So I think with the Pilaf gang, when they wished for youth the dragon wiped away their emotional maturity. (Granted only Mai had much emotional maturity to begin with). So for the PIlaf gang they have the memories of the events of OG Dragonball but it’s like they read them in a book.
If you want an easy way out with why Trunks does not know much about computers, its simple, he is a user not a programmer, so he could know how to turn it on and run it, but not how to debug and code.
You know I kind of get it. Making Goten the most Socially adept out of his family is pretty good. Goku is rather clueless for the most part, Gohan is modest maybe even modest to a fault at times with his interactions, Goten having an active social life and being street wise is pretty defining while having some of Goku's intuition with things but applying it in more social situations.
You can tell that was always his character seeing how he go out on dates unlike his dad or bro who were either trick or force to date women against there will.
Applying his dad's inherent innocuousness and likability with Gohan's humble booksmarts but to common sense, the most streetwise is cool. Making him a hit with the ladies be a strength and a flaw, sort of like his dad & brother were in their own ways whilst having the mischeif and creativity dormant he had as a kid makes sense. People say Goten was a bit boring, but he's literally a carefree, incredibly happy litte kid which made him endearing if a little bland. Gohan went through more strife, not being able to have a childhood but there's theories the eldest sibling tends to be the sternest and most responsible because they see more of their young parents trials and tribulations of early adulthood; as by the time the second comes along the parents are of course more experienced and often more stable as well as having to set an example for the younger ones. Present Trunks' personality - he doesn't have the relationship Future Trunks had with Gohan which likely shaped him, but he does have it with Goten. Future Trunks to me, people think he's cool due to him being a stern rebel - it's a contradiction but he is also a youth still full of hope and an open, good hearted person underneath. Present Trunks was sort of defined by his good nature, but also his mischeif and snark - he's the son of Bulma and Vegeta for goodness sake. Whilst Vegeta has changed drastically as a character & Bulma matured too, I think making Trunks' defining trait having him be a necktied, mathematics CEO just doesn't really fit well for what we know about him. ... Wow. Why am I analysing or creating wishful thinking headcanon over a children's cartoon/comic with more effort and also reading into it's characters and universe more deeply than it's original creator's footnotes ever bothered to do, in an obscure reply thread on youtube? I tell myself it will help me with my own writing in the near future. Probably.

I feel like Goten’s new personality is an evolution of the analytical minds that the Son family has. Goku possesses an analytical mind for battle, Gohan for books, and now Goten for social situations. I’m excited to see more of the teens, especially with how they interact with each other now.
The only reason goten is socially aware is that unlike goku and gohan he does have a life in the city unlike the other 2 who either constantly fought or lived in the mountains
@@sul_9999 but Goten grew up in the mountains too. And Gohan went to school in the city as well and had a life there. I think Goten is just more well-adjusted and does better with people than either his father or brother do.
@@catswithlasers I mean he hangs out with Trunks a lot and probably flies a lot around the cities with Trunks or by himself, and hey we need someone else from the Son family that isnt a socially awkward dork, Chi-chi is not socially awkward but she’s socially loud and doesnt care about her surroundings
You can see them testing out personality a bit towards the end of the Super anime, too. I think they had the idea that while Gohan is the intellectual of the family, Goten would be more the wise one of the group have him be more competently reactive to the craziness of his family and friends. I like it, it's a fun little character niche, and I think it works especially well with Trunks' wilder personality.
I feel like Goten's personality in the latest manga chapter is an evolution of how he's portrayed in Super. He played the straight man to his own father, helping him with navigating social cues and how money works. Now he's the man behind the man for his best friend. Goten's become more of himself. It's subtle but I really like it.

It’s great that you also noticed how Goten is much more socially adept compared to his own father and maybe even Gohan. Goten went out his way to teach his own father about manners and to get a gift. It’s cool. He is good at improvising judging from the latest chapter with his quick thinking. You know what would be cool that could maybe separate himself from all the other fighters? Assuming that Goten will have some shine ofcourse. It would be cool if Goten is the one who uses Goku’s old power pole when it comes to fights. He already has the Nimbus now maybe giving him the power pole can be his way of fighting differently compared to everyone else and at the same time a homage to his dad. All while being a super saiyan. That would be cool.
I how Teen Goten and Teen Trunks have been portrayed in the latest chapter. Goten has really grown up and become more confident and having a sense of independent agency while being rational. I like how much Present Trunks personality is different from Future Trunks. I like how respectful and self aware Present Trunks has become.
yup plus having vegeta in his life really impacted him.. like he’s way more self assured and confident in himself then Future trunks was at his age not to mention he transformed far FAR earlier as a result of that confidence. future trunks self belief was not high he doubted and second guessed himself a lot more then trunks in super does..
Hot Take: Goten was the best character in GT. Him becoming a Ladies man is a unique approach, because it provided a reason for him to not be around as much. He's a young man with a completely normal attraction to women, so he spends time respectfully dating them. He was going to go with the others but pan stole his spot. At that point, it was out of his control, so he just went back to his daily life. Goten in Super just isn't around because the writers couldn't find a good way to utilize him.
Same I very much liked GT Goten and mainly for the fact he isn't a carbon copy of Goku anymore and isn't like Gohan. With Kid Goten being a lot more social than Gohan and hitting puberty it actually makes a lot of sense that he's a polite ladies man (after all I'm sure Chi-Chi made sure Goten was treating them nicely)
Ikr , other than adding that unique thing which isn't far fetched , his personality was like in z , he's naive and was about to jump on Omega when Goku and Vegeta were getting beaten , but Gohan being the level headed one stopped him and said it'd be just getting in their way . I see no problem with the character other than just not being enough included in the journey.
I always thought that GT Trunks feeling constrained with being Capsule Corp's CEO is sensible. Present Trunks was more of a leader, but it was more of a desire for independence than anything else. Being flooded with the responsibilities of adulthood and paperwork and stuff is pretty suffocating for this kind of guy.
Trunks never showed that kind of interest or sense of responsibility as a kid so it makes more sense than seeing him suddenly become a fully responsible adult .
@@humanman9920 yes he didn’t like responsibility as a kid and then in GT it further pushes that narrative more so he kept getting put in the responsible position because of people around him, it’s beautifully explained throughout the show. Maybe you should rewatch GT instead of saying things you don’t know 🤷♂️

