That was incredible. Now the guys at EBR just have to give that thing a little more top end speed. What an awesome bike. And what a ballsy guy on top of it!!!
The EBR1190 has no electronic traction control or wheelie control and is down about 25hp (in 2012) to the Suzuki. In addition, in order to meet the minimum weight requirements of 370lbs (wet) the EBR had to ADD 14lbs of balast. That's how good the homologated design is in the first place. In addition, the guy who was getting his ass handed to him was none other than Blake Young...a kid in his prime on a 2nd place championship ride. He was so impressed he wanted to join EBR for 2013.
That EBR has certainly got its brakes sorted that is more than apparent. Was he lacking HP on the straights or was he geared for the turns, I am not sure but it made for some great racing. The lack of electronics makes it more impressive for the EBR, it seems a bike with much more potential in it and will be interesting how it goes this year, lets hope they can raise a budget to compete against the established teams and manufacturers.
2HELNBAK so you are implying that we Indians are dummy right... I know how much Erik Buel struggled to keep his company afloat but that doesn't mean you take away credit from Hero. BTW soon Hero will start manufacturing of EBR bikes in India.
What !?! No you made a simple comment that was inaccurate. You said OWENED. Who knows what is in store for EBR but I hope they flourish regardless who backs them....
Epic batlle ive watched this vid three times and it never gets old that ebr is a hell of a bike just wait till next year with electronics and more power its gonna be a beast
this was just awesome to watch :-D, I'm a buell owner and I love seeing EBK do well. hats off to all motorcycle company's but to see the little guy win once and a while makes me happy! :-D great post!
This is very interesting as we've just raced the EBR 1190RS at Macau. She's a handful on bumps and down on ultimate speed but we've plenty of footage to prove EBR does indeed own the corners! 2014 is going to be very interesting for EBR fans. And that now includes us :-)
At 7:45 in the video, the commentator says that in the offseason, EBR is planning on adding some electronic control/aid to the EBR bikes, as well as dialing in the power curve (probably by adjusting the EMS/ECU on the bike). Expect a lot more podium appearances for the EBR bikes!
EBR took motorcycle engineering in the right direction. It's a precision machine through and through. EBR - "OWN THE CORNERS" !!!!! That sounds like Scott Russel commentating .
By "single brake", I believe he's referring to the use of only one large front brake caliper to minimize weight. It does have two brakes (front & rear). And it's true that the 1190 has no traction control. No need with so little unsprung weight.
EBR needs to move over to BSB asap. BSB does not allow electronic rider aids and the windy tracks in Britain would suit the EBR way more then the fast open racetracks of the US.
There getting the Buells dialed in.its only a matter of time before they win a race.a hand full of guys building 100 bike production run are competing.with the largest motorcycle companies in the world there are only 2 of them racing in AMA pro Superbike.and this is what they can do.many liter bike fans will say this means nothing, but I'll bet people at Yamaha,Suzuki,Honda, and Ducati aren't thinking that.
Freakin' awesome battle, but one thing you got to take into account it that this is a battle for 2nd place, there's another GSXR-1000 six second further down the road, just saying. It takes rider, machine, team and a little luck to win. Also one gixxer acting squirrelly does mean they all are, jeez...
F' me, eslick put on a clinic. kit seems to ride a lil' loose, but I guess whether or not that's a problem, wholly depends on whether or not you like loose...!? LOL
Dude - you just displayed your ignorance for the world to see. Blake Young and that Suzuki won a bunch of races the year before and was the second place contender the whole year...he wasn't a backmarker. The fact that Eslick made it a race shows how good he and the EBR are...not that Blake and Suzuki suck.
hey... guy on the gsxr, please park the bike, remove all gear and never step foot near a bike again. how can you get just out manned on the track about 60 times in 10 minutes? the guy on the buell just drug his ass around like a red headed step child on the slower bike
The ebr good for that motorcycle rider but will never win championship. It's to slow. A 650 scooter can beat motorcycle in corner but u need more then scooter power to win .lower your price on bike wow.
Hey dickhead, Try and compete with billion dollar companies in racing with a 200 employee shop in the middle.of nowhere wisconsin. The fact bike performs as it does is amazing in itself.

