hour traffic, lol Regarding the video, this looks insane and I’ve love to try it!
Just curious, Did they steam clean the track before this event? My local indoor Go-kart track is like a ice skating rink there's so much oil and rubber on it.
That looks so wacky and fun! This should be more popular!
Love these comments
ok
no
What’s the sport called tho?
Yeah, huge difference in atmosphere! In road rages everyone is always so serious, like they're racing for the Yellow Jersey while in reality the average prime is a cake or some flowers.
This needs to become a widespread sport. There's go cart tracks all over the place
watch the berlin rad race. cool stuff too
@@jeidun Is to dangerous for making it a copetitive sport. Maybe without track pedals.
@@manuelgranja2 even more dangerous... There's no way you'll be able to slow down without straps or clip pedals
no
no, we do not need to encourage the hipsters.....

I love this. All strategy, from start to finish. A bicycle race where shorts with a belt is welcomed.
Its cool as hell that there's a scene in NorCal of fixie riders. Madd respect.
You are a true competitor. I rate your sportsmanship and your courage.

I was really waiting for this!

Yeah, IKR, I was thinking that's so unfair for the outside guy.
yep, agreed, that was purely unfair, but in the end its more about the fun i think : )
It’s the best at bike handling. It’s always interesting to see a roadie talk about fixed
This looks so fun! I hope this gets more popular on the east coast.
I've raced this course a few times, never on a bike though
This is real fun... MORE OF THIS please.
Devil takes the hindmost is one of my favourite track races, we actually ran a road race version of this on our local crit track and it was awesome
Terry Barentsen cameo during the rear camera crash replay
I was so stoked to see this I hit like even before the video started!
This is really exciting to watch
I imagine the choice of tire along with how much pressure you run in both front and rear on the indoor track would also be key.
The bicycle is one of the greatest inventions of all time.
yes sir,it was indeed.
That looks like SO MUCH fun!!!😜
Been waiting for this
That NorCal production value now.. Crispy af!
I love biking too! Great video man! Arun from Singapore. I am six years old and love your videos
Finally i cant wait to watch it
Yoooo!!! This is awesome!! This needs to be seen in other countries!
I'm glad that you did this. I love this style of crit.
First off- it's about time. 😁
Nice recap on the heats and congrats on the efforts.
was waiting for this video like lorever!
Dammmm that was so exciting, it felt as if I was racing in that camera view.
Great fun and footage
That surface looks slick 😬
Okay this was an exciting crit to watch. Short and sharp
6:48: LMFAO! That was Benny Hill ludicrous!
Over here in Europe, the guys from Rad Race organize the same kind of race by the end of March, can't wait to get to Berlin. Last Man Standing!
Awesome race man! Always wanted to try fixie racing, it looks so fun!
This makes me wanna buy a fixed gear now! Awesome racing 🏁
Man thought this was a video from the OG All Gas No Brakes, Andrew Callaghan
Great video! More of this please!
This style of bike racing NEEDS to be in Columbus, Ohio!!! (A velodrome would be nice as well)
This is awesome!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My world of racing, meets "official" racers. Fun to show how us fixed riders have just a totally different skill set.
This looks like so much fun!
Nice one! It looks like a great circuit to race on. I'm going to look out for that next year. Got myself a fixie just need to race it!
eliminator race are the best, i did like them back in my speedskating times
I love the giant Schumacher banner!
Love that introo
What stipulations are there regarding tyre widths? I imagine running something wide at a lower pressure would give a huge advantage because you never really get up to speed
Can't wait to see the uphill video!
It’s great to see you try something different, full credit
MAAAAAAAAN, THIS LOOKS GREAT
you killed those corners, good job
I love this type of content!! Us fixie guys and roadies should get along :)
Fantastic video ! I loved Fixies !!!
Loved this sport, finally got a good excuse to ride by bike recklessly with no complaints.
wow, starts with a great intro and keeps rolling, keep that editor in your pocket
the best use of road/track bikes !!! ) This should be worlwide sport! )
The moment we have been waiting for. Saw VC's perspective now its time for Jeff's
Way higher vibes on this event.
06:52 Terry Barentsen is in the House 😄
LOL redbull discovered stuff we were doing 15 years ago. how brilliant
Upped the editing game
Looks fun as hell!!
This is such an exciting sport!
awsome format. whish there would be something like this here in europe maby like berlin
I think State has some impressive bikes. Just now learning about the brand. Nice video. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
MORE FIXED CONTENT JEFF
DANG! If I were 40 years younger, I'd be doing that. I looks like an outrageously good time!
Jeff, would you go with MTB pedals/cleats next time? Clip-in is everything.
Nice riding! Looks like a blast.
new subs here! I really love your content and I learned a lot of strategies on your videos!! Godbless and more power to your channel dude!! From philippines

Looks INSANNNNE the flapping jerseys kill me tho😫
Love this!
Super well done video!!
Lol thought this was from Andrew Callaghan
The vegan cyclists and Terry B!!
All gas no brakes is channel 5 news now
6:51 Hey, isn't that Terry standing there by the sideline?
very cool race format
Great footage and race to work on technique!
It's coming ROME, another success for Italy 😂
My knees want to jettison out of my skin just watching this craziness
Is that Terry Barentsen at 6:51?
Anyone know the white helmet on the guy at 0:57? Been on the market for a new helmet for a while now…
may i know if you use a chest mount? the camera angle is pretty good
This makes me remember of the time when Shingo Shoji once challenged Takumi on a Duct-tape death match😆
that 2 turn area is probably your favorite because you overtook so many people at that area lmao
Great vid!
looks fun!

Good stuff Jeff! Thanks for the upload. No power meter data?
Wow. that was so very cool and fun.
its the boys from SJF!
I'm pretty sure you could do faster laps with brakes or at least a front brake. Were they not allowed at all like on a velodrome?
When I was a bicycle messenger in Montréal from about ‘95 to ‘07, I had some friends who used to ride fixies on the job. I thought they were absolutely fucking nuts!🤣 Gimme a fixie on the weekend, or after work, not in downtown rush hour traffic, lol
