LR3 Upper Tailgate Repair Land Rover

My experience on repairing the Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4 upper tailgate latch failure, when your upper tailgate won't open. Just hold open and close and it opens after 5 seconds. My one i need someone at the back door to open it after i hold the 2 bottons in the car open and close

Thanks so much for making this video. Just did mine, this was helpful. One huge tip: DO NOT put the plastic cover on with the new actuator. Mine had the cover on it, I wound up having to break the cover off to be able to get at the cable, also broke part of the actuator frame.

Tie up a string on the cable for the next time it breaks and leave about 2 inches hanging out of the carpet

Just done mine bent a 6mm rod at end to give 12mm l shape on end feed through round hole and pushed actuator and lock opened

Just hold open and close. together mate and it opens .I need some one holding the back botton on the door and it opens after about 5 seconds
