Why would you wait so long when a tenant stops paying rent before going to court. If a tenant doesn’t pay rent for 2 months it’s time to go to court. It’s all for the tenant.
Unfortunately, sometimes landlords try to be understanding with people who are unreasonable.
When my tenants don’t pay I give them 5 days. Then they get a notice. They have 14 days to pay the rent or I start eviction proceeding. The unfortunate thing is that eviction courts have long wait times. Landlords need to stop being suckers believing people’s hard luck stories. There is a reason they have problems renting. I have bills to pay too. Just because I have saved my money to buy rental properties doesn’t mean I’m rich. I just work hard and save every last penny.
Exactly , i rent and i pay. I've fell on hard times as we all have. But i have always told my landlord and organized a payment plan . I even pay extra on higher wage weeks, so if i do ever fall on hard times i am in advance 😊 @Wendy-yg8yu
Because many landlords are also working themselves and try to help out their tenants when they have issues paying rent.
The courts will refuse a landlords claim for only a couple months rent needs to be over a certain amount unfortunately
You so often hear about people helping others out just to get it thrown back in your face.
I think that’s mostly because you don’t hear about it when someone helped another person and it went very well. We focus on the negative, not the positive.
Unimaginable what a Landlord has to go through. The law should be revised for both tenant and Landlord
@@prancer4743 Landlord on a USA squatters show went to the local bikers bar and hired the lot of them to 'visit' the squatters. They were out that day.😆🦘
womp womp.
Stop buying up houses that families could buy.
Rodents are partially the tenants problem as well, especially when it comes to hoarding
My thoughts exactly. Sort the power, water, boiler and flooring issues then the tenants needs to come to the party and clean up his hoarding act.
Exactly!!
Clean up your hoard and then you can control the mice.
The hoarder needs to unhoard
Whole building needs to be condemned.
The hoarding situation is partially the tenants fault. Should never have gotten to that point. TELL YOUR LANDLORD WHEN PROBLEMS START FFS
The hoarder with a bad landlord should be made to get rid of his hoard. It is not all the landlords issue . Lets be fair okay !!!!!!!!
how is a landlord supposed to fix anything in that hoard?
My landlord begged me to stay and even reducing rent as I keep the house much cleaner than when she lives there. She'd burst into the house checking every rooms only to find a spotless minimalist designer living there
Tradesmen would be reluctant to enter that property and I don't blame them.
Absolutely agree!! Peoples hoards can damage the structure of a building, just from the sheer weight of the hoard. Rodents love living in hoards. If there was a water leak in his apartment, he wouldn't know- he wouldnt be able to see it!
Wow, I was surprised at these stories. Here in New Zealand there are very clear landlord and tenant responsibilities, and what each one needs to do if there is a problem. If the problem doesn't get rectified quickly, either one can go to the Tenancy Tribunal which makes a ruling. Most properties get inspected every 3 months. No way would someone get thousands behind in rent. It's not fool-proof but it seems better than this! I hope there is a blacklist of bad tenants over there.
And if you use a letting agent here in New Zealand, any non paid rent is dealt with swiftly.
@@BinoDist exactly. As soon as you are 1 week behind (we pay weekly) you'd better ring up the management company or the landlord and sort it out.
Same as here in Australia. We have very strict rules which sounds the same as NZ.
I will NEVER rent any place or will I EVER be a landlord. Don't need the headaches. Nightmares.
So you own your own house?
@@gardenpixie20yes
I rented to a friend. Worst decision of my life. They think that they can get away with it because you WERE friends.
Never rent to friends or family
Same thing happened to me. The wife and I swore we'd never rent out again.
Not a friend was he or she. A true friend would have not done that
That Hoard is a fire hazard.... The hoarder should clean up
never rent to friends or family
Why are the majority of slum landlords always Indian..
What I dont understand is why reck the place up?
U need a place to stay why not keep ot clean?
Order the renter to clean his mess out before the landlords come to fix anything if not then just leave him in there
They think they can get away with it because they can!! And all you here on the news is that there are bad Landlords 😡
The man who owns my house lives in England. He's never set foot on this property. He hires the worst management companies. I loved the last management company but they quit because Simon, the owner didn't want to pay for things to get fixed. He's a slum lord. He's lucky I don't want ppl coming here or he'd have sold it long ago. My son has learned to fix a lot of things from watching yt vids😂 but we had to buy a new sump pump a few months ago. We have 2 sump pumps so I freak out when it storms because if we lose power, the basement floods.