Honestly, I like the idea of Trunks being impatient when it comes to learning technology. He may have Bulma's smarts and more human/calmer demeanor but he still has Vegeta's influence and blood. So for him, things like waiting for a computer to boot up or process things feel like a waste of time because he's used to the much faster pace of training and analog tools. Things that only go as fast as you do. (Plus prob has the impulsive anger of both parents, so if the computer froze, it would cause more headaches.)
I personally like that trunks doesnt know much abt computers n such, gives bulla something to be unique for the hopefully spin off manga that focuses on trunks, goten, uub, marron, pan and bulla
@@Mr.PR2000 unique is the wrong word, more like different than trunks, and its certanly better than GT's version. Also bulma outside of the first few episodes of og and the time machine doesnt do much so bulla can be like an intel for the team, similar to the guy in granolahs eye patch thing
Gotens personality growth really builds on his upbringing from Z. Chi Chi use to hound Gohan about his education all the time which has led to him be obsessed with it in his adult life. When Gohan goes to train with Goten in the Buu saga he finds out Chi Chi has already taught him basic combat practices. When compared to Gohan it seems like Goten just got to be a kid for the most part and grow up without a ton of pressure aimed at certain facet of his life.
Wait a minute, GT Goten was awesome (from my memory). He wasn't a lusty sleezebag, he was a good guy who fought when he needed to but just happened to get along with the ladies well and had a sense of style while doing it. I'd actually like to see Goten play into his dating side as things go on. (Also I preferred his GT haircut personally.) We loved Future Trunks because he was a good kid and heroic, but took things seriously and got things done. If they can keep that in mind, I'll be happy as well 👍
Hold on a minute. Gotenks deserves more credit than that. He may have lost to Super Buu, but he still kept him on his toes. I really don't get why everyone, even the writers, hate Gotenks so much. Because even Akira Toriyama treated Gotenks with more respect than he's getting now. Gotenks deserves his time in the spotlight again. It's only a matter of how to write it. Even fan Manga have treated Gotenks with more respect than Gotenks has been getting.
I think a better reason why Trunks can't use computers is because his mother is Bulma. If he ever had any issues or difficulties she would of likely sorted it out for him since she's a genius, but in doing so prevented him learning on his own as he can get her to do it for him.
My headcanon as to why Trunks is scared of ghost is that well, he always was. But when he fused with Goten (who is shown to not really be afraid of those things) it made them come up with the idea that using ghost for an attack would terrify their oppoennts, because Trunks finds them so scary
Really hope goten and trunks come into their own while keeping some of their core traits. Toyataro in a recent interview apparently said he was really gonna push the Mai and trunks relationship so anybody who's really against it are just gonna have to deal with it unfortunately.
Wtf? I swear everytime Super does one thing right it takes a massive step backward. Anime/manga fans are so complacent in disgusting storytelling. "Yeah just deal with this story between a Highschooler and an old woman" is a terrible attitude.
@@windghost2 Mentally she's still old we literally see her act like she used to in her adult form plus she's helping bulma and pilaf engineer and fix machinery she isn't mentally a teenager. Also her body being that of a teenager doesn't really change anything either.

I really hope we can see a redemption of Gotenks. He's my favorite fusion and they teased older Gotenks at the end of super hero. If only they showed us what he looks like

I enjoy how Goten is resourceful and quick on his feet. He’s also a lot more street smart, and if this goes well i think he would be the best written out of Goku and Gohan. The way he supports Trunks and is his reliable friend is amazing, the loyalty is unmatched. He’s a good enough friend to criticise and point out Trunks flaws, which is an amazing characteristic I really do hope that the “Never been good with computers” characteristic is retconned or changed to something on the lines that Masako said. I cannot sit with that fact at all.
Gotenks deserved a chance of redemption to be badass and useful again when written correctly by the right guy. Looking at you MasakoX who redeemed Raditz who was discarded by Toriyama.

