@@2Broke2Quit my Ford Explorer 2010 was made in the U.S, but this 2WD SUV model was only released in Asia. I can live without rear entertainment if I cannot find the harnesses. I bought everything you bought here on Amazon. Arrived within 6 days.
@@kgpcodes you will need to remove the stereo again and test the wires from the back of the stereo, and you have signal there.. then remove rear speakers and test there. The harness does both the front and rear from the same plug (White, Grey, Green, Purple). If you used butt connectors, make sure you did not sever the wires while crimping. Also, make sure to check the Fade in your stereo settings and make sure it is set in the middle of front/rear.
@@2Broke2Quit the rear speakers work. My Ford Explorer is a limited edition with an entertainment system on rear seats. There's a TV. I suspect I need to buy cables to get that working. Only if I can find them. Otherwise, it's probably fine if the rear entertainment system doesn't work.
I have a boss double din radio. Installation went great, because I watched your video. However, having trouble connecting the backup camera due to canbus. Do you have any recommendations for wire harnesses that use a canbus? I’ve been trying to find some at Amazon but none make sense for my 2007 Sports trac. Can you provide a wire harness using the canbus?
I used the adaptor to plug in directly to factor harness. You can test the illumination wire with a test light/bulb. Once it lights up, adjust the dimmer dimmer switch to make sure it gets dim/bright.
The illumination wire simply triggers the dimmer for the aftermarket stereo. The stereo detects power from that wire, and dims to a preset level. Hope this helped.
I bought a similar Boss radio head unit as yours and I noticed the reception of radio stations is much worse than the stock unit I removed. Did you have a similar experience? I have a 2006 Ford Explorer.
Www.crutchfield.com is a good site to use to figure out what you need. Scroll down to car audio and enter your year, make, and model. Then you can choose from what fits your vehicle.
Using your video to try and get mine installed. I'm not getting anything from the radio but the other functions work. It's very confusing because I do not have a labeled parking brake wire. I do have a steering wheel, and an NC cable left over with nothing to connect to on the new wire harness. anyone in the comments have ideas?
Word of advice.... If you're going to make any instructional videos on HOW TO DO SOMETHING, you should actually show HOW YOU DID IT, not just talk about what needs to be done and then do what needs to be done when the camera is off.
he's taking extra time to explain how to do it with one hand. I understood it very clearly, if you didn't you should bring it to a radio shop to get yours installed.
Thank you Tee Nice, I could have set up tripods and multiple cameras, but this video was more about how to get the radio installed in the dash rather than a complete a-z install. I might make one of those tho!

Thank you for this tutorial. This saved me a ton of work. Especially since I had to take out the center console first!!
@@craigclairmont my pleasure! More to come soon! Thanks for tuning in 👍
Followed this and stereo system at rear no longer works. I also get a code for that. It's impossible to clear. Uncertain how to get it working.
Can you give me a little more details? What model Explorer?

It should be a single RCA with a power wire with it.
good day. so the 2nd plug is for your sub woofer. Did you find a connector for it and does your aftermarket radio have a subwoofer input?
I just ran Power, Gound, Remote, and RCA to the rear.
Hi friend. Where did you connect the Illumination wire front the radio to? To which color of the Explorer wiring harness?

Mine seemed to work pretty good. I mainly stream music tho. Might check antenna wire/adapter to make sure nothing got pulled or came unplugged.

Ordered online. Weather tech all weather floor liners.
What size stereo system did you get???
Right now I just got JL component (ZR650) 6.5 interior speakers and will probably go with one JL 12 or two 10's
