DICKUN Hey dude Tom here! I mixed this one and recorded it together with max on the drums. First of all thank you. The microphones we used are the following: Beta57 on snare AKG C451 B as Overheads Beta91A on Kick. Sennheiser e604 on Toms They are mixed quite normaly. Compression, some highend boost and room + plate reverb on the snare, some compression, basic Eq and a tiny bit of room reverb on the kick and finally a huge Low cut and more Eq and some limiting on the Overheads. Toms are mixed with a ton of eq and compression + some room verb. Everything going to a mastering chain using the slate grey compressor and a izotope maximizer.
Fantastic job! I’ve been trying to learn exactly how you are playing this and it’s taken me two days just to reach 1:10. Your placements of ghost notes and the bass is making my head spin, but it sounds so good! I’m gonna keep at it, but if you have any helpful tips to make my efforts less painful, please let me know! Lol