@@MasakoX You tend to make a gag characters be an actual characters. In Your stories Yamcha became a valuable person a few times. Why not rewrite Gotenks for once? Just take Goten as a dominant part of the persona and boom - You have it :)
They are side characters. This isn't DC or Marvel. There is one canon, and there is no manga for every side character to be an mc in. There is just one manga and one story. You can't cover everything.
I see the pilaf gang as a reset of their former selves. They’ve been turned into babies grew up to teens as of the point we are in the super series currently. Even though they have kept their previous memories I still accept them as the age they currently are so the Mai X Trunks thing doesn’t bother me. It’s like how Kite from hunter x hunter got reincarnated into a girl chimera ant but retained the memories it had previously. Besides this is fiction it’s not like other novels or stories haven’t done way worse. I am glad to see trunks and goten finally get some much needed development. Chapter 88 was enjoyable.
I feel Goten's personality was kind of a holdover from Super with the scene where Mr. Satan gives Goku a ton of money that Goku is reluctant to accept and Goten has to spell it out for his father that if he gives it to Chi-chi, she'll let Goku train.
Not to mention Goten also was teaching Goku about proper manners and providing a gift. I think Goten has the better social personality of all the Son family including his mom.
Feels like Trunks having no idea how to use a computer despite working for an IT company and needing Goten to help is a reflection of Toriyama and Toyotaro's relationship.
I’m glad having Trunks and Goten grow up and getting more development, but I don’t see Gotenks going anywhere. If anything, this could mean he’ll be a bit more serious and useful.
@@justinarzola4584 Definitely. Also considering almost everyone is developing and getting their own forms now, that actually might happen. They might do the Ssj Rage thing for Trunks, with this time adapting Ssj Rage to the manga and also giving a proper explanation for how Trunks achieves Ssj Rage, what it is, and also giving it a different name. For Goten, my theory is that the form he will develop will be based on his Ox King heritage and Goku going through Spirit Control training before Goten was conceived combined with Goten’s insane potential and massive amount of S Cells. And then it would be awesome if Goten and Trunks later obtain God Ki and developed their own unique Super Saiyan God forms that’s a mix of the regular Super Saiyan God forms mixed with Goten’s and Trunks’s own individual potential and hidden power.
From what we seen he might be even stupider then his last appearance because of one example and that example is vegito He was a disrespectful monster that was kind of cocky but in super he just turned even cockier then in z and another example is gogeta if we count z gogeta as canon then we can talk about how z gogeta wasnt cocky at all and he was just ready to finish the fight but in super he was just a vegito ripoff
I love myself some Gotenks. Specifically when in the buu saga of course but I enjoyed him and hoped that as they came of age the fusion would mature aswell. That it'd become more of the badass fusion that gets stuff done. It's a shame how badly they got treated in super because I think he could've been a good character and a great pick for the TOP. While I wish we'd get a chance to redeem Gotenks if they can save Trunks and Gotens characters that's enough for me.
Well, if it makes you any happier, in my rewrite of super I keep in my head, he got to badass fighting Kefla instead of Goku. (He was also grown up in my version as well.)
So maybe Trunks had become more reserved because he has seen his dad's arrogance cause more trouble than its solved and has seen his father become more reserved and is trying to become more like his father now than the brash antihero he used to be. For Goten he's had 2 male figures to look upto in his life and has probably found a good balance between the two, also ChiChi was less overbearing with him which is why I think Gohan became the way he was to make his mum proud.
With Gohan I kinda felt he did it because it felt weird to know he had super abilities but would have to stand by and let crimes happen since he had to pretend to be a regular person. The whole Saiyaman deal was made because just turning Super Saiyan wasn't enough of a disguise. Gohan hates fighting, but he wouldn't be the type to just stand by and let people beat up on some defenseless person if he can stand in and do something about it. It's just he doesn't actively seek out fights like his father does.
@@marksunboxingzone They didn't depict it as such. He doesn't let the police deal with it. It comes off as actively seeking it. Like, he goes on patrols for crying out loud. You know what patrols is code for? Actively seeking out fights. I get where you are coming from, how he _"learned a lesson from the cell games that he needs to take an active role in helping people"._ . . but even then, it still feels weird. He doesn't come off as the type of guy who would make a big show out of it. For gohan, it feels like he would be more. . . "pragmatic" about it. Where he would just go in at speeds the eye can't keep up with, take down the bad guy, and then bounce without ever saying a word or being seen. I get the disguise. But I still think he'd be a silent hero if he just wants to keep things secret. That's why it feels weird. Cause it just comes off as him having fun with something that he doesn't like doing.
Honestly, it seems like the kids were super sheltered in Buu and into early Super. They didnt have to grow up fighting like their family, and Trunks didnt even know about his past self when he showed up in the present again. I think realizing how deadly their past has been and learning more about the Z Warriors' past has begun to mature them.
Not gonna lie, when you talk about Goten development it makes me feels proud about the young boy finally having his own role to become a unique young man. Looking forward to new chapters and new developments.
I personally LOVE GT Goten, his dad wasnt around til he was 8, it makes sense for him to kinda become a bit angsty and popular with the ladies since he can you know, talk to women unlike Goku and kinda Gohan tbh, like he did not know how to "woo" Viddal in the Buu saga. Goten never seemed like he was the next generation so seeing him being flirty and dealing with normal teen stuff was one of my highlights from GT. He isnt bogged down in this Saiyan bloodline and hasnt been fighting his whole life/the world like Goku or Gohan so ofc he's not gonna be as serious until at the end of Z and you see Goku training him and maybe kinda tryna snap him back to the fact he's got protentional to be strong as fudge and I aint talking Majin Bu. Just look at Future Trunks, mfer somehow defeated an invincible god type being, within time im sure Goten would also grow into that somewhat (without the whole future trunks timeline giving Trunks a lot of trauma etc)
In reference to Trunks not wanting to be/wanting to be a leader. Wanting to and liking to help guide and lead your close friends around and wanting to and liking to lead around an entire company, with hundreds, if not thousands of employee's, are two very, very different things.
I honestly think it was a good idea to let Goten and Trunks to forget the fusion dance it allows us to explore their personalities, techniques and power as individuals. It makes it more interesting since it makes it less like they are just 2 parts of Gotenks and more like Gotenks is a small part of themselves. It's also gonna be interesting when we see him again like new techniques and new personalities and power he could have.
Oh, I hadn't thought of that. One avenue they could take for Goten's development as a character is "what if Goku had grown up in a city rather than as a hillbilly". He's very similar to Goku but with less of a drive to improve. But the change in context from country bumpkin to "actually a member of society" could be enough to make him different from Goku despite sharing the same basic personality. Goten definitely needs some drive though. He's basically dragged around by Trunks all the time, I don't recall Goten ever once doing something on his own initiative.
I don't think GT Goten was really a womanizer myself, after all he only seemed to be trying to court Valese and what we did see of the two of them on screen, he did his best to be polite and attentive to her needs. Now I don't know if that was fully the case in the Japanese version because I've only watched GT dubbed, but from what I have seen GT Goten is probably just popular with the girls but he's focusing on Valese because she's the one he wants to try and go steady with. Probably would have been more fleshed out if Goten actually got to do more in GT.
Goten and Trunks switching personalities happened with my childhood friend, so that checks out to me. As does the unusual "leader" position with the older of us that faded as we aged.
mind yall, GT trunks and Goten were a bit older then the current goten and trunks in school. I know this because pan is in kindergarten in this arc, but in GT she was alot older
I had my doubts about the new chapter but now seeing this video you're making me see it in a new light. I guess I misjudged it too early and did not give it some time.
Goten is like Goku if he was raised in a semi normal life (aside from the occasional alien) like if he went to school and was able to experience normal social situations.
I'm liking the direction they're going with Goten and Trunks! Yeah, the "Trunks not being savy with computers and being afraid of ghosts" bit could have been handled a bit better, but that's neither here nor there, I just hope they continue this trend post end of Z. Heck, maybe we can have situations where they would throw Pan and Bulla into the mix and have these funny moments where they could be "the annoying kid sisters", or in Goten's place, niece, or just family bonding moments! I mean, we barely got any interactions between Goten and Pan, and interactions between Trunks and his little sister were virtually nonexistent in GT, that part always annoyed me, among many other things, with GT!
@@INFERNO95 Goku was the usual carefree guy in those initial episodes and Trunks was more concerned about Pan than him in multiple scenes , he's the one who apologised for his dismissive attitude and reassured her when she was discouraged because of causing more trouble than being useful , he was more kind to and made a good friend of Giru before anyone else who ended up saving the three of them . Other than some characters who only got added natural traits Trunks got actual on screen development .
I’m excited about these two’s development. Goten may become my favorite Son Family member if this keeps going. And Future Trunks is my favorite character and this is bringing present Trunks closer to that, so I’m excited
