For some reasons this reminds me of Donkey Kong. The Primeval version sort of. Connor is like JumpMan, the merqueen is like Donkey Kong, the mer creatures are the barrels, and Abby is...Pauline. The cliff is the famous zig-zag tower from the very first stage of the game.
