    Thanks for giving this video so much love! I put a lot of effort in creating a build that really, really works. That said, please keep in mind to only run this build in Tranquil Firestorm (T0) filaments and NOT Calm Firestorm (T1). There's a massive gap in difficulty between the two!

      @@HeadCRasher666 I haven't done T1 enough to give you any direct answer. If your account is more than 6 months old, you may have a mirror to the Singularity test server. You can do some of your own tests there, or you can follow other video guides for T1 abyss and see where that takes you.

      @expherus  2 года назад

      @@lightmorrison5404 Hey, glad you and your brother appreciated my tutorial! I've never really tested Abyssal Deadspace with multiple ships so I'm not too sure. However, T1 is about 3 times harder than T0 and you will need significantly more knowledge about each enemy to clear it successfully. I can't guarantee your safety but it could be a fun endeavor to take on with your spare ISK! (or you can try it out on the test servers for the first several runs)
      I have a solo T1 video coming out REAL soon so if you want you can check that out for reference!

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад +1

      You're right, most Abyss runners will opt for Missiles or Drones at higher tiers. I think it's because the ships in the Abyss move ridiculously fast. Tracking on Turret ships seem to become a serious issue on higher levels, but in T0 Tranquil it is perfectly fine. Glad you found it helpful!

    Great build, still works well. I tried changing one of the Vortex Compactors for a Damage Control 1 & that also works really well as you kill the enemies a bit slower but the armor depletes even slower now making it even safer i think. Still have a bit of testing to do but i think the overall boost from the Damage Control 1 really helps. Also i realise that i have upgraded quite a few helping skills too of cause. Im also going to test it with a few of the other Tranquil Filaments (like Electric & Exotic) as the Firestom one has really high price on the market especially compared to the other ones. Probably skipping the Dark one as that one seems be hard work at least on paper & the Gamma one with the nerf to explosive resist is kinda bad for this ship build. Still im curious how much the 50% shield boost does. At this point im not worried of loosing the ship anymore. Of cause if you put up a small "buy order" at half price then it usually goes thru fairly quickly (because either someone just want to quicksell or someone wants your order out of the way so they can extort higher prices). Anyways great videos, very helpfull & userfriendly :)

    I've been tinkering with my own version to try and solo (or run with a friend) T1 Calm Firestorms in a Catalyst. There are better options but this ship is my favourite in the whole game. :D I'm omega and skilled in hybrids...tried out blasters, but application is a problem sometime. I may have to give rails a shot. The destroyer is just not tanky enough to fly 2000m/s into an enemy and melt their face off. I dunno, anyway, this gave me food for though. AB + Rails is more roomy fitting wise than MWD + Blasters. Thanks!

    • @expherus
      @expherus  3 года назад

    Could this be done using the hybrid blaster turrets instead of railgun turrets, or do you need to longer range weapons to survive?

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад

      Particularly with hybrid turrets, I'm gonna say you need the longer range. Of course you can make shorter range work if your skills are high enough but even then the fit you'll use will likely differ from this.
      If you were talking projectile autocannons those could be a different story as those have fairly decent falloff, unlike blasters.

    Thank you for the video. I have a question though. It looks like you are playing the gallente like an Amarr ship. I know because I make the same mistake all the time. Would the Algos be a better choice as a destroyer here? I know the tristan alone can put out easily 130dps with drones and can be done as an alpha. I'm just curious if you have a fast algos if you could do better than a catalyst. That way you can keep enemies at distance and let the drones do the talking, or am I just completely wrong on that?

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад +3

      I also encourage you to go for those kinds of ships if you have those kind of numbers. This ship's advantage is simply having the lowest skill requirements, piloting action needs, and ISK cost as possible all at the same time. I've consumed a lot of EVE Abyss content here on RUclips and a lot of it gets new players killed astonishingly often as opposed to actually earning them money. Because the ship in this video can achieve a 100% (theoretical) survival rate in Firestorm T0 simply by having enough skills to sit in the ship and have an armor repairer slapped onto it, I found it most appropriate to suggest to absolute beginners. On the other hand, if you have at least 75-90 thermal DPS on your missile/drone ship you can absolutely go for those ships instead; they just require a little extra skill training points.