Considering how much more developed Goten is now and considering that he’s now the most balanced member in the Son Family, it’s going to be great seeing Goten balance training and fighting with his social life and it’s going to be great seeing how Goten and Trunks progress and develop more in the next chapters of this arc and as the series progresses. Also considering everyone is starting to get their own unique forms, I think Goten and Trunks will eventually get their own unique forms individually as well based on their own individual potential and hidden power. Plus it would be great to see the hidden power Goten possesses, I think it would be awesome if Goten’s Ox King Heritage combined with his insane potential and massive amount of S-Cells and Goku going through Spirit Control training before Goten was conceived adds something really unique and powerful to Goten’s hidden power. And something I definitely want to happen is Goten and Pan developing a very close bond with each other. It would be great to see Goten and Pan become a lot closer and training with each other.
In terms of Mai, I feel like we're overlooking one thing. When the trio have accidentally wished for their youth, and thus turned into children, we have to also take into consideration that they were probably also turned into children mentally as well. Especially when they wished for money, and more importantly, ice cream later on. Just because they have the memories of living up to now doesn't mean that they might understand most of it.
Yeah, the only thing really aging them now is just their past memories. I liked the one part in the manga where Mai said Future Trunks was 'quite the looker' and Bulma pointed out that sounded like something an old woman would say, LOL.
They weren’t turned into children mentally, they never mentally matured, you can tell that they are the same from their first appearance in og DB to now
Glad to know I’m not the only one to find Present Trunks x Present Mai weird… The Future versions I’m fine with because F. Trunks didn’t meet her until he was an adult already. Also I’m happy to see more people excited for Goten to have more growth ^^
I liked GT goten, regardless of that I am happy they can grow up, a cool thing of dragon ball going for so long is to see the characters grow after all
It's great that they are gonna give growth to Goten and Trunks, but I have fondness for the GT versions, in that universe there was a big time of peace, so it made sense that those characters followed different paths.
One thing I did like about Super, however brief it was for them, was that Goten and Trunks had chances to at least witness more adventures than before. In Z all they really did was enter the tournament and then all the Buu saga. With Super they at the very least got to witness Beerus, Freeza's return, know a bit of the Goku Black situation, Trunks got to meet his future self, protect 17's island, and so forth.
I don’t have a problem with Trunks hooking up with Mai. I really enjoyed seeing their future versions getting together, so it will cool to see them at high school
I feel like you're giving his characterization in Super Hero a bit too much credit, he still feels much the same as he did in Z with just being trunks friend. I really hope they stop relying on Gotenks as much as let them become stronger individually.
I had an Strange Idea: What If Goku and Gohan Switched places Gohan would be Kakarot, son of Bardock, sent tô Earth, but he would have his Gohan personality, don't liking fights so much and bring more peaceful, and Goku being his son, an Hybrid saiyan who loves fights. It would be super interesing since Gohan would be way weaker than Goku in the sagas, Sharing the protagonism with other Z-Fighters until Goku appears.
Even though this could easily be a stretch especially if there was any on the spot input from Toriyama, goten and trunks newer characterizations actually make sense Trunks has learned that’s he’s not hot sh*t like he thought he was as a kid, and with vegeta being a very disciplinary father and bulma a very short fused mother, trunks likely wasn’t getting away with being the little scamp he used to be, he’s become more subdued while still carrying that sense of pride and partial entitlement from his parents, unlike future trunks who is polite and tactical Goten on the other hand makes even more sense, he sees the world and others just for who they are without any real deep thought like gohan probably would since he takes a little bit more after goku, that and chichi was a little easier on goten than gohan anyway, but her influence is still there too since he tries to keep a cool organized head about things goku would be puzzled or too blunt to get, this actually was shown in super when goten helped goku order those treats for beerus and whis before the tournament of power Is this all a stretch and toriyama/toyotaru just thought it fit by sheer luck? Easily could be but idk I really am kinda impressed how it makes sense these kids would grow up to be these young men
Gotenks I don’t really hate the character. I just didn’t like that he was mostly just a cocky person. Maybe if it’s possible now that goten trunks are older maybe his personality has changed. Again, I don’t want to dismiss this character because of bad decision making’s, because I feel like the character can be redeemed, if given the chance.
I think if we analyze anime genetics, this suggests that something in the Chichi/Goku pairing is definitely leaning towards producing smart people. We know Goku is smarter then he lets on, but the point I'm trying to highlight is Chichi may have a lot more depth to her then she ever gets to display on camera. Somehow I feel that she wasn't quite as lax raising Goten as the Buu saga made it really seem... at least when it came to schoolwork, given how he's turning out now. A first occurance of something is a coincidence, a second starts a pattern, after all. I kind of dig it. It suggests that there's a lot of potential for intelligence in the Son family (which was told rather then shown with Bardock being a "brilliant scientist"), that when properly nurtured can be applied to incredible effect. Backed up by Chichi not exactly being a slouch herself, and a main shaping force in turning that potential into something (unlike Goku, who never had the opportunity to do so and likely wouldn't have an idea on how in the first place). Makes them all look a bit better.
Trunks & Goten vs. Janemba & Hachiyakk. Great chance to for a story relative to difference between what Gotenks made and whatever beings the latter are and why Trunks would not be okay with them
While I understand your feelings towards GT Goten, I admit that I did enjoy Valese as his girlfriend. Mostly, I’m just glad that a Saiyan male of any percentage ended up with a girl who wasn’t all that feisty like Chichi, Bulma and early Videl were.
I'm so glad gotten and trunks are finally getting more focus and getting older and gohan and piccolo finally got some focus and make the power gap between them and goku and vegeta alot smaller
Honestly after the pacing of the granolah arc nothing would be more good than a calm arc that dosen't have any fighting and has character development to the most two characters that need it. It looks like the series is taking a good turn in my opinion, yes i know some people will want just classic good ol fighting, transformations, etc, but honestly its about time the series takes a break from these kind of arcs and actually focus on its characters for once.
I understand people want to see Trunks and Goten grow as individuals, I totally agree, but it would just be nice to see a little bit of Gotenks whooping ass.
I..... liked GT Goten. He felt like he was completely different from Gohan and Goku, and actually felt like his own character, without being "the next Goku" like Gohan was pushed to be, which, which helped Goten feel more like his own person. Honestly, I really liked the swagger, the cockiness of being Goku's son, and yeah, he was a little bit of a player - but it all felt deserved, you know what I mean?
I think it make sense for trunks to scared of ghost, in the new chapters he thinks that android created by Dr.Hedo is wearing mask, and trunks not actually scared, its the same like ghost kamikaze, he make it like a ghost, cause he scared of so he taught it could scared buu, the reason why gotenks are chill with the ghost cause well he created them...
Honestly, Goten in GT isn't far off from his end of Z counterpart as he too was trying to go out on dates and whatnot. Also, GT Goten really isn't that bad. He's underutilized and underdeveloped, sure. But then again, so is just about everyone else in the show other than Goku & Vegeta. I'm glad they're giving Goten some more direction, but I don't like how it's at the expense of Trunks. They ruined Future Trunks in Super, and now they're ruining present day Trunks. I get that both Future Trunks and present day Trunks can't act the same because one is basically a war veteran with PTSD and the other is a spoiled brat, but they could at least share the same ideals and attitude when things get serious. Lastly, they need to get rid of the whole Trunks x Mai thing. It's 100% not needed and not to mention it's also wrong. Mai is a grandma in comparison to Trunks. What they should do is have him strike out with Mai, and have him score (STOP IT) with Fayra, the new girl in their school. As for Goten, have him eventually start dating Marron to give her relevancy and family connection. Of course we'd have to wait a little bit of time since there's a slight age gap between the two. Not much, only a 4 years difference, which is perfectly normal. At the end of Z, Marron is 13 and Goten is 17. A little weird, given that very specific age range, but not nearly as weird as a 60-something year old with an 18 year old if you ask me. I know someone is going to state American age of consent laws on this, but you have to remember, this is not bound by American laws since this is a Japanese property with THEIR rules, which just so happen to be 13 is the age of consent there. Oh, and of course they're not real. They're FICTIONAL. Just drawings. So, calm down.
There's a part of me that feels that Gotenks is being "saved" for a time when it would truly show off the growth of Goten and Trunks. After all, if his two contributors are allowed to mature and grow up, what's stopping Gotenks from doing similar? Shoot, there's a part of me that thinks that the very reason the fusion was written to fail in Super Hero was because they wanted one more good "gag" without using the actual Gotenks again. That way, when the ACTUAL Gotenks appears, it'll be something far more meaningful and leaving the joke character aspects in the past. That said, I'm all for this current arc giving Goten and Trunks their shine, now. The two have both needed and certainly deserved this time.
Fusion should've been used by the Earthlings to help them stand on the level of the many Super forms. Tiencha canonized would be amazing! Krillin + Chiaotzu? CHILLIN!
Something I'd like to see, if the boys and Pan do take up the mantle of MCs is for their generation to go Super Saiyan 4 down the line. Give them their own unique thing : D
@@hordakprime6172 Broly kinda adapted ss4, but i wouldn't mind him getting a unique transformation more visually reminiscent of ss4, to complement UI, UE, Beast and Orange. The villains of GT are bad , really bad in their executions, but the concept behind them (except Super 17, nothing to salvage there) are interresting and could be adapted in the futur.
Just like apart from the concept of UI and Goku black the majority of super could be forgotten and not be missed at all . I mean power rangers is always a better alternative

