One touch of uniqueness I liked was Kabuto, in how Tendo is an egotistical asshole, for most of the season...if not all of it. I haven't seen them all, but everyone I've seen has the main rider as the typical good guy, nice and willing to help, modest sorta, but polite and what'd you'd expect of a good guy.
Then there's Tendo, who comes right out the gate like, "fuck you, I'm better than all you" and makes sure everyone in eyesight knows it lol
Lol he's so entertaining - I think the tenderness he shows for his adopted sis gives him a lot of contrast, but yeah he's kind of a tool for the most part
@@Acrimony_Toku that and he does start taking a liking to Kagami, and stats to be hard on him not to be an ass, but to push him to improve. Of course it pays off for him in Zi-O
Tendo is basically a less abrasive version of Inui Takumi, who really embodies "fuck you" more than Tendo - who was never hostile about his greatness or who he was.
Yeah, if anything, Kagami is more of your typical main rider, but damn, Tendo is so entertaining!
In my opinion Kamen Rider Kuuga is the most unique given that his never refer to as a Kamen Rider, the police force works alongside him, plus it broke the mold from the Kamen Rider franchise previous story structure. Mainly make the main character a Cyborg.
Kuuga is the best and deserves a lot more praise than it should. If only toei could give it the love it deserves.

Another Honourable Mention could be Agito.
We got Analog Horror level conflict with the main character being both a dragon and a stag beetle.
Then a Police officer being a mechanical replica of Kuuga
And a literal Kamen Rider Gillman.
This is one of the underrated unique KR show.
Absolutely! And Gills always seemed like a callback to Shin, plus I love how G3 put each piece of his armor on
In no particular order.
- Riderman. The only rider who's face is not fully covered.
- Sky Rider. Come on. He flies. 😅😅😅
- Black / Black RX. The only season with a direct sequel.
- Shin. Like Amazon, brutal. His henshin is also the most unique one.
- Ryuki. A royal rumble of Riders in the mirror dimension.
- Hibiki. Props for being a rider without looking like a rider. 😅
- Decade. Alternate reality explored.
- Double. Just what we need, 2 in 1 rider. 😅
- Wizard. Kamen Rider is mostly associated with technology, but this one broke the mold. 😅
- Ex-Aid. Those anime eyes. 😅

Nice list, you could make the case that Agito is technically a direct Kuuga sequel? Even if it takes place in an alternate continuity of Kuuga

Imagine if hibiki was created as an actual kamen rider in mind. I like the oni and music theme. I wouldn't change too much from the current design, but it would be interesting to see the changes.

Apparently Hibiki was not supposed to be a Kamen rider which is why it is so different than everything else. Also Great video Love to see all the work you put into them.

False. Hibiki was always meant to be a Kamen Rider series, it not being one is a long debunked rumor that comes from the 2005 timeslot originally going to be an original tokusatsu. When Toei realized like three other companies were going to be making their own kids toku, they didn't want to lose market space and decided to keep going with Kamen Rider.

My fav seasons have been Ex-Aid, Geats, Wizard, Saber, Revice, and Build. Also, Kiva was my first KR series and remains as a special season in my heart.
I love Kiva! I rewatch it every year around Halloween lol

I loved Kamen Rider Kiva. It was like if someone made "Blade the Vampire Hunter" into a Tokusatsu series. I also liked how the protagonist, Wataru Kurenai, was very unique in that he was unlike most of the Riders who came before AND after him. He was very meek and soft spoken, your garden variety shy guy, as opposed to the confident and passionate types like Gentaro Kisaragi and the stoic, standoffish types like Inui Takumi. Yet despite his lack of social skills, he's as dedicated to fighting for justice whenever he henshins.
I really like this perspective - I think because Wataru was so soft spoken, when he henshins into the imposing and evil looking Kiva suit it's such a huge contrast! Thanks for watching!
Kiva is one of my favorite Heisei rider seasons! It's such a fun and unique show even though the final arc really drops the ball

Gaim probably had to be the most unique to me with its fruit samurai gimmick.
And then Geats upped the ante by turning the Kamen Rider gig into a game show within a TV Show.
If Hibiki went darker than it was, like Amazons(the recent one). Hmmm, I now wonder?

its funny how subjective the idea of unique is. Like Faiz is definitely more unique to me, being one of the first designs that wasnt Bug coded. or how it was one of the first to use current available technology for the driver. Ryuki having a much more global theme of designs from knights to ancient egypt, and the sheer number of riders present, but also starting a gimmick that we would see echoed out to this very day with Gotchard, Cards. but really they are all super unique in many ways. I do personally feel that Faiz, Ex-aid and Hibiki are spots 3,2 and 1 respectively if i were to make a list. but so much of that is based on design elements, and not actual show experience.
That's pretty true about the subjectivity involved - In total I feel like the franchise has done a really good job at differentiating one season from another ( for the most part ), and overall done a better job of that aspect than Sentai. I didn't think about those aspects of Faiz but very true. Thanks for watching!
I feel as though Kamen Rider J should get an honorable mention, too. If the info from the Shotaro Ishinomori biopic was accurate, Kamen Rider was conceived through the idea of, "A hero that can compete with Ultraman". Then along comes J, a Kamen Rider with the same kinda power his franchise rival possesses. A power that hasn't been repeated since. Sure, there are some large imposing mechas like Excalibur from Saber or the Giant Melon Armor from Gaim, but nothing like J.
Yeah he's definitely the closest thing to an Ultra in the KR universe!

