But at the same time it gave us perc angle.
Yet he chose the fall off everything path.

This clip was gold for laughs. “Beholden to the H.” 😂
“Did Y2K scare you?” - “Fuck Jericho!”😂
As a recovering addict, I can’t tell you ABSOLUTELY YES! It has had to at least passed through their minds, “this is another way for me to score something legally”. I know that if I was a wrestler and I was an addict, the way I was addicted to pain pills, I would’ve done almost anything to get those pills!
It's a rough road to go down, speaking from experience myself. There wasn't much of anything I wouldn't do just shy of robbing/killing some or "performing favors." GoFundMe wasn't around during my time with opiates, and that's probably a really good thing. Hahaha
Hey brother real talk that's incredible what you have done. If no one else tells you this today, you are a role model for having done your dance with the devil, lived, and grew from it. Respect man
And if they weren't addicted before they started, they sure will be when they're done.
14:15 Brian: "Were you afraid of Y2K?" Corny: "Fuck Jericho!" OMG 🤣🤣🤣 my eyes are watering from laughing so hard!!
Just to remind everyone that the wrestler's name is G-Raver. Grover is just what Jim calls him. See also: Jade "Jane" Cargill and Megha "Megan" Parekh.
Kenny Olivier is Twinkletoes
@@nickhughes8179 - I know that.
He's still a muppet.
I seriously doubt anyone cares what their names are. 😂
thank you
Opiate addiction is no joke and serious business. I empathize with anyone that's fighting that demon.
He's not doing the pain medicine because of the wrestling. He's doing the wrestling to amplify the reasons to get the drugs. Addicts have all kinds of excuses. I know this better than anyone.
Yeah fighting it myself and it's hell any way you look at it. I hope you're doing good and recovering or at least getting control of your demons.
G-Raver in his last match was about to shove a series of open scissors into his abdomen. Yeah, that caused the other guy to quit, but WTF if he had slipped and fell into him, or been so spaced out he freckin did it? Those morons are a whisker from a real death in the ring.
"He snorted his Go Fund Me" hahaha
They have no motivation. They just have a sad, morbid need to hurt themselves for real in front of nobody, for nothing.
Axl Rose is from Lafayette. Mr Brownstone is named after the place he used to buy his heroin. The Brownstone apartments are still there on Purdue's campus.
I hope it at least makes it to stand tunes at football and basketball games.
Now I get up around whenever. I used to get up on time.
Brownstone is a reference to the drug. Not apartments.
I laughed so hard for a few minutes when I saw Travis's artwork for this video. Grover the Outlaw Wrestler lol
The powder on the nose really brings the message home.
@Pugna. Found the Grover fan.
What did Travis do to you, lol?
My God. At the 2:20 mark when Jim said, "Have them beholden to the H", I had to pull over to the side of the road b/c I was laughing so hard. 🤣🤣🤣😂
Brian: "Will you afraid of Y2k?"
Jim: "Fuck Jericho"
Lol 😂
Heroine is what people turn to when they can no longer afford prescription opiates. Heroine is cut with baby laxative and I've even seen talcum powder. The opiates you get from the pharmacy is much purer than what you get on the corner and that's part of how people get hooked. You get addicted to the prescription but when it runs out, you can't easily get more. Then you seek outside and it's not as pure or strong. You're constantly chasing a high and it drains you financially, mentally, physically and you're just a shell of your former self.
The Wire described what you mentioned as "stepped on trash"
depends on where you get it. I knew a guy that used to get china white that was pure enough to snort or smoke. I guarantee you that was better than any pill you were gonna get.
You also get physically ill during withdrawal, watched a friend go through it as he was getting off it.
Actually they shooting up Fentanyl way more than heroin and it's doing far more damage.
A person's relationship to h, were they to have one, is generally much more complex than that. N b4 u give a sermon, spell heroin. Smh.
Travis strikes again!!🤡 Even Mick has said light tubes are as dangerous as hell. They explode with glass fragments and other garbage.
14:15 Cornette's delivery on that was perfect LOL
"I could stretch him" 😂😂😂
Lmao yes that was perfect love Jim! 🤣
I remember reading that a few "wrestlers" in czw got paid in pills
That was a different deathmatch promotion. And even John Zandig said that the guy who ran that promotion said he was a scumbag.
that was IWA Mid South. Ian Rotten gave pills to JC Bailey as payment apparently
Brian just lagging himself in.. "I was more into uppers" 😅