@@Darkflo23 in his defense, yes as those 2 were the main reason most could stay watching the Super anime (note I said anime, not manga). After all, it’s those 2 concepts that most discuss about out of all what u listed. Before those two , the show didn’t garner any much attention as it wasn’t interesting, after all, having the 1st 2 arcs be the movies with no new info added, wasn’t interesting. The multiverse concept could have been handled so much better instead of being compressed into one arc, ruining what could have been one of the best world building in shonen . The humans, while some ppl did like them, has its share fair of issues power scaling as (seeing this is the DB community we are referring to and it can’t do without power scaling) Hell if anything, Super’s success as an anime is garnered not only to those 2 alone but also nostalgia. So going back to his point, it’s kind of understandable. GT has things it’s remembered for, same as super, if u remove they key points that made the shows worth watching, then there is nothing interesting to watch as the rest has been mishandled

Toyataro officially confirmed that a romance between Trunks and Mai in the next Chapter 89. He said that Mai will be going to the Blue Hal High School with Trunks and she will be his classmate. He promised more romantic moments. Goten has 2 new friends - the black boy named Chok and the white girl named Fayra. In GT, Goten didn't have any friends expect for his girlfriend Valese.
I look at Trunks unwillingness to work with computers as a sign of his intelligence that the computer isn't able to keep up with him, thus he gets frustrated.

So I think with the Pilaf gang, when they wished for youth the dragon wiped away their emotional maturity. (Granted only Mai had much emotional maturity to begin with). So for the PIlaf gang they have the memories of the events of OG Dragonball but it’s like they read them in a book.

If you want an easy way out with why Trunks does not know much about computers, its simple, he is a user not a programmer, so he could know how to turn it on and run it, but not how to debug and code.

I actually liked the idea of Goten's main strength being he was very sociable and was adept in charisma
You know I kind of get it. Making Goten the most Socially adept out of his family is pretty good. Goku is rather clueless for the most part, Gohan is modest maybe even modest to a fault at times with his interactions, Goten having an active social life and being street wise is pretty defining while having some of Goku's intuition with things but applying it in more social situations.
You can tell that was always his character seeing how he go out on dates unlike his dad or bro who were either trick or force to date women against there will.
Applying his dad's inherent innocuousness and likability with Gohan's humble booksmarts but to common sense, the most streetwise is cool. Making him a hit with the ladies be a strength and a flaw, sort of like his dad & brother were in their own ways whilst having the mischeif and creativity dormant he had as a kid makes sense. People say Goten was a bit boring, but he's literally a carefree, incredibly happy litte kid which made him endearing if a little bland. Gohan went through more strife, not being able to have a childhood but there's theories the eldest sibling tends to be the sternest and most responsible because they see more of their young parents trials and tribulations of early adulthood; as by the time the second comes along the parents are of course more experienced and often more stable as well as having to set an example for the younger ones.
Present Trunks' personality - he doesn't have the relationship Future Trunks had with Gohan which likely shaped him, but he does have it with Goten. Future Trunks to me, people think he's cool due to him being a stern rebel - it's a contradiction but he is also a youth still full of hope and an open, good hearted person underneath.
Present Trunks was sort of defined by his good nature, but also his mischeif and snark - he's the son of Bulma and Vegeta for goodness sake. Whilst Vegeta has changed drastically as a character & Bulma matured too, I think making Trunks' defining trait having him be a necktied, mathematics CEO just doesn't really fit well for what we know about him.

I feel like Goten’s new personality is an evolution of the analytical minds that the Son family has. Goku possesses an analytical mind for battle, Gohan for books, and now Goten for social situations. I’m excited to see more of the teens, especially with how they interact with each other now.
The only reason goten is socially aware is that unlike goku and gohan he does have a life in the city unlike the other 2 who either constantly fought or lived in the mountains
@@sul_9999 but Goten grew up in the mountains too. And Gohan went to school in the city as well and had a life there. I think Goten is just more well-adjusted and does better with people than either his father or brother do.
Goku has very good instinct for battle. Gohan tried to be "analytical" back in boo saga but it got backfired.

You can see them testing out personality a bit towards the end of the Super anime, too. I think they had the idea that while Gohan is the intellectual of the family, Goten would be more the wise one of the group have him be more competently reactive to the craziness of his family and friends. I like it, it's a fun little character niche, and I think it works especially well with Trunks' wilder personality.
I feel like Goten's personality in the latest manga chapter is an evolution of how he's portrayed in Super. He played the straight man to his own father, helping him with navigating social cues and how money works. Now he's the man behind the man for his best friend. Goten's become more of himself. It's subtle but I really like it.

It’s great that you also noticed how Goten is much more socially adept compared to his own father and maybe even Gohan. Goten went out his way to teach his own father about manners and to get a gift. It’s cool. He is good at improvising judging from the latest chapter with his quick thinking. You know what would be cool that could maybe separate himself from all the other fighters? Assuming that Goten will have some shine ofcourse. It would be cool if Goten is the one who uses Goku’s old power pole when it comes to fights. He already has the Nimbus now maybe giving him the power pole can be his way of fighting differently compared to everyone else and at the same time a homage to his dad. All while being a super saiyan. That would be cool.
I how Teen Goten and Teen Trunks have been portrayed in the latest chapter. Goten has really grown up and become more confident and having a sense of independent agency while being rational. I like how much Present Trunks personality is different from Future Trunks. I like how respectful and self aware Present Trunks has become.
yup plus having vegeta in his life really impacted him.. like he’s way more self assured and confident in himself then Future trunks was at his age not to mention he transformed far FAR earlier as a result of that confidence. future trunks self belief was not high he doubted and second guessed himself a lot more then trunks in super does..
Hot Take: Goten was the best character in GT. Him becoming a Ladies man is a unique approach, because it provided a reason for him to not be around as much. He's a young man with a completely normal attraction to women, so he spends time respectfully dating them. He was going to go with the others but pan stole his spot. At that point, it was out of his control, so he just went back to his daily life. Goten in Super just isn't around because the writers couldn't find a good way to utilize him.
Same I very much liked GT Goten and mainly for the fact he isn't a carbon copy of Goku anymore and isn't like Gohan.
With Kid Goten being a lot more social than Gohan and hitting puberty it actually makes a lot of sense that he's a polite ladies man (after all I'm sure Chi-Chi made sure Goten was treating them nicely)

Ikr , other than adding that unique thing which isn't far fetched , his personality was like in z , he's naive and was about to jump on Omega when Goku and Vegeta were getting beaten , but Gohan being the level headed one stopped him and said it'd be just getting in their way . I see no problem with the character other than just not being enough included in the journey.
I always thought that GT Trunks feeling constrained with being Capsule Corp's CEO is sensible. Present Trunks was more of a leader, but it was more of a desire for independence than anything else.
Being flooded with the responsibilities of adulthood and paperwork and stuff is pretty suffocating for this kind of guy.
Yeah, his role as CEO is more obligations than being able to do whatever he wants. Yeah hes a leader, but doesnt have much control.

