Oh how I miss these movies. These movies were made with heart, soul, love, and wanting to make people feel better, more positive, and fill the hearts with love and hope.

These types of sentimental movies will never be made again. Everyone is too cynical and negative these days. I believe we have given up much more than we have gained.
I love this movie!! I watch it all the time! I love how their beloved maid explains how she is needed and not at all sad how she lost her riches, she is home with those who truly cherish her.
Beautiful film. Thankyou for sharing. I wish they made films like this nowadays, meaningful, pure, clean and full of good sentiment, something the whole family can watch together ❤

@@rebecarebeca2275It’s a matter of believe. You seem to believe in this. I don’t. I am an atheist. I have worked 8 years for the protestant church and 9 years for the Catholic church. Now I am finally free, not that I ever believed in any of it. Church and religion are about power, money, brainwashing people and lowering a women’s status. Every religion seems to be obsessed with women’s hair, or at least the men who think they are the speaker of those religions are. Muslims have to cover it, they pulled out the hair of Indian women to punish them until they were bald, Catholic nuns have to cover their hair, many Jewish women have crew cuts and wear very expensive wigs… Bit strange how I am an atheist and I seem to live a better and happier life than most very religious people do, who spend many hours of their days feeling bad about themselves. In Germany where I live, more people are not religious than people that belo g to any church. There is a reason for that.
This movie reminds a bit of Its a Wonderful Life, similar character actors. Strange twist & unexpected turns. Entertaining, with interesting beauty standards.
Starring Maria Ouspenskaya a Russian actress born in Tula, Russian Empire in 1876. She studied singing in Warsaw, Poland and acting in Moscow, Russia. She was a stage actress and the first founding member of the first theatre studio in Russia. It was called the Moscow Art Theatre and traveled all over Europe. When it traveled in 1922 to New York City, Maria Ouspenskaya decided to stay there. Over the next ten years, (1922-1933) she performed on stage in Broadway Productions. *She became an acting teacher as well, and instructed Lee Strasberg at the American Labratory Theatre. Lee Strasberg would go on to instruct Marilyn Monroe, and become her personal acting coach on all her film set locations, even living with her. In 1929 she founded the School of Dramatic Art in NYC, along with Richard Boleslawski. *One of many of Ouspenskaya's students was a young teenager by the name of Ann Baxter. All though she played in a few Russian silent films she stayed away from Hollywood, preferring the stage, and working as a dramatic acting instructor for inspiring actors. *When she experienced a financial crisis in the 1930's, she was forced to find ways to supplement her income. In the 1930's she opened up the Maria Oouspenskaya School of Dance on Vine Street, in Los Angeles. *Her pupils included Marge Champion the model for Disney's Snow White. In spite of her Russian accent she did make many feature films for Hollywood in the Pre-War Era, and during WW2, playing characters of foreign European nationalities. Her first Hollywood Role earned her a nomination for the Academy Awards for best supporting actress in the 1936 film Dodsworth. (Her onscreen appearance in that film was one of the briefest ever to garner a nomination.) In 1939 she received a second Academy Award nomination for her role in Love Affair. Her acting career took off notably landing her roles as an elderly figure playing parts of baronesses to Romanian gypsies. She kept busy landing roles in over 10 films with all the major leading stars in Pre-WW2 films, and during the War Years of WW2. One of those films was Waterloo Bridge in 1940 filmed in England during the Blitz on location. She died tragically in 1949 from a stroke at age 73 after a traumatic house fire, when she reportedly fell asleep with a lit cigerette. She's buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Beautiful movie, that’s what Christmas is all about …. LOVE and FORGIVENESS …. The love which binds and holds us together through life’s journey, through good and bad times, God’s LOVE is eternal….how humanity has strayed away from the simple truth of it….may God have mercy upon our lost and misguided souls 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Fun Fact: the ghosts were not created by double exposure, but by filming "Pepper's Ghosts", the same tech they use in the Disney parks Haunted Mansions.
Not quite halfway through, loving it already, and I just have to comment - this is a great plot, and certainly something different than the usual, the usual Christmas move or any kind of movie! I can't think of any film that features structural engineers, let alone the idea of engineers becoming ghosts.

My favorite, Christmas movie, of all time. Thanks, for colorizing an original print, of it, not the commercially available print, re-titled "Beyond Christmas", which was colorized and re-edited, with scenes removed, so that they could get a new copyright, for it. Disgraceful!
Boy, wish I could hear better! I have never heard of this movie. Great cast, plot and the young lady remjnds me of Celine D. And thecolder lady, I expected her to say, "Even a man who is pure of heart . . . ". Same actress, I am sure.
Towards the end of this movie, a family event occurred which created much irritation but the ending of this movie helped calm me down…..lucky for my child 😆
I guess the woman who used to have furs and jewels and everything and lost it all and he gives her as a present after all that lost he gives her the one thing that must be for her equivalent of one of the most wonderful gifts of all a fur and I don't know if it's a stole or code I can't see it until he puts it on her but it's the kindness of giving her something so expensive into her she knows it's expensive now cuz she's no longer a countess she's their housekeepers from what I can tell or cook I can't quite tell but he gives her a gift that blows her way and you can see how appreciated she is.