That simple.
These folks are from the fringes of society, and don’t have much as far as self-esteem goes.
How else do you explain taking a light tube to the face?
This can be a valid point, gcw has started marketing itself as a little promotion with the heart of gold,a place where the rejects are accepted and since 2021 and while i like the idea i think it s bullshit since they mostly do freakin deathmatches
In his biography, Miles Davis was on his dad’s farm in a separate house with an upstairs trying to kick heroin and he said he was going to jump out the window to die and stop the pain but was worried about if he survived how much worked he would fell so he didn’t do it. That’s all I needed to know.

heroin is dirt cheap. i have an uncle who does it and he pays $5-$10 a bag and bags are tiny its enough to fit in a teaspoon. people who do pills, smoke weed, drink alcohol pay more.
I use to enjoy watching deathmatch wrestling back in the early 2000s but I grew up and the whole things is fucking gross and sad
Shock value wanes. I'm a huge fan of true crime books, I'm a huge fan of horror films. Extreme Wrestling serves no purpose none.
I once saw a guy overdose on heroin at work, then saw him the next day at his house after he got fired, still doing heroin. I didn’t get it until I was given OxyContin in the military, and it made me feel way too good. I had to flush my pills down the toilet before I got hooked.
Good on you for flushing them.... Thanks for your service
@thebosswolf5680 You’re welcome
Good choice man! We can fight through our pains to end this epidemic!
I remember Joe Rogan saying "it feels like a warm hug" when explaining how oxy felt the time he got it prescribed.
The best description ever, I don't remember when I heard it, probably before start using, but as is today I had od 2 times on tramadol (sober now) and since then that phrase stick with me because it's so true.
It feels like when you you are in love of your first gf. A very good, powerful feeling, hard to ignore, hard to not want, specially for those who haven't really experienced that in the real world and life, it's something more than just addiction.
At some point the chemical addiction just takes over and get lost, you no longer feel the "goodness" of the drug, but keep craving more in hopes of one more time, which is when becomes the last time.
Plus withdrawal symptoms are hell on earth, a nightmare.
I struggle so much with tramadol I cannot imagine how it is with oxycodone or heroin, but at the same time I wonder how those feel like, I really miss that feeling, maybe one more time?
The only thing keeping me clean is the hell that is abstinence, otherwise I would be on heroin by now, probably dead already, luckily I have got the best motivational bump I had in a while and I wanna do something else than just OD, hope it lasts.
But, one day at a time.
@carloscjr23 that’s exactly how oxy feels. Like a warm hug. I took some then drifted into the best sleep of my life; when I woke up I immediately flushed the rest of the pills down the toilet.
Stay strong man.
Indiana resident here, Axl Rose was from Lafayette, IN. I've read that the cheaper drugs are actually mrore expensive. The reasoing being that while it may be $5-10 to buy, a person has to buy so much just for maintanance and ends up spending more.
This talk makes me so glad I’ve been straight-edge since I was a teenager.
Cm punk would be proud
Somehow I found CM Punk as a teenager and became a fan and adopted the sXe style, lol. Prob a better path than pain pills, dunno
From heroin to that manscape promo 🤣🤣🤣 holy hell
A drug, in society, becomes more illicit based upon it's affordability and the punch it packs, per cost. Heroin is so taboo, or illicit, because it does both quite well; the danger for users: availability and the drive to essentially sell their souls for it. Enough people, then society as a whole also suffers.
I'm glad he finally got around to the fact that it's not just deathmatch wrestler. It's the wrestling industry in general.
Yup: cocaine, steroids, alcohol, opioids, from top to bottom