David put all ur things in a storage before they are ruined., please brother
This and all these videos are very old happened years ago
Someone has reposted them to make RUclips money
There is something wrong with the law that allows people to stay without paying a rent for months
Some people loose their jobs snd can’t paid. Have you ever had to choose between rent or electricity or food? Guess not lucky you!
I just wanna say that I think the Barnes family is just absolutely amazing the way that they love each other and come together in the end and clean up that entire mess that is so awesome and these are the types of people that are going to make it in life!
Why are these landlords letting people fall so far behind in rent before they take action ?? 🤷♀
The UK is now sadly become a toilet.
Kate is a coward lol
My husband and I rent from his boss, we've lived here 9 years and it's worked out great.
How do they imagine landlords can pay bills if renters don't? Nothing should benefit the renters over the landlord. I've had 7 units trashed in one year of managing a trust and selling things off.
WOMP WOMP.
Don't treat housing as an investment and you won't have to deal with these problems :)
Whoa 😳😳 people always want things for free just like my ex room mate always wanted stuff for free karma bit her
That disintegraded bird on that backyard was pretty Blair witchy.
Its the old story 'I was doing them a favour'. People need to learn, when it comes to property, dont do favours, people will take advantage.
That gent who helped out the coworker can sue her for lost rent but its more court fees and then hiring bailiffs to seize any assets.
I have a different situation in the "Grand old USA".... My landlord just happens to be Cuban which is irrelevant, but I have expired smoke detectors, no fire extinguisher, water leaking through the ceiling from the air conditioning pan in the Attic, and I had to install a window unit because the (ancient) air conditioning hp cannot keep up with the size of the house, not to mention it is a 16 year heat pump , leaking kitchen faucet, leaking toilet... Add he terminated the pest control. I guess the termites will be back. Because the armadillos are in full force in the yard!! All for close to $2000 month.....in THE SOUTH USA!! Never mind the clogged up dryer vent that exits on the roof. So I cannot use my NEW dryer safely. And the last time he came over to fix the toilet, he flushed a t-shirt. And my grinder pump stopped working, meaning no utilities....
I just feel sorry for the next FOOLS.....AND He is PLANNING to raise the RENT!!
It's time to move!
She would have mysteriously DISAPPEARED
Lesson to learn from Wayne's story, never show kindness to human beings, they are most ungrateful creatures on earth..
Why even rent at this point?
The fact that he said thank you, Katie is nauseating thank her for what Robbing you?!
That’s crazy
This is what happens when you rent to people on benefits
That first landlord with the blue door got off lucky, he thought that was bad? That could have been way worse.
I have never ever been a landlord & would never want to. I have had many years of being a renter in not great places, 2 of them with septic problems that they just would not deal with. I am so glad I own my own home.
I'm obsessed with this series 😮 , we don't have any shows like this in the USA 🤷🏾♀️ if so I haven't heard of it .
Me too. It's an eye opener. I live in Australia. So different over here.
Yes, but there are situations like this in the US. In New Jersey, last yr, a landlord told his tenant, that he was selling the house that she was renting from him and he gave her plenty of notice. So in response to him selling the house, she lit a match to the gas and blew the house up, killing herself, and destroying the next door neighbors house totally.
These incidents are just not filmed for a show. In Phila., PA, a bailiff/sheriff officer ended up shooting a tenant regarding rent. At least the bailiffs/sheriffs don't shoot people in the UK..
In the south, they come with their guns drawn on eviction day, and the Eviction is classified as a felony on your record for the rest of your life in that state, and you are not allowed rent anymore. I have seen this incidents on the TV news, tragic.
I am so glad things worked out for Jason, it could have gone badly, but the landlord stepped up
There is a children's book that I always use in life, that explain how humans will always act. " If you give a Mouse a Cookie!" Y'all know what I'm talking about.
Jason has a physcological problem that needs to be addressed too. His hoarding compulsion will keep him living in that unkempt slum for years.
