@@le0nardus599 when is kickdown button pressed on bus with ZF transmission it shifts between 2100 and 2400 rpms.... In case of holding gears, it wont shift on 3000rpms, if you wont select D on selector...
@@piter_sk You have not seen the Berkhof Ambassadors in Holland with Cummins engine and Voith gearbox Those yelling vacuüm cleaners on wheels are constantly shifting back and forwards It's management could not choose a proper gear The engine is too light and the gearbox does not fit for this type of engine So if the gears are yammed the rpm's are stil comming till even above max rpm witch is set in the mortormanagement I have read about such a case where the bus is reaching speeds above 130 km/h on th ehighway and this bus was not controlable It was even going faster and faster and luckely the driver was managing the bus in free mode And after that hell broke loos Screaming engine and fire Luckely everyone could escape when the bus stopped and bursting in flames Stil with screaming engine till it was engulfed in flames and died This was later repeated but not so heavy as this particular case ( on the highway to Ter Aar ) Later 2 drivers where killed by those buses Theyr heads are stuck between the doors and choke the drivers to death Nice bus but with killing capabalities No way i get in such a bus
@@notused6779 Those buses where about brandnew to 3..4 years when this happened with the whole fleet of Ambassadors Cause: Too light/weak engine and failing gearbox from Voith The later models had a ZF 6 speed gearbox and the problems are over But the whole fleet is sold to abroad for the new and less emission producing engine's and some models have a electric engine and diesel-engine ( hybride ) Most of the buses have a natural gas engine
@@michaeldouglas2243 as a citizen of Athens that has lived with the MBs for some years and now with the MANs with both 4 and 6 speed trans (A37/23 and A21 respectively) I can say that the MBs have good acceleration due to their gear ratio, at the first 3 (5 speed), but they kinda lack top speed as the engine power is less than a MAN's. Think that the Mercedes is (or maybe, was) at 250 HP, a MAN is at 280-310 and 370 (A23), plus their torque is imcomparable to a MB. I was in a car at 100 km/h and an A23 was in front of us, and very slightly pulling away, so I can say it was at 105 top speed.

RPM counter is not good Its value is too low You can bet that the rpm,s are reaching the 2500..2700 in case of holding gears