WE'VE BEEN DANCING WITH MR. CORNETTE
Dude snorted those bags trying to avoid charges. He was trafficking or muling, probably a habitual user either way, was getting pulled over and tried to get as much H gone as he could. Less weight/bag count = lower charges. He knew he'd overdose, but had a pretty good certainty of a narcan rez with the cops on his ass and took the risk.
I highly doubt anyone being pulled over by the fuzz has time to rack up all ten bags of smack in the car into a line and get it up their nose quick enough.
You would be surprised
@@jbo8540 he was already passed out when the cops got there. He was on the side of the road not moving but passed out behind the wheel so he got charged with a dui among several other charges. No way he was trying to scarf it down to avoid time because he was overdosed already. A passerby called the police and reported him passed out and when they pulled up he had to be narcan’d
Simply vile stuff

"Ian Rotten should have done a run in" - Jim Cornette
I'm glad Jim doesn't know heroin is cheap. It became common knowledge in my area after lots of pain pill addicts jumped to heroin since heroin is way cheaper. This lead to a lot of deaths since dealers would cut their supply with any powder that was similar in look and density.
This makes sense .... I totally couldn't understand why people do this .. I get being hardcore to an extent but I just saw a dude take a weed whacker to the damn stomach .. whyyyyy!!!!
Recently, or back when Nick Mondo did it? If it was Mondo's that case then it wasn't being a drug addict, Mondo really was a lunatic trying to prove he was that hardcore. Depression somehow played a role, getting CZW "on the map" apparently helped him overcome his depression, but once he was in a better place mentally he realized he was going to die and retired from wrestling altogether.
Sadly, this is why you can’t give an addict money. All those people who cared about his medical bills enough to donate almost inadvertently killed him with their generosity.
“You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themslef.”
Yep my cousin was like that for a long time.
Who is he talking bout ?
That would be mostly fentanyl very little heroin heroin is insanely expensive it can’t be synthesized cheaply thus using fentanyl as 95% of opium comes from Afghanistan hard if not impossible to get.

Heroin is exceedingly cheap..because it's mass manufactured fentayl from China.
Man Scape does not pay this man enough, this promo is brilliant
14:15 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 "fuck Jericho"
Groucho Marx would have said "The secret [phrase] today is "white trash." "It's a common thing found around the indy wrestling ring."
I always assumed cocaine was the most expensive, it’s a rich persons drug of choice for many.
Heroin is more expensive overall. Harder to smuggle and way more addictive.
@wolfgangkrauser1772 That's probably because as mentioned, it's a rich man's drug. It's a signal to the audience the can afford "the best" or "has taste" if they're lower class. Look at meth, that's the trailer park drug, has no social cache but it's cheap to make and easy to smuggle.
It’s a helluva drug
Motivation? Maybe being born in the late 90s and early 2000s and only catching the final few years of ECW and TNA. They think that's what wrestling is. Lame, low budget skits and people doing stupid stunts. Early ECW, except for going too far, was terrific. The realism was great. But as time went on, they lost their talent to the big companies and were left with guys who were just glorified stunt doubles, and that's who these kids coming up want to be. Not wrestlers. Reality show stars and stunt doubles, like the people they grew up watching.
Well said 👍
TNA was actually good for a long time.
What does this say about Moxley wanting to get involved in that scene, and supposedly having a contract to keep him away from appearing at those events, when around the same time he was booking himself into rehab - was it really just drink?
Or does he have a history we don't know about, that he was maybe in danger of slipping back into?
Wow. I didn’t know who the hell they were talking about. Until I read the comments. I actually got to meet and work with Brandon about 10 or 11 years ago. He was a skinny spot dude. Super quiet and friendly.. I’m surprised by what he’s become.
I’ve been on prescription pain medication for almost 18 years, so you can rightly say I’m addicted……although I don’t understand how anyone gets “high” off Percocet or fentanyl. Yes, they are great pain medications. Without them, I would barely be able to do my day to day tasks (8 spinal fusion operations, moderate/severe nerve and spinal cord damage)…..but if my Dr said “You can’t take these anymore”….I would go through the withdrawal process and just go without the best I could.
Street chemists don’t give a good gawddayum about you, your health, or your family. They want your money - PERIOD. People need to stay the hell away from them and use common sense
If you been on them of 18 years I challenge that statement. Go one day and report back see if you made it.