Honestly, I like the idea of Trunks being impatient when it comes to learning technology. He may have Bulma's smarts and more human/calmer demeanor but he still has Vegeta's influence and blood.
So for him, things like waiting for a computer to boot up or process things feel like a waste of time because he's used to the much faster pace of training and analog tools. Things that only go as fast as you do. (Plus prob has the impulsive anger of both parents, so if the computer froze, it would cause more headaches.)
I personally like that trunks doesnt know much abt computers n such, gives bulla something to be unique for the hopefully spin off manga that focuses on trunks, goten, uub, marron, pan and bulla

Gotens personality growth really builds on his upbringing from Z. Chi Chi use to hound Gohan about his education all the time which has led to him be obsessed with it in his adult life. When Gohan goes to train with Goten in the Buu saga he finds out Chi Chi has already taught him basic combat practices. When compared to Gohan it seems like Goten just got to be a kid for the most part and grow up without a ton of pressure aimed at certain facet of his life.

Wait a minute, GT Goten was awesome (from my memory). He wasn't a lusty sleezebag, he was a good guy who fought when he needed to but just happened to get along with the ladies well and had a sense of style while doing it. I'd actually like to see Goten play into his dating side as things go on. (Also I preferred his GT haircut personally.)
We loved Future Trunks because he was a good kid and heroic, but took things seriously and got things done. If they can keep that in mind, I'll be happy as well 👍
Hold on a minute. Gotenks deserves more credit than that. He may have lost to Super Buu, but he still kept him on his toes. I really don't get why everyone, even the writers, hate Gotenks so much. Because even Akira Toriyama treated Gotenks with more respect than he's getting now. Gotenks deserves his time in the spotlight again. It's only a matter of how to write it. Even fan Manga have treated Gotenks with more respect than Gotenks has been getting.

I think a better reason why Trunks can't use computers is because his mother is Bulma. If he ever had any issues or difficulties she would of likely sorted it out for him since she's a genius, but in doing so prevented him learning on his own as he can get her to do it for him.

My headcanon as to why Trunks is scared of ghost is that well, he always was. But when he fused with Goten (who is shown to not really be afraid of those things) it made them come up with the idea that using ghost for an attack would terrify their oppoennts, because Trunks finds them so scary
Really hope goten and trunks come into their own while keeping some of their core traits. Toyataro in a recent interview apparently said he was really gonna push the Mai and trunks relationship so anybody who's really against it are just gonna have to deal with it unfortunately.

I enjoy how Goten is resourceful and quick on his feet. He’s also a lot more street smart, and if this goes well i think he would be the best written out of Goku and Gohan.
The way he supports Trunks and is his reliable friend is amazing, the loyalty is unmatched. He’s a good enough friend to criticise and point out Trunks flaws, which is an amazing characteristic
I really do hope that the “Never been good with computers” characteristic is retconned or changed to something on the lines that Masako said. I cannot sit with that fact at all.

They are side characters. This isn't DC or Marvel. There is one canon, and there is no manga for every side character to be an mc in. There is just one manga and one story. You can't cover everything.
I see the pilaf gang as a reset of their former selves. They’ve been turned into babies grew up to teens as of the point we are in the super series currently. Even though they have kept their previous memories I still accept them as the age they currently are so the Mai X Trunks thing doesn’t bother me. It’s like how Kite from hunter x hunter got reincarnated into a girl chimera ant but retained the memories it had previously. Besides this is fiction it’s not like other novels or stories haven’t done way worse. I am glad to see trunks and goten finally get some much needed development. Chapter 88 was enjoyable.
I feel Goten's personality was kind of a holdover from Super with the scene where Mr. Satan gives Goku a ton of money that Goku is reluctant to accept and Goten has to spell it out for his father that if he gives it to Chi-chi, she'll let Goku train.
Not to mention Goten also was teaching Goku about proper manners and providing a gift. I think Goten has the better social personality of all the Son family including his mom.
Feels like Trunks having no idea how to use a computer despite working for an IT company and needing Goten to help is a reflection of Toriyama and Toyotaro's relationship.

They might do the Ssj Rage thing for Trunks, with this time adapting Ssj Rage to the manga and also giving a proper explanation for how Trunks achieves Ssj Rage, what it is, and also giving it a different name. For Goten, my theory is that the form he will develop will be based on his Ox King heritage and Goku going through Spirit Control training before Goten was conceived combined with Goten’s insane potential and massive amount of S Cells. And then it would be awesome if Goten and Trunks later obtain God Ki and developed their own unique Super Saiyan God forms that’s a mix of the regular Super Saiyan God forms mixed with Goten’s and Trunks’s own individual potential and hidden power.
From what we seen he might be even stupider then his last appearance because of one example and that example is vegito

I love myself some Gotenks. Specifically when in the buu saga of course but I enjoyed him and hoped that as they came of age the fusion would mature aswell. That it'd become more of the badass fusion that gets stuff done. It's a shame how badly they got treated in super because I think he could've been a good character and a great pick for the TOP. While I wish we'd get a chance to redeem Gotenks if they can save Trunks and Gotens characters that's enough for me.
Well, if it makes you any happier, in my rewrite of super I keep in my head, he got to badass fighting Kefla instead of Goku. (He was also grown up in my version as well.)
So maybe Trunks had become more reserved because he has seen his dad's arrogance cause more trouble than its solved and has seen his father become more reserved and is trying to become more like his father now than the brash antihero he used to be.
For Goten he's had 2 male figures to look upto in his life and has probably found a good balance between the two, also ChiChi was less overbearing with him which is why I think Gohan became the way he was to make his mum proud.
Honestly Sayaman makes ALOT more sense for them than it EVER did for gohan, who didn't even "like" fighting.
With Gohan I kinda felt he did it because it felt weird to know he had super abilities but would have to stand by and let crimes happen since he had to pretend to be a regular person. The whole Saiyaman deal was made because just turning Super Saiyan wasn't enough of a disguise. Gohan hates fighting, but he wouldn't be the type to just stand by and let people beat up on some defenseless person if he can stand in and do something about it. It's just he doesn't actively seek out fights like his father does.

I get where you are coming from, how he _"learned a lesson from the cell games that he needs to take an active role in helping people"._ . . but even then, it still feels weird. He doesn't come off as the type of guy who would make a big show out of it. For gohan, it feels like he would be more. . . "pragmatic" about it. Where he would just go in at speeds the eye can't keep up with, take down the bad guy, and then bounce without ever saying a word or being seen. I get the disguise. But I still think he'd be a silent hero if he just wants to keep things secret. That's why it feels weird.

