    I watch a lot of Forged in Fire in the U.S. They flatten out the billet, and then cut it in pieces with a grinder, restack, and re-fire. This dude just puts 2 divots in and folds it upon itself while still in the automatic pounder. Next Level!!!!!

      The hammer on FIF is a toy in comparison. I don’t know why that show doesn’t invest in a real hammer like this. Would be much better to watch. With this kind of hammer you can weld just about anything.

    Very skilled workers and a remarkable product. I regret that knives made in Asia have not got a good responce. I noticed during profiting the blade they were heated on the belt sander to the extent that the blanks got black, in places. Perhaps keeping the temperature lower by dipping i water would improve the quality of the knife.

    • @chapiit08
      @chapiit08 3 месяца назад +3

      That's before heat treatement, so it's of no consequence.

    • @feg0067
      @feg0067 25 дней назад +1

      @@chapiit08I see that you understand heat treatment very well 😄 🙈 of course local overheating and bluing to blackening of the blade even before hardening is bad, because the crystalline lattice will be broken and there will still be a soft spot in that place after clouding and if it is close to the blade, the blade will fall out in that place and make a tooth

      Zpětná vazba

    • @chapiit08
      @chapiit08 24 дня назад +1

      @@feg0067 I own one of these knives, no problem with edge retention and no chips. For the price it's more than ok. And I do know a thing or two about heat treatment. Too much vodoo in it by people like you when there is not.

    Very Well done ! i do think the shape of the handle is slightly unconventional , but that’s okay it’s certainly a Owners preference on a Custom Fabrication I’m a retired Woodworker (retired ) and over the years i got used to using traditional Shaped Handles instead of manufacturing or shaping my own ? Oddly enough i actually have small hands and probably could have benefitted making Custom handles ?

    I have a couple of these knives. Mine are smaller, for UK legal reasons. My knives come from a company called Perkins. The blades are only 70 mm/ 2.5" long. They cost me £65 each. Looking at these attractive, full sized knives, I would expect them to be more expensive.
    Who wouldn't want one?
    They do the job they were made for.
    I just hope that all those fellows get a decent wage, though, I doubt it!

    In this excellent video, there is a missing link, which is the method of engraving the back of the knife from the beginning of where it is attached to the wood. I mean the zigzags on the beginning of the back of the knife. Perhaps this is the secret of the profession, but something remains mysterious.

    Amazing! All of them have two feet and two hands with five fingers each. No masks, no globes. Industrial Security is an unknown concept there! They are amazing in take care or we are stupids! But is good to see everybody is OK! Wonderful work!

    Gee, they love using those highly abrasive grinding stones to burn the living crap out of anything steel they make. Even after they supposedly "heat treat" the blade. They hit a few more times and then acid treat it before they put a false edge on it. If you're buying one of these, you're going to have to pull it apart and heat treat the blade yourself to make it usable. Or it's just a pretty paper weight.
    Save up and buy the real thing by a company that just makes knives, and makes them right.

      They only use the best car bumper steel for these.

      @@fredbecker607 You're missing the point. Plus, it doesn't matter what steel they use.

      They are, particularly considering their price.

      No they are not. Many blacksmiths would freak out seing how they heat treat those poor unkown steels. Even at the end of the video you can see the guy is struggling cutting a tomato and an eggplant. These guy may be skilled, but the knives they do can't be consider "good quality".