Jason could clean without hot water. Lysol, bleach, etc all come in spray bottles. He used lack of hot water as an excuse to avoid addressing his hoarding.
Vote Reform.
I'm glad for Jason, but he needs to remove at 75% of the items in his apartment/flat. The outside of the bldg also needs repair as well.
What a joke! That dodgy landlord isn’t going to fix that hoarding rathole, it needs to be condemned, period, and that tenant needs to be in a mental health facility, cause he obviously has a serious problem.
There is more to Wayne (landlord), and Kate's (tenant) story that isn't being told here. I think they had a relationship or he was sexually harassing her in the past. There is way more to this saga than meets the eye.
Still doesn't excuse her not paying rent and leaving all her trash.
the easy fix is hire your local HA associate pest control / debt collector to pay a visit and you watch how fast those insects leave the place it will cost a lot less too Seriously
The slum lord in Jason's case is a TRUE immigrant slum lord. Man could care less about the country he is in or its people
Any Indian origin Landlord anywhere in the world is a problem
@@MGold00 why do you say that? Honestly curious
He was a hoarder and probably didn't tell the landlord. The landlord fixed ALL the problems in 11 weeks. Give me a break
Jason's landlord is an Indian, he obliged with everything the officer & Jason demanded.. We need such landlords... 👍👍👍
It must be Blue turban day in England.
Kate’s hairdo explains everything
Observation: All of the landlords drive Audis. What do the tenants drive?
Mercedes...
23:30 its like watching little britain
Its the law that's crazy n not the landlord.
most. Feel bad for Wayne, he tried helping this lady, shes terrible, hope they kick her out.
This abuse of tenant has gone way too far, and show that being landlord doesn’t really worth the hassle having tenants because created anxiety and the law is in favour of tenants,so why to be landlord ,invest your money in other commodities and stay away from land ownership ,
YES.
Stop buying up family homes as "investments" and leave them to the natives so they can actually get on the property ladder for their family instead of being priced out.
Well Katie was a bit of a thing wasn’t she🙄
Yes major landlord and tenant issues! But what about the traffic-sooo car centric? Have seen both terrible landlords and terrible tenants. Seems like little can be done to mitigate this never ending situation. For sure do not be Mister Nice Guy and rent to folks you feel sorry for. Beyond that tenants are the product of social Darwinism and capitalist scaffolding that keeps them financially disadvantaged as feeling trapped. That’s life in the real world.
Wayne is a hottie❤❤❤
This is just terribly unfair for landlords, to not be paid, then have to clean it too. This is why we have huge security deposits, and first/last months rent. It might seem unfair, but I remember having to clean toilets, get rid of stuff that the tenant should have gotten rid of, and cleaned. One tenant let a leak go, which rotted the wood, under the tub, which was giving way under the tub/shower. It was $15K to fix, and get ready for the next tenant. We learned to pay for a service, which did the investigative part of checking on tenants. It was well worth it, and allowed us to lower the security deposit, too.
Bad renters are the main problem.
That black dude going ”So what???” makes racism look reasonable…
Funny when 90% of these videos is pale English sobs, with not a schilling to their name.😂😂
NEVER.
Racists are people too
Huh - how o earth can unit just get the cops to kick her out?
Music is to rowdy can't enjoy it will wake the house.cant watch
What did you really expect from someone who stoled a copyrighted show
Jason is a hoarder
Why one Mt pass,2 Mt pass,3 Mt pass,a and no rent, why wait so long to.
Product placement: Audi and VW
So shocking for rich country ya ladd
To''al Bri't'ish!! Mayyyte!!!
The man in Kettering who got his place back and now doing renovations.....he should've started by replacing that terrible looking shabby blue door!!😂
Seen a lot worse!
These are very old videos and someone has reposted them
12:05 i feel sorry for that man, horrible condition live😨 how they even think anyone could live that apartmen diacusting.i dont think that apartmen can repair.. it need build from start
I've watched a few a lot of Ep. It's the tenants that are the problem.
If the tennant doesn't say anything because he doesn't want anyone to see his hoarding. What can they do?
Why because they can? Nothing deters these types of slum landlords and anti-social tenants, there needs to be pension and stronger laws.
Prison sentences.
those flats are nasty anyway, landlords didnt spend lot in refubrishing
6:26 why is his neck so red??