Honestly, it seems like the kids were super sheltered in Buu and into early Super. They didnt have to grow up fighting like their family, and Trunks didnt even know about his past self when he showed up in the present again. I think realizing how deadly their past has been and learning more about the Z Warriors' past has begun to mature them.
Not gonna lie, when you talk about Goten development it makes me feels proud about the young boy finally having his own role to become a unique young man. Looking forward to new chapters and new developments.
I personally LOVE GT Goten, his dad wasnt around til he was 8, it makes sense for him to kinda become a bit angsty and popular with the ladies since he can you know, talk to women unlike Goku and kinda Gohan tbh, like he did not know how to "woo" Viddal in the Buu saga.
Goten never seemed like he was the next generation so seeing him being flirty and dealing with normal teen stuff was one of my highlights from GT. He isnt bogged down in this Saiyan bloodline and hasnt been fighting his whole life/the world like Goku or Gohan so ofc he's not gonna be as serious until at the end of Z and you see Goku training him and maybe kinda tryna snap him back to the fact he's got protentional to be strong as fudge and I aint talking Majin Bu. Just look at Future Trunks, mfer somehow defeated an invincible god type being, within time im sure Goten would also grow into that somewhat (without the whole future trunks timeline giving Trunks a lot of trauma etc)
In reference to Trunks not wanting to be/wanting to be a leader. Wanting to and liking to help guide and lead your close friends around and wanting to and liking to lead around an entire company, with hundreds, if not thousands of employee's, are two very, very different things.

I honestly think it was a good idea to let Goten and Trunks to forget the fusion dance it allows us to explore their personalities, techniques and power as individuals. It makes it more interesting since it makes it less like they are just 2 parts of Gotenks and more like Gotenks is a small part of themselves. It's also gonna be interesting when we see him again like new techniques and new personalities and power he could have.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. One avenue they could take for Goten's development as a character is "what if Goku had grown up in a city rather than as a hillbilly". He's very similar to Goku but with less of a drive to improve. But the change in context from country bumpkin to "actually a member of society" could be enough to make him different from Goku despite sharing the same basic personality.
Goten definitely needs some drive though. He's basically dragged around by Trunks all the time, I don't recall Goten ever once doing something on his own initiative.

I don't think GT Goten was really a womanizer myself, after all he only seemed to be trying to court Valese and what we did see of the two of them on screen, he did his best to be polite and attentive to her needs. Now I don't know if that was fully the case in the Japanese version because I've only watched GT dubbed, but from what I have seen GT Goten is probably just popular with the girls but he's focusing on Valese because she's the one he wants to try and go steady with. Probably would have been more fleshed out if Goten actually got to do more in GT.
Goten and Trunks switching personalities happened with my childhood friend, so that checks out to me. As does the unusual "leader" position with the older of us that faded as we aged.

I had my doubts about the new chapter but now seeing this video you're making me see it in a new light. I guess I misjudged it too early and did not give it some time.
Goten is like Goku if he was raised in a semi normal life (aside from the occasional alien) like if he went to school and was able to experience normal social situations.
I'm liking the direction they're going with Goten and Trunks! Yeah, the "Trunks not being savy with computers and being afraid of ghosts" bit could have been handled a bit better, but that's neither here nor there, I just hope they continue this trend post end of Z. Heck, maybe we can have situations where they would throw Pan and Bulla into the mix and have these funny moments where they could be "the annoying kid sisters", or in Goten's place, niece, or just family bonding moments! I mean, we barely got any interactions between Goten and Pan, and interactions between Trunks and his little sister were virtually nonexistent in GT, that part always annoyed me, among many other things, with GT!
The only relationship GT care about is goku and pan.
@@INFERNO95 Goku was the usual carefree guy in those initial episodes and Trunks was more concerned about Pan than him in multiple scenes , he's the one who apologised for his dismissive attitude and reassured her when she was discouraged because of causing more trouble than being useful , he was more kind to and made a good friend of Giru before anyone else who ended up saving the three of them . Other than some characters who only got added natural traits Trunks got actual on screen development .

Considering how much more developed Goten is now and considering that he’s now the most balanced member in the Son Family, it’s going to be great seeing Goten balance training and fighting with his social life and it’s going to be great seeing how Goten and Trunks progress and develop more in the next chapters of this arc and as the series progresses. Also considering everyone is starting to get their own unique forms, I think Goten and Trunks will eventually get their own unique forms individually as well based on their own individual potential and hidden power. Plus it would be great to see the hidden power Goten possesses, I think it would be awesome if Goten’s Ox King Heritage combined with his insane potential and massive amount of S-Cells and Goku going through Spirit Control training before Goten was conceived adds something really unique and powerful to Goten’s hidden power. And something I definitely want to happen is Goten and Pan developing a very close bond with each other. It would be great to see Goten and Pan become a lot closer and training with each other.

In terms of Mai, I feel like we're overlooking one thing. When the trio have accidentally wished for their youth, and thus turned into children, we have to also take into consideration that they were probably also turned into children mentally as well. Especially when they wished for money, and more importantly, ice cream later on. Just because they have the memories of living up to now doesn't mean that they might understand most of it.
Never considered that, it could be that their brain aging might have reversed as well while somehow retaining their previous memories.

Yeah, the only thing really aging them now is just their past memories. I liked the one part in the manga where Mai said Future Trunks was 'quite the looker' and Bulma pointed out that sounded like something an old woman would say, LOL.

Here lies a character with so much potential. But, in the end, he achieved jack squat.
It's great that they are gonna give growth to Goten and Trunks, but I have fondness for the GT versions, in that universe there was a big time of peace, so it made sense that those characters followed different paths.
One thing I did like about Super, however brief it was for them, was that Goten and Trunks had chances to at least witness more adventures than before. In Z all they really did was enter the tournament and then all the Buu saga. With Super they at the very least got to witness Beerus, Freeza's return, know a bit of the Goku Black situation, Trunks got to meet his future self, protect 17's island, and so forth.
Huh? In Z they were actually a central part and focus to the plot.

I feel like you're giving his characterization in Super Hero a bit too much credit, he still feels much the same as he did in Z with just being trunks friend. I really hope they stop relying on Gotenks as much as let them become stronger individually.

I had an Strange Idea: What If Goku and Gohan Switched places
Gohan would be Kakarot, son of Bardock, sent tô Earth, but he would have his Gohan personality, don't liking fights so much and bring more peaceful, and Goku being his son, an Hybrid saiyan who loves fights.
It would be super interesing since Gohan would be way weaker than Goku in the sagas, Sharing the protagonism with other Z-Fighters until Goku appears.
Even though this could easily be a stretch especially if there was any on the spot input from Toriyama, goten and trunks newer characterizations actually make sense
Trunks has learned that’s he’s not hot sh*t like he thought he was as a kid, and with vegeta being a very disciplinary father and bulma a very short fused mother, trunks likely wasn’t getting away with being the little scamp he used to be, he’s become more subdued while still carrying that sense of pride and partial entitlement from his parents, unlike future trunks who is polite and tactical
Goten on the other hand makes even more sense, he sees the world and others just for who they are without any real deep thought like gohan probably would since he takes a little bit more after goku, that and chichi was a little easier on goten than gohan anyway, but her influence is still there too since he tries to keep a cool organized head about things goku would be puzzled or too blunt to get, this actually was shown in super when goten helped goku order those treats for beerus and whis before the tournament of power

Gotenks I don’t really hate the character. I just didn’t like that he was mostly just a cocky person. Maybe if it’s possible now that goten trunks are older maybe his personality has changed. Again, I don’t want to dismiss this character because of bad decision making’s, because I feel like the character can be redeemed, if given the chance.

