I met one of the factory reps at a vendor event here in the US recently. Being a long time fan of Opinel we talked shop for a good while. I had my 1950s era edc with me (pre lock). Bought the neat little spoon and fork set, and she gave me a keychain model No. 2. Really nice people and knives.
Same 🤩 Got the No. 08 in beech wood, oak, olive (the regular, the slim and the black blade), walnut, padouk, ebony and all 3 colours in laminated birch.. I missed out on the 08 with forged blade and ebony handle, hope they will make more of those! 🤞🏻
Thanks for sharing this factory tour with us. It was really enjoyable. A No. 8 (I may have a few to choose from 😂) is what’s usually found in my pocket - it’s hands down my favorite pocket knife.
Bacon and Mushroom Risotto! My girls and I love these knives. My oldest daughter just got the 12 and I got the #2… we seem to be able to come up with a use for each size! Thanks for taking us on such an amazing tour… definitely going to add that to our bucket list!
I love the French classic Cassoulet, cast iron on a wood fire. Canada goose when it is available to me. Thanks for the tour, I hope to see it in person. I bought a lot of their knives in Paris at their store, my EDC is the opinel mushroom knife.
My recipe of choice would be the Bacon & Mushroom “Risotto” it’s on my to do list when I can harvest mushrooms in the spring. (Yes I already have the mushroom knife ready to go form Opinel lol) thanks for the chance!
This video entered my RUclips feed because I just purchased six #8 knives as birthday and Christmas presents. Very fair price for excellent pocket knives. I will be buying more.
Oooo can’t wait to watch! I wish they had the picnic kit work with the peeler too…. Then I could have a no 8 and a peeler to prep with and a fork and knife side by side to eat with…. A man can dream!
Got my first Opinel folding knife in the very early 1980's. The perfect picnic accessory! 🥰 One recipe I want to try is Cashew Chicken. Based on ingredients, a bit of instant rice or ramen noodles on the side sounds good too! 🥰
Cool video , it was very enjoyable and interesting ,from the pretty hostess at the factory to the cool interaction of the owner and yourself, and the nice recipe at the park . 👏👏👏👏🤩

Creole Pasta Love there #8 with the "picnic kit" I think they call it with the spoon and fork you can "insert" and retain with the lock ring. Edit: I see you did end up showing it later on in the video.
I love Opinel knives and was very interested to see how they were made. Thank you. However, I was disappointed how you Americanised this recipe, as though Americans were your only viewers!
Hey L. Glad you enjoyed the tour. And all I did with this version of Ratatouille is make easy to cook up outdoors in a camp pot. It's the same ingredients in any country. Cheers!

Beef jerky fajitas! I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this before. There are many meat and flavor options that can keep it fresh each time.

I like modding my opinel knives....I've even added a pocket clip before!
why not, wish i would have thought of that.
Opinel makes a great knife for Cub Scouts or GS Juniors. The blade is easy to open, doesn't snap open or shut, and the ring lock is very intuitive.
love it

Most generic boring knife related video ever made
Why do people think being a complete dick to a stranger is cool, or acceptable behavior?
Most boring and generic rude comment ever made
@@BrokenBarBox I just thought it was too short, I wanted more knife footage! That is my usual feeling seeing knife vids.
just letting you know , the face on the videocover made me wanne not watch this video ...
Just so you know, being a dick to a complete stranger is not cool. Please work on that, k?
What a wonderfully charmless comment - you must be so proud.
Why would you feel compelled to be so rude to a total stranger?
