Not necessarily--they did just suddenly find themselves in a very strange and unfamiliar world...
And they say Avengers Portal Scene Is badass
Old European Sailors told stories of being able to just walk up to these birds and being able to step on them without resistance. They were able to do this because surviving Dodo birds had no predators of any kind on the island(s?) of which they were found on. No predators = gradual pacification
Needless to say, they went extinct VERY quickly once we showed up. Still, I lament not being able to have one as a pet.

I find the description saying that the channel that uploaded this is a BBC Studios channel to help funnd BBC programmes when the clip is from a programme by the BBC's big rival, ITV.
Although I know that's because the BBC were involved in the distribution of the show outside of the UK and the DVDs of the show. Plus years later the initially BBC and ITV co-owned streaming service BritBox, later to become solely ITV owned, but still keeping the BBC cintent, did have this show alongside Doctor Who.

Dodo is an extinct bird that was found only in my island: MAURITIUS. They are extinct due to the fact that Dutch explorers and sailors in the 17th century visited the island and ate the majority but what caused their real extinction is the rats they brought in the island unknowingly that ate their eggs and pests is another major extinct factor for dodo birds.

There was, not as many but in Season 4, I believe it’s the last episode there’s a pair of Anomalies right next to eachother that open up smaller Anomalies that jump on and out of existing.
