I tried it directly into a power conditioner. I've also tried it with 3 different Manley Ref C mics. It's just how the mic is with my gear I guess. The Silver into the same setup is dead quiet... So IDK?
Hey again Brent, one question on the Ref C....self-noise.....I can even hear it here between words. No issues as long as the vo is on a music background? Also any thoughts on this vs the Telefunken TF 47 or 51
My model has noticeable self noise. I took it back to Manley and had them look at it and they said its all good, but as you can hear it has self noise. I only tried the 47 because of my voice print, but the quality is professional grade all the way.
@@trailervobrentwhich microphone would you choose for achieving a modern pop vocal sound with full and clear tones: the Manley Reference Cardioid or the WA-8000? I know this is subjective but iii have a golden ear.
if you want a crisp modern sound def Manley. I use U87 for my own music (pop-punk genre) and I'm going to sell it, sounds extremly dull and muddy also kind of nasal. Very unplessant for modern sound, but perfect for kind of vintage sound or early 2000s sound. But def not the modern standarts.
I don't think its Better. It's a different thing. The price point isn't even close. Its a 1200 vs a 3600 mic. But I've used the WA 8000 on a lot of TV promos and Trailers.
How does it do w/ loud sounds? I tend to scream/get loud a lot when I'm with my friends and it doesn't pick it up as my voice but as angry static. ruclips.net/video/ZXXt4wQnrU0/видео.html&ab_channel=CaptainGoose At 0:06
Every voiceover job should go to this guy. He's unbeatable.
I agree HAHA
Did you ever get the noise issue resolved ? Maybe you don’t have a power conditioner ? Idk, I don’t want to assume I don’t know your setup

its so sharp? need lots of de-essing?

How’s it compare to the wa 8000
It would be a more ROBUST sound... WA is more mid punch.
But waht about manley`s noise? It is not the quiet mic, is it?
The Silver is a quiet mic, the Reference C has a little self-noise. But, in any mix you'd never hear it.
new to your channel, thank you for the videos!
how does the manley ref compare to the wa 8000 or silver?
Had a mid range punch that’s really nice. It’s not as natural sounding as the silver. The silver doesn’t really color the voice at all.

If you have the budget go with the REF C or take a look at the TELEFUNKEN line or LAUTEN audio.@@mixedbyedd
what pop filter is that, it looks dope
JZ pop filter
What Mic would u buy between the Choose manley Mic or mojave ma 1000 for rap an singing vocals
Of those two, Manley for Rap Vocals.
If you were a country singer or soul singer I would say the Mojave. Thats more of storytellers mic.
Manley ref c or u87 ai?

You need a compressor set on maximum to deal with that
anyone else shocked that he just seemly pulled that voice out of his ass?