Badass Race That Buell handled and stopped better then the GSXR1000 WITHOUT traction control and only a single brake.
Fuggin' brilliant: Eslick vs Young, GSX-R1000 vs EBR1190RS, Electronics vs none. Great!
Wow, what a race! Fantastic. That Suzuki really had some top end, but that Buell just had some fantastic torque.
That was incredible. Now the guys at EBR just have to give that thing a little more top end speed.
What an awesome bike. And what a ballsy guy on top of it!!!
EBR is simply Brilliant....
No electronics... woow that is a hell of a bike...
Danny Eslick as well as EBR1190RS has done a commencible job !!!
I remember that race. Freaking historical.

My god I've never seen any bike - ESPECIALLY bikes 1000cc's or more - turn like that. That's insane!
I have a 2017 1190rx.Its slow up top but its the best handling bike ive ever ridden
hell of a battle, go EBR!!
takes mega mega millions to be competitive on the straights but apparently a little wisconsin know how gets it done in the corners
Thank you so much for posting! I've got to get a DVR
Ebr is the manufacture to watch this season. And I'm a Suzuki guy
Hell yeah hats off to EBR !! 🇺🇸
2HELNBAK EBR is now owned by an Indian motorcycle manufacturer Hero Motocorp..!!
Nakul Dalakoti NO, they own 49.2 % of the company. They are a partner EB is no dummy.
2HELNBAK so you are implying that we Indians are dummy right... I know how much Erik Buel struggled to keep his company afloat but that doesn't mean you take away credit from Hero. BTW soon Hero will start manufacturing of EBR bikes in India.
But as of Jan 2016, LAP owns EBR
Such a good race Ebr 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So sad this brand went under already. Erik is determined but who knows if he will bounce back this time.
+nomellocreampig
He is back! Erik is like bumerang, amazing bumerang! Wish him the best.
arguably best race battle of AMA ASB 2012
this was just awesome to watch :-D, I'm a buell owner and I love seeing EBK do well. hats off to all motorcycle company's but to see the little guy win once and a while makes me happy! :-D great post!
This should be an AMA "Classics Battle" vid.
That was an edge of your seat battle. Keep it going EBR how ever you can.
This is very interesting as we've just raced the EBR 1190RS at Macau. She's a handful on bumps and down on ultimate speed but we've plenty of footage to prove EBR does indeed own the corners!

INCREDIBLE race!!!!! Eslick made a fool of that gixxer.
EBR - own the corners!

amazing! i am gonna watch it one more time.
That was a great race between 2 and 3 !!!!!
EBR took motorcycle engineering in the right direction. It's a precision machine through and through.
EBR - "OWN THE CORNERS" !!!!!
That sounds like Scott Russel commentating .

Epic win, Awesome EBR, Buell owner for life
That was almost to much, i threw up like 3 times watching this lol
Q: when was this actual race what date and where ?
A: homestead Miami, September 2012
Great post sir!
My home track!! Nice
when was this actual race what date and where ?
Homestead .. they said during the video
And to think that HD let Eric Buell go?
beautiful thank you for sharing
That was some serious riding! ERB 1190rs IS THE SHIZZY!!!!!
What was it the Buell banners/t-shirts used to say...
"We don't care how they do it in Japan?"
:-D
what an epic battle!
Epic race. He took him on that same corner like 6 time. U can clearly see the etter turning ability as the gsxr was way wider on most turns
This is what's called a "RACE"
The "RS" was (is) a race ready bike capable of keeping up with anything on this track.
Danny Eslick: Bringing sexy back to AMA SBK.
and that's with like 14lbs of dead weight added to the ebt just so the suzuki team would stfu.
What do you mean "so the Suzuki team would stfu" ????
:) A_M_A_Z_I_N_G!

Eslick never disappoints.
Anyone know what happened to Blake Young?
It's like you dropped off the face of the Earth.

thats whats up EBR!!!!!
That was Blake Young you fool. You need to never step foot near a computer again.
If only this was like MotoGP
Who else would hit Flo?
F' me, eslick put on a clinic. kit seems to ride a lil' loose, but I guess whether or not that's a problem, wholly depends on whether or not you like loose...!? LOL
Holy crap!
That EBR will only set you back $40,000...The price of a BMW car or some nice additions to your stock portfolio...but fuck it, why not take the Buell!
amazing!!!!!!!
Eslick was murdering the rear....
fu**ing awesome!!!
People wounder why I like motor sport :) - They never understand.
nice!
Buells rock.
Dude - you just displayed your ignorance for the world to see. Bad Ass for a Privateer
