Seeing a graboid and then an arachnid in such a short time gave me a serious nostalgia hit. Most of these creatures are familiar but the two I mentioned stand out for me somehow, must be the age when I saw the movies and where I saw them.
A touch that I like is you hear some of the monsters before you actually see them. The bear screaming really hit hard after seeing Annihilation twice, reminded me of the second appearance of it in that movie.
I have to say, that King Ghidorah design is amazing. This is a great stating point for asking "Okay, but why did they pick that size?" These are fictional creatures, so if there isn't a technical reason for the size, there's likely some literary narrative one. How big is "big and scary" in what context? How big is too big for a friendly creature and if your friendly creature is bigger than that, how do you convey friendliness? What is the place of comparatively small monsters is the monster movie genre, so often defined by the march toward ever bigger main monsters? Are any of the friendly monsters actually physically comparable to the vicious ones in interesting ways?

4:26 It's a Oliphant the Giant Elephant Beast from Middle Earth
i loved seeing the old Ray Harryhausen monsters and also one of my favorite giant monsters of all time, THE GIANT ANTS FROM THEM! I LOVE SEEING ALL THESE MONSTERS FROM MY PAST! I love monsters. also i like what you did with mothra, giving her the colors of the millennium mothra but giving her the head and arms of the legendary mothra. i like it.
This is gonna be GREAT!!!!
Wow I freaking love this 🤩🤩. As much I like your selection, I am already thirsty for part 2 😝😝
I didn't expect that derpy bird from The Giant Claw to make it here.
But its the size of a battleship!
Imagine all these monsters sharing a planet together.
@@geovannisoares3577 And Godzilla, King of the Monsters.
Would have been fun to see the Indominus Rex, or other Dinosaur like monsters from famous movies. As well as things like Crocodiles and Snakes.
4:25 Oh that's HanGang river creature gwoemul!

This deserves a part 2!
Thanks for adding Otachi and Leatherback 🥺 amazing video overall
I really like how you animated the different waling speeds.
Quite the diversity of source material, and an interesting plot device in the middle, when he gets into the chopper.
This. Was. Spectacular!

7:02 I'm not forgetting about the fact that Clover is still in the baby stage

Ah, yes, Spirited Away.
That's such a classic.
complete with nightmares :)
Disappointed the giant monster from the Aquaman movie wasn't here, or Leviathan from Disney's Atlantis. Those things are HUGE.
Yeees
Yeeees.

Gamera gamera
Gamera is very neat he is filled with turtle meat
We've been eating Gameeeerrrrraaaaaaaaa
Seeing them next to each other makes me realize how great a Rancor vs Cave Troll fight would be!
4:42 skull crawlers is from Kong skull island
Hey there you can
It's always surreal in these, when the sounds the creature makes are played.
the sound the exegorth makes when he closes his mouth 😳
hey god i have a question, i killed a giant lizards son then tried to kill him. am i still going to heaven?

@@WillieWillious um, UH, I Uh Also gave um........ 40... 45.... hearts? thats good right?
This was a great animated size comparison of the many awesome Movie Monster of the century.
Also I wish y'all a good day.
I always wondered how big the Kessler werewolf(An American Werewolf In London) was, it was always described as huge. I know now. That creature still scares the shit out of me, it's look, it's sound.
So glad you included Jason and the Argonauts, pretty scary at age 12. “Help me marshmallow boy, save me from the sand worms.”
Little sad to see the Octalus from Deep Rising was not on this, but I guess I can understand that only the most well known should be here, or we'd be here till the next pandemic hits.
