- I wanted to hear what current Cloud's voice would sound like alongside the old Zack voice.
EDIT: This is in no way to disrespect Zack's current voice actor, Caleb Pierce. I think he did a wonderful job with Crisis Core Reunion, Remake, & Rebirth.
The Cloud VA really gets across Cloud is just 16 at this point
True, and at the end when cloud wakes up and sees zack is dying, his voice is deeper because he’s not a teenager anymore, which I think is a nice touch
this makes me smile so much. i love steve burton but cody really makes you realize cloud is just a innocent kid here. works so perfectly with rick gomez as zack

She doesn't sound like Tifa Lockheart to me at all, she doesn't sound anything like the previous actresses who did the voice: Yuko Minaguchi from Ehrgeiz, Ayumi Itou and Rachael Leigh Cook.
Rachael was already perfect enough for the role in the English speaking language.

Thanks for doing this. Really needed this. Missed Rick Gomez’ Zack so much that Reunion felt unlively.

if someone could just make a mod of this game with Zack’s voice replaced with Rick Gomez’s and keep all the rest of the new cast I’d be so happy. I’m just disappointed with how Caleb’s performance was in this game and it really took me out of a LOT of the important scenes like this one.
i think there is a mod out for that.
there is a mod now! i used it as well during my playthrough. though i will say it doesn't help too much, because in the original game only 50% of the voicelines were voiced anyway. but i still enjoyed hearing rick for iconic scenes in my playthrough.
Good news from rebirth, caleb does a great job here! Maybe its because theres less to compare him to, but hes really selling zacks vibe here :)

to be fair to Caleb, square listened to his performance and thought it was good enough, so this is really on square
I rather keep Rick Gomez, George Newberg, and the original voice actors of Angeal and Genesis in this game. This will be much better.

It's best Square Enix used archive audio for the remake as I thought prior to release.

the thing is those two towns are quite close to each other with just Cosmo canyon in between. If anything, they should not how backwater the other one is
I think Cody sounds way better in this game than he did in ff7 remake but I still prefer Stever Burton.
Crisis Core Cloud and VII Cloud are *very* different people.

Is there a mod to replace just Zack's voice? Pretty content with or even prefer the new actors...but damn that new Zack voice just sticks out that much worse because of that.
At least he's tolerable in Rebirth...but still not winning me over.
While Rick is my Zack especially in crisis core. I feel Caleb matches Reunions model of Zack more than Rick. What I mean is that Reunion's model Zack looks way more angsty that compliments Calebs voice. While the original CC Zack looked sharper complimenting Ricks voice.

@ethanbailey1956 Steve never got the chance to do young cloud. He's better for a more mature cloud but if he had the chance, I bet he would fit.
Remember cloud is a country boy. Steve has thar country boy tone that is slightly conveyed when he does clouds voice. All he has to do is just lighten his voice a bit and add a bit of innocence to the character and you have what we would hear here, except it would be Steve.
@Steve played his voice in the old crisis core? You kinda admitted that Cody is just better at adding depth?
@@theplatdream26 dude never said anyone was better, he prob meant that the voice director didn't make steve try to make his voice higher and more childish like cody did.
