As someone with no massage experience, I located this muscle by pure intuition today and experienced INSTANT migraine relief. Thank you for this very clear and approachable explanation of how to release it.
This is least favorite muscle to work on. In school I had an emotional release when this muscle was being worked on me. Thank you for your video. I always have a hard time grasping this muscle on clients. ( due to tightness) I think I will try your techniques next time.
often it is easier for the client if you palpate trough the muscle between your thumb en the index finger. I find it less painful for them so it's makes it easier for them to let go. But hé, who am I? I love your video's.
Massage Rebel have you personally ever had this work done? My clients report it feels good and they are happy when they leave. Now I want this work done on myself!😊

Hi I suffer from vertigo and have read that thescm being tight could cause it. I have tried massaging it but as I put a little bit of pressure I get dizzy. Do you have any idea to what I could do to soften the muscle?
I have a number of clients over the age of 65 who could use this kind of work, but I'm nervous about working on the anterior neck on people that age. Any insight?
