    Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
    Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
    I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc

    You know Lonnie I am glad that you don't work out of a little Inn in Vermont because I would be worried you might say this is my wife Connie and this is my other wife Connie. I know this will never happen because your other brother Darryl told me so.
    The information you provide may seem simple and basic but you have a great way of delivering good information that is not a joke and is really helpful.

    Good demo especially in the wind. It shows people that they can do it too.

    If you put your adjustable knot on the tarp end (as opposed to the stake end) you won't get as wet if you need to tension your tarp in the rain.

    Great looking camp Lonnie. What type of tarps are those? They look like thin, light nylon almost like a parachute. Where do you get them and were they expensive? Great looking country! I love those mountains!

    • @Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival
      @Far-North-Bushcraft-Survival  5 лет назад +1

      The two end tarps are 8 X 10 foot nylon and the middle green tarp is a 12 X 12 foot nylon. I think I got them all at a physical store called "Sportsmans Warehouse" many years ago. I also used to order occasionally from an outdoor products catalog store called Campmor. Campmor is online at it's name plus dot com. They have a good selection of nylon tarps including these sizes last I looked but I have not ordered from them for many many years so can not recommend one way or another as to their current quality of products or service.

    Cool stuff Lonnie! I’d try it if I had some dirt. I’m in Whitehorse and Carcross for 5 days. Windy and unsettled over in these mountains, too! I’d be weary of cooking in my tent in bear country, but I seem to remember you run a bear fence. Take care over there!

    It reminds me of the tarp setups that we used when we went to the lake in the late 50's and early 60's. There were always three to five families of us who would always camp together. We all had motor boats, so water skiing and fishing were always on the itinerary. I was really good on the Slalom ski and I would do all kinds of tricks, like skiing with my foot holding the ski rope and skiing holding the rope in my teeth. None of my other three brothers ever did anything challenging. I loved crossing the boat wake and jumping out of the water without crashing on landing.

    Hello,
    nice Countryside! I like that view!
    Thank you for sharing this technik with us!
    With that knowledge, the building of ancient saxontents make sense. In that way, you could build a tent out of 3 sails...and it looks axactly like the tents on old pictures.