Decade is number one in my opinion since its the only Kamen Rider show that had the idea of Parallel Universes and introducing the Riderverse as I call it.

I think Den-o is a unique one. Mostly because it was humor focused.

Gaim is easily one of my favorites, but oh man, when the concept was announced. "Fruit, dancing, and samurai.... Omg totally makes sense!" 😂😂😂

My favourite Kamen Rider would be:
1) Ex-Aid. It was my gateway to Kamen Rider. I like it for the video game theme but also because it’s about team healthcare professionals who are connected to the patient for different reasons.
2) Kamen Rider W because the concept of the 2 in 1, one happened to be brain and the other is the fighter. Also the Dark Noir theme
3) Kamen Rider Fourze because of the space theme and the villains being based on the Zodiac. Also, the villains were the teachers.
4) Kamen Rider Build for it using Physics to fight the monsters.
5) Kamen Rider 000 for the main character alone.
6) Kamen Rider Kabuto. Although, there are times I realize wanted to smack him because of his ego😂😂😂😂

@@Acrimony_Toku actually, I realized that Kamen Rider Den-O is my favourite because of the storyline and the acting. I like that the train is time travelling machine, how Ryotaro, Yuta, Airi, and Hana are all connected, Hana being Yuta and Airi’s daughter and Ryotaro’s niece who trying reconnect to her timeline. The tragic love story of Yuta and Airi. Sato Takeru’s performance as Ryotaro and the imagins when they take over him. The guy can act. He’s playing five different characters.
W is unique not only in that it has the 2-in-one rider, but also that the GaiaMemories take after the Wisps from Sonic Colors.
But the most unique was Dragon Knight, given it was an attempt to localize Kamen Rider,
Havent played Sonic colors, but W is definitely very unique, and one of my favorite seasons too - and Dragon knight was definitely a better localization attempt than Saban's masked rider, being that it was actually watchable lol
I'm not fan of Kamen Rider, but I've seen most superhero taisen movies but the thing I don't get is how come there's only small riders throughout history while Super Sentai has 40+ teams?
I agree for the most part, but Ryuki, Saber, Gaim, and Geats have a ton of riders so those are probably the closest that we have lol - Thanks for watching!

Gaim was actually pretty dark, as the stories were ripped straight from the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Adam and Eve and the Garden, Abel and Cain, etc. It was quite a bit more than dancing fruit.
Hibiki wasn’t even supposed to be a rider, which is why the beginning is so different from the end. Kinda sad about the shift, I would have loved to see where they went with the original. Hibiki was my first Kamen Rider, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Yeah Gaim does have a pretty dark tone for sure but I think it somehow stays pretty approachable and charming, tough to pull off. Good to see some Hibiki love, there's so much potential there for a reboot/ continuation IMO. Thanks for watching!

KAMEN RIDER SABER IS REALLY UNIQUE....BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS CALL THEMSELVES "SWORDSMAN" instead of Kamen rider.....always jogging from point A to Point B.....#kamen JOGGERS 🏃♀️➡️🏃🏃➡️🏃♂️➡️🏃♂️

@@Acrimony_Toku I said I’d knock off Saber because Kamen Rider Blade already did the sword motif and did it better. Compared to that, W was truly the first of its kind in the fact that two people formed 1 rider and the USB memory gimmick, and Build’s unique setting definitely gives it more of an edge in terms of uniqueness, imo.

Really? Fourz it pronounce as four-ze not fourz
Yeah in Japanese pronunciation ( and even that is dependant on how much you annunciate the vowel sound of ゼ, because since it is spelled フォーゼ instead of フォーゼー , there isn't an indicator to extend the vowel sound at the end of the word in the kana spelling), but in English I've heard it pronounced both ways js. And if we base pronunciation off only the Japanese pronunciation than A LOT of English speaking Toku fans would be pronouncing things wrong, like W, and every Sentai that ends in "ger". Like " hey its NOT Gokai-GER it Gokai-JA" lmao. In English we tend to drop the final vowel sound when there isn't a "ー", we don't say Geatsu, or Rebiseh. We say Geats and Revice, despite how it's pronounced on the show.
