Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls game. You may get lost at first with all the names and places. Maybe keep a notebook nearby and write down what things you don't understand. Or ask the viewers, and im sure we can answer all your questions. Also theres a ton of lore books in the game if your willing to delve a little deeper. Bethesda created a deep, deep fantasy lore for this series of games, and it's okay if you dont understand at first. I felt intimidated at first as i normally never play fantasy games. But the quirkiness gameplay, the game world, quests, and so on make the game an incredibly immersive and fun experience. Lastly, dont worry to much about what class you want to be. You can always mix it up and change your playstyle at any point. Excited to see where this series goes. Very jelous you get to play this for the first time and experience it with fresh eyes. No survival mode, its brutal. I just started in october and about 240 hours into my first play thru. I can't wait to watch you go thru it as well. This game has ruined my life, lol
pressing tilde key "~" while in game it'll open the admin command prompt and you can type "fov 90" is what i normally do but you can raise or lower it. sadly you have todo it over and over on vanilla Skyrim, having SKSE installed it'll keep it saved permanently

Sadly, but SKSE is pretty much an advanced system for Skyrim to run on allowing millions of files to be edited by mods, but in general it makes the game more stable, it’s also heavily required for most mods to work- which if you want to get into I suggest 2 things, 1 if you want to add your own mods I suggest using “mod organizer 2” and downloading 100% of your mods off of “nexus mods” make sure your modding Skyrim SE and not standard Skyrim, it can be a hassle but it’s so rewarding. Luckily in the last 2-3ish years a programming group made a launcher called “wabbajack” where people have spent sometimes hundreds of hours making mods play nicely together and created entire mod packs, so you don’t have todo any work and just download and play- it’s a much more enjoyable experience to people who don’t want to spend more time adding and testing mods/ searching for mods than actually playing the game, I’ve got about 1800 hours between Skyrim and Skyrim se on steam, and maybe 3000 hours just trying todo mods lmao, so wabbajack was a life changer! -sorry to type a novel but if you have any questions feel free to ask! I have nothing else todo with my years of mod knowledge hahah
Ah, bless your pack rat ways, a player after my own heart! You'll learn with time what stuff is worth taking. Unless you intend to use an item, look at the cost to weight ratio to decide if its worth it. You can increase your carry limit by increasing your stamina. Don't sweat the race choice at character creation, the abilities are a nice bonus but won't make or break your playthrough. As for survival mode, I'd recommend against it for a first playthrough. Think of it like a challenge run: something to test yourself against after you've gotten more experience with the game. I'm enjoying this so far, good luck out there!
If on PC you can edit the FOV in either the Skyrim INI files or edit on the fly by opening the console with the Tilde key ~ and typeing FOV and a number. IIRC default FOV is 75. I usually play with 90 or 100. But you might encounter some camera clipping if you go wider.
You my sir, completely changed the game for. You'll see in a few episodes that I refer to this comment and indeed change my FOV. First person is WAY better now. Hats off to you.
You've just learnt what we all did early on in Skyrim - Stealth Archer is an OP build. You've picked up a lot of Alchemy ingredients - go to Riverwood and make use of them. Survival Mode is a pain unless you're one of those hardcore gamers - not good for a first-timer. Enjoy the game, and remember it came out in 2011 - its not Minecraft or WoW, it's like watching Lord of the Rings and asking "is it Harry Potter?" I hope you enjoy the playthrough.
You say I just learned it... but what exactly is the Stealth Archer build? I regret trying to compare it to Minecraft and WoW now lol it's just all I had to begin with. I know better now. This game is its OWN beast. Thank you!
@Beanee You don't really have to limit yourself to a playstation, but sneaking around with perk points sunk into Archery and Sneak skill trees is just embarrassing easy. Take a bow, soup it up with Smithing and Enchantment, add a poisoned arrow, get sneaking, and you can knock a giant's head off before he every sees you.
I started playing Skyrim for the first time last year too and compared it to WoW because it was all I knew when picking classes lol. After playing for a bit, I would’ve picked a different class than I started with because I wasn’t sure what perks I’d want.
That's how I feel too! I just watched a video rating all of the Skyrim classes and the one I chose was last place because Imperials are apparently basic and boring. I should have just gone with the lizard people lol.

When U play I bob and weave, forget the shield and eqip a restoratiob spekk,,, yeah survial mode is for hardcore gamers, you get thisty and hybgre which makes you mire sluggish also more prone on gettin disease from drinking spoiiled water, and eating eaw mears... if you have choice betewen spork and salt, grab the salt for cooking and potions. by property before yu buy house. keep enchanted items weapons, to disenchant them to learn , eating items will give you a hint as to what the ingredient will allow you to creat, or go to arcane centre and start mixin stuff together to make potions.. You can weold 2 1 handed weapons, but no blocking I thought when you were creating charater you said you didny wanbt to fight from a far,,, then why did you stay so far wat from dem spiders... lol archery is nice when you get more perk point.... and your sneek is high to icrease the dfammage... think of yourselfas a sniper......U love watching 1st time reactors to this hame, you got yourlf a new sbscriber. when / how often are you planning on plating Sjyrim... take care...eh Almost for got you can paly wither 1st person view or 3rd person view, I lik e 3rd prson when travelling or taking screen shgots but for combar I find 1st person to be easier.

Managing to know nothing at all about Skyrim is pretty impressive. Considering the game has been resold 5 times and the internet is full of Skyrim memes. Racial choices in Skyrim are nearly pointless. Most players will only ever choose one of 3: Altmer (high elf) for the fastest movement speed. Nord for frost resistance. Or Dunmer (dark elf) for fire resistance. That said, playing an Altmer is morally wrong and factually incorrect.
Well, I'm glad I didn't go with Altmer and get flamed by everyone lol. I don't know how I inevitably managed to avoid all things Skyrim but I did somehow. Literally, the only thing I knew about the game was the opening scene where you're in the back of the wagon.
