so I cant transfer links from same skill gem to a higher-level same skill gem? So use a gem I wont use & roll that till 4 link then transfer to the higher skill gem? I'm confused
Kind of sad the way they have the xfer. Just 5 linked blades of death on a new skill but cannot xfer old to new. Yeah, i can upgrade the levels but then i lose the rare upgrade on old skill. Not worth doing that. Guess i'll wait to get a magic and another rare upgrade. A lot of wasted time there in the wait.

So now I am stuck with it at 3 link and have been levelling another WW rune in my bags - finally got a 4 link but its white and also not levelled up :( So you are saying the best practice is to hold off on making main skill runes we are trying to link - magic quality? Can these materials that up a runes quality to magic / rare be found as monster drops ?
Interesting discovery I found today. If you transfer a lower level magic skill on to a higher level one for the links, it keeps its levels. Pretty useful since I had a ~lvl 6 5l normal skill and I wanted the links on a skill Id already made magic (lvl 26), and was sad that I would have to relevel, but I just went ahead and made the 5l magic and was surprised (and somewhat distrustful) when the bench said the skill I was transferring to would keep its level, but I risked it and it did!

AH. Yes there is an item from alchemy for that. It changes the direction of it randomly. Its called Trigger Rune Change Essence. It uses x5 Alchemist Stones and x500 Rune link essence.

No. Once a character has completed all 10 acts, it flags the account as having completed it and things like free skill transfers become null and will cost you across all characters. This is to prevent the exact scenario you're talking about of people trying to bypass the game system. RESPECS for zodiac will still be free for acts 1-10 on new characters, but any system that can be used for stuff that impacts characters account wide(like rune transfers) their progressional effects are shared.

what do you mean "you can't transfer it to blue skill"? It's right there, it's offered to you by the game mechanic itself. It's on your screen literally. edit: unless you meant you can't transfer it to MAGIC rune from a WHITE rune. But isn't the dot in the bottom left corner more obvious to everyone?! I come here to videos like these to learn something and you people just keep confusing me and I have to go and do everything myself to learn how it ACTUALLY works. In this case "the blue rune" is not the blue rune but magic rune.
Something not covered in your video. If you are rolling Rune Birth Essence on a skill gem, pay attention to the DPS listed on the gem. If you pay attention, you'll notice some rolls make the DPS burst up to a 2nd level putting out more DPS. SO if you're target is a 4 link there's 2 versions of it. One with a higher DPS amount and one with a lower DPS amount. So after a couple rolls you'll know what the high DPS amount is and the low DPS amount is. So if you're target is to have 4 links on the skill gem make sure you get the 4 links with the higher DPS amount.
Sounds more like a visual tooltip bug. Would be a very illogical design, especially when considering 6 links. Its more likely the connecting and unconnecting of certain links while you have the skill slotted.
@@ZZav I agree that it could be a bug within Undecember. It's not the most polished game I've played. However, when I've been doing this with my skill gems I move it away from being linked so that nothing is linked to it. Try this yourself. Move a skill rune away on it's own and watch how there will be a higher DPS version that it rolls on occasion. I'm not at home or I'd provide you screenshot proof showing what I'm talking about. It can happen at any link number so you can buy a generic rune and test this out and watch it happen. I am personally using Spread Shot. Try that rune if maybe it's not doing it on another one you try.

how do you change spell on hit ruin link direction? default a straight diagonal, some ppl have it bend to one side.

have they patched the muktiplayer yet. so we can play with friends. man they need to fix that asap. such a good game. thats holding it back.
