    Hey Rico. Awesome set of boards. Im curious how you actually spliced the ring light. Did you splice both ends to run to the controller?

    I’ve been looking at doing this for a while now and have been struggling to figure out what to do with the lights. The epoxy won’t ruin the LED lights? What is the oldest set and how long have the lights worked?

    Is it important to use waterproof led lights..?

    • @ricohernandez2394
      @ricohernandez2394  Год назад

      Hi Antonmayer!
      Thank you so much for watching, and thanks for the question. I have used waterproof and non-waterproof LEDs, and they both work. However, I do like working with the non waterproof LEDs better. They are easier to work with. The waterproof type have a thick clear plastic over the top of the whole strip…
      And if you have to cut the strips you will have remove the clear plastic covering to access the soldering pads.
      I hope this answers your question…
      Have a great day!!
      Rico

    using the LED lights you recommend will they light up when the bean bags hit the board?

    • @ricohernandez2394
      @ricohernandez2394  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Pat,
      Thanks for watching and thank you for your question. The LED that i used in this video will NOT light up when the bag hits the board. These LED were connected to to a arduino and it was programmed to light up when vibration is detected on the surface.
      This video
      ruclips.net/video/Dxkv4CdcfWs/видео.html
      uses an LED strip that detects sound and the LED will light up when the bag makes a sound by hitting the board.
      Here is a link to an almost identical LED stip that i use in the build.

    • @ricohernandez2394
      @ricohernandez2394  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Postskeetclarity.
      thanks for watching and yes..you are right...
      if a repair is needed..you are pretty much out of luck to make a repair since the LEDs are in resin.
      thats why it is soo important to test test test...and make sure your solder connection are good.
      I have made a number of these boards and I have never had the LED strips fail. I have one set that is almost 3 years old and its still operating fine.
      thanks again for watching my video..i hope you make a set of your own!

      @@ricohernandez2394 I understand Rico what you mean. my experience with putting LEDs on my roof edges for permanent lighting lead me to understand the importance of having accessible repair but yeah you’re right especially that these things are not like roofline edges to where you gotta be up on some ladder. The boards will still work. I would buy them off of you in a minute.!