I think if we analyze anime genetics, this suggests that something in the Chichi/Goku pairing is definitely leaning towards producing smart people. We know Goku is smarter then he lets on, but the point I'm trying to highlight is Chichi may have a lot more depth to her then she ever gets to display on camera. Somehow I feel that she wasn't quite as lax raising Goten as the Buu saga made it really seem... at least when it came to schoolwork, given how he's turning out now. A first occurance of something is a coincidence, a second starts a pattern, after all.
I kind of dig it. It suggests that there's a lot of potential for intelligence in the Son family (which was told rather then shown with Bardock being a "brilliant scientist"), that when properly nurtured can be applied to incredible effect. Backed up by Chichi not exactly being a slouch herself, and a main shaping force in turning that potential into something (unlike Goku, who never had the opportunity to do so and likely wouldn't have an idea on how in the first place). Makes them all look a bit better.
Trunks & Goten vs. Janemba & Hachiyakk. Great chance to for a story relative to difference between what Gotenks made and whatever beings the latter are and why Trunks would not be okay with them
While I understand your feelings towards GT Goten, I admit that I did enjoy Valese as his girlfriend. Mostly, I’m just glad that a Saiyan male of any percentage ended up with a girl who wasn’t all that feisty like Chichi, Bulma and early Videl were.
If Valese is not a canon character in Super, Fayra might be a potential love interest for Goten. Right?
I would love it if Trunks and Goten story arc is the one that makes SSj4 canon. Having them fight and earn that awesome transformation would be great!

Honestly after the pacing of the granolah arc nothing would be more good than a calm arc that dosen't have any fighting and has character development to the most two characters that need it.
It looks like the series is taking a good turn in my opinion, yes i know some people will want just classic good ol fighting, transformations, etc, but honestly its about time the series takes a break from these kind of arcs and actually focus on its characters for once.
I understand people want to see Trunks and Goten grow as individuals, I totally agree, but it would just be nice to see a little bit of Gotenks whooping ass.
I..... liked GT Goten. He felt like he was completely different from Gohan and Goku, and actually felt like his own character, without being "the next Goku" like Gohan was pushed to be, which, which helped Goten feel more like his own person. Honestly, I really liked the swagger, the cockiness of being Goku's son, and yeah, he was a little bit of a player - but it all felt deserved, you know what I mean?

The thing is, they are POWERFUL. Why would they like superheroes? They are far above anything a comic can do.
I think it make sense for trunks to scared of ghost, in the new chapters he thinks that android created by Dr.Hedo is wearing mask, and trunks not actually scared, its the same like ghost kamikaze, he make it like a ghost, cause he scared of so he taught it could scared buu, the reason why gotenks are chill with the ghost cause well he created them...
Honestly, Goten in GT isn't far off from his end of Z counterpart as he too was trying to go out on dates and whatnot. Also, GT Goten really isn't that bad. He's underutilized and underdeveloped, sure. But then again, so is just about everyone else in the show other than Goku & Vegeta. I'm glad they're giving Goten some more direction, but I don't like how it's at the expense of Trunks. They ruined Future Trunks in Super, and now they're ruining present day Trunks. I get that both Future Trunks and present day Trunks can't act the same because one is basically a war veteran with PTSD and the other is a spoiled brat, but they could at least share the same ideals and attitude when things get serious. Lastly, they need to get rid of the whole Trunks x Mai thing. It's 100% not needed and not to mention it's also wrong. Mai is a grandma in comparison to Trunks. What they should do is have him strike out with Mai, and have him score (STOP IT) with Fayra, the new girl in their school. As for Goten, have him eventually start dating Marron to give her relevancy and family connection. Of course we'd have to wait a little bit of time since there's a slight age gap between the two. Not much, only a 4 years difference, which is perfectly normal. At the end of Z, Marron is 13 and Goten is 17. A little weird, given that very specific age range, but not nearly as weird as a 60-something year old with an 18 year old if you ask me. I know someone is going to state American age of consent laws on this, but you have to remember, this is not bound by American laws since this is a Japanese property with THEIR rules, which just so happen to be 13 is the age of consent there. Oh, and of course they're not real. They're FICTIONAL. Just drawings. So, calm down.

There's a part of me that feels that Gotenks is being "saved" for a time when it would truly show off the growth of Goten and Trunks. After all, if his two contributors are allowed to mature and grow up, what's stopping Gotenks from doing similar? Shoot, there's a part of me that thinks that the very reason the fusion was written to fail in Super Hero was because they wanted one more good "gag" without using the actual Gotenks again. That way, when the ACTUAL Gotenks appears, it'll be something far more meaningful and leaving the joke character aspects in the past.
That said, I'm all for this current arc giving Goten and Trunks their shine, now. The two have both needed and certainly deserved this time.

@@hordakprime6172 Broly kinda adapted ss4, but i wouldn't mind him getting a unique transformation more visually reminiscent of ss4, to complement UI, UE, Beast and Orange. The villains of GT are bad , really bad in their executions, but the concept behind them (except Super 17, nothing to salvage there) are interresting and could be adapted in the futur.
Just like apart from the concept of UI and Goku black the majority of super could be forgotten and not be missed at all . I mean power rangers is always a better alternative

@@Darkflo23 in his defense, yes as those 2 were the main reason most could stay watching the Super anime (note I said anime, not manga). After all, it’s those 2 concepts that most discuss about out of all what u listed. Before those two , the show didn’t garner any much attention as it wasn’t interesting, after all, having the 1st 2 arcs be the movies with no new info added, wasn’t interesting. The multiverse concept could have been handled so much better instead of being compressed into one arc, ruining what could have been one of the best world building in shonen . The humans, while some ppl did like them, has its share fair of issues power scaling as (seeing this is the DB community we are referring to and it can’t do without power scaling)
Hell if anything, Super’s success as an anime is garnered not only to those 2 alone but also nostalgia. So going back to his point, it’s kind of understandable. GT has things it’s remembered for, same as super, if u remove they key points that made the shows worth watching, then there is nothing interesting to watch as the rest has been mishandled
I really liked Gotenks. I liked its goofy and young trunk's voice which sounded squicky, angry and cool.

Toyataro officially confirmed that a romance between Trunks and Mai in the next Chapter 89. He said that Mai will be going to the Blue Hal High School with Trunks and she will be his classmate. He promised more romantic moments. Goten has 2 new friends - the black boy named Chok and the white girl named Fayra. In GT, Goten didn't have any friends expect for his girlfriend Valese.
I look at Trunks unwillingness to work with computers as a sign of his intelligence that the computer isn't able to keep up with him, thus he gets frustrated.