Heroin is 100 dollars a gram in Baltimore but if you go just a little bit south to Virginia it can get expensive as 50 dollars for 1/10th of a gram
Sounds about right for Virginia. We can't scrounge up money to renovate all the industrial graveyard or improve the QoL of all the people that live in those areas, or even get our heads together enough to get some major league sports without having to drive up to DC, but we'll gouge you for drugs compared to the states next door.
Also, DMV represent!
Not that I know anything about any of this but I would imagine there's also a giant quality difference between that $10 bag and/or that glowing briefcase from Pulp Fiction😅😅😅
I guess it would depend on how much heroin was in the bags. Pantera wrote a song about heroin called 'Tens', referring to the cost. This is the best reason i've heard yet as to why people do these garbage matches. Not agreeing with it, definitely don't like it but it does make rational sense at some sad angle.
Plus Phil Anselmo nearly died from a heroin OD in 1996.

I shot heroin for years. It's not any more expensive than cocaine, but it absolutely takes control. Heroin is too good. Literally, no matter how fucked your life is, it makes you okay with everything and feel no pain, mental or physical.
I can see how people doing death matches would A) want heroin, and B) be willing to do death matches to score heroin. Probably a cycle for them at that point.
Quitting heroin is the hardest thing I've ever done, and will always have been the hardest thing I've ever done. Everything that can go wrong in your body, does. Like the worst flu you've ever had. Cold chills (you are freezing, sweats, runny nose, aches everywhere, specifically back and knees, restless legs, eyes watering, non-stop yawning, puking and shitting, can't sleep, you're angry, your eyes are sensitive to light, and it's knowing that 20 dollars will make it go away. I've watched a lot of friends die from it. It's fucking hard to quit. It's too good, and relapsing happens a lot. Once you're hooked, which doesn't take long and often comes from being doctor prescribed, you're hooked and getting off is hell.
Over 7 years clean now, but it took a long time to get off and stay off, I imagine some slum lord death match promoter holding a contract obligation over your head makes quitting even harder.
Props to you,, my friend. Stay clean.
Heroin isn't expensive because it's way more dangerous so pharmaceuticals always run a far bigger price because it's not made by home chefs cuz you know what you're getting
I feel like this total applies to that era of wrestling from the 80s - early 2000s when wrestlers had no care for what they were putting their bodies through. Another excuse to pop that 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th pill

@@skateurbutt It's cool, and yeah I think a lot of these things are getting mixed in to one story, which makes sense given how sadly similar a lot of these drug and death stories are.
It makes sense to me, especially knowing some of the garbage "wrestlers", I've known & worked on shows with. Headcanon accepted
Heroin is one of those drugs that has become cheaper as the years went on, while the purity went up.
In the 1970s, heroin was about $30 a bag and had a purity of just under 30%.
Now you can get it for less than $5 a bag in some places, where it has a purity level of between 80% - 90%.
There's a number of factors for it. Partly it would be the flooding of it into the market through growing of the poppies in South West Asia. Mostly Afghanistan these days.
When in the 70s, it all came from places like Laos, Burma, and Vietnam.
If you want an idea of just how easy it is to get, but also the consequences and side effects of it, then I can't recommend enough watching Euan McGregor in the movie Trainspotting.