The game is COMPLETELY different now, especially starting a new character and tutorial. Took me a solid 5 minutes to figure out skill training as I skipped right through that tutorial. I'm currently farming new characters (get a solid 10 mil on the newbie agents. Rinse and repeat.) Training skills up on my main while I get some cash. Old account is gone/corrupted somehow and just started a new one as I just want to play around. I can't afford to play serious this time. No stranger to dodging low sec gate camps but doing it as an alpha clone is much more difficult. Great to see videos like these. I tried a few but got blown up then just went back to t0. I habe mostly tried Amaar cruisers in Firestorms with Medium guns and around 13-16k ehp but the last one got me everytime as my tracking wasn't fast enough or my ship wasn't fast enough(I did have a prop or mirco warp). Now I am using the same build but with small guns on t0. ':D

      @expherus  3 года назад

      Very glad you appreciate my videos! I haven't tried cruisers yet but here are links to a couple pages that have official fits. Also below (just in case) is the Punisher fit I've been using to clear Abyss T1 with better success than any other Tier 1 ship fit that I could find online or in-game. Nearly max alpha skills and fair Punisher piloting familiarity recommended. After getting used to the build I was able to do 30+ runs T1 cleanly. From my personal testing, T1 is stupidly more difficult than T0, and a lot more deadly than anyone lets on. I heavily prefer only releasing content when I know it has a good margin of safety, so that's why I steer clear from making T1+ Abyss content so far...

      With a Cormorant, I've playtested it enough to at least confirm so far that it's the one Destroyer of the 4 I'll be covering that will actually require you to level up additional skills to clear T0 abyss safely.
      I notoriously take a long time to upload between videos, but in the meantime if you copy this build (the difference being you'll have one less Magnetic Field Stabilizer, but you'll have a slot to fit a Webifier) and upgrade your skills so that you have 130 dps when equipping Antimatter Charge S, that should work fine (but remember to take Plutonium Charge S).

    What about using the missile destroyer?

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад

      I ran some calculation, and you can get theoretically run an Armor-based Inferno Light Missile Destroyer fit in Firestorm starting at 75 dps. A Nova Light Missile Destroyer in Gamma would require 150 dps.
      All that to say, if you have enough skill training to meet those numbers on your Dragoon/Talwar while also fitting appropriate defense modules, I would gladly suggest graduating from this build and running with those, but it would not be my first suggestion for T0 (even though it only works in T0 since T1 and above all heavily depend on missile/drone fits)

      You can enter solo, the game just wants you to be in a fleet. You can create a fleet with yourself by right clicking your ship -> Pilot -> Create Fleet With

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад

      No, on the contrary if you enter alone technically you are fighting double the enemies and earning double the loot.
      I think teaming up could be a fun activity for T1 Abyss, as T1 is about 3-4x harder than what you see here.

    Why do conquered stations buy surveys for more than faction stations?

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад +1

      CONCORD stations are NPCs selling for the NPC price. Other stations are player-made buy orders. The orders are there so people who don't want to make the trip to a CONCORD station can sell their surveys without moving, and the player who buys them will take them to the CONCORD stations to sell for themselves.

    • @GillesOfAugustine
      @GillesOfAugustine 2 года назад

      @@expherus Sorry to keep pestering you, but I'm struggling with the terminology a bit.
      1) Is a CONCORD station distinct from a faction station like a Caldari or Gallente Navy Assembly plant or something? Or are they the same thing?
      2) Either way, am I understanding you correctly that CONCORD station npc buy orders give the best prices, and the only reason to sell for a worse price through a conquered station player buy order is if I don't want to have to make the trek to a CONCORD station?

    • @expherus
      @expherus  2 года назад

      @@GillesOfAugustine No worries, I love questions so ask away!
      1a) Yeah, CONCORD is a separate NPC corporation (they are the police force that serve High-Sec space for all 4 factions), and for the purposes of stations you can see them as completely distinct from faction stations owned by Gallente, Amarr, etc. If you pull up the map (F10, I believe) and use the top right search bar you can search for CONCORD-owned stations. Alternatively you can use a search engine to search "Station Locator" and go to [nearest ouroborus org]. You can easily find the nearest CONCORD station using that web tool.
      2a) Pretty much. Though players can open buy orders from just about any station including CONCORD stations, not sure what you mean by conquered stations. You can identify NPC orders by the 364 days remaining on the buy order. Player-made buy orders can only go up to 90 days.

      Regarding tutorials for T1 and T2, we'll have to see. I understand some viewers will naturally want to see videos for the next step up but I'm neither qualified nor focused in creating such content at this time. I'd suggest directing them to Aceface, who is wholly more knowledgeable on T1-T5.
