In my experience when the stock springs are fully broken in you can get the same kind of flex as the red ones. The red springs are more easily bent, but will give you the flex right away. If your TF2 is the RTR with the R4 single speed, the RC4WD Z-S1851 delrin high clearance skid plate will get you the most ground clearance. If it's the kit with the R4 2 speed it will cause the front driveshaft to rub on the transmission, you will need the RC4WD Z-S1777 high clearance transfer case mount. I know this because I have an RTR and a kit.
That transmission just catches on everything, I bet the LWB version is even worse. I wonder if a plate and longer screws over the top to change the angle will help.
Nice mod Brent, I may need to get some of those springs for my TF2. Yeah that trans mount needs to be changed out on mine too, someone once called it a boat anchor!
The springs were a great mod, but that transmission skid is utter bafoonery! How would that ever get by the engineers? Hey guys how are we going to make the skid plate? How about instead of a skid we make a unidirectional hook?
Hi there Brent, wow, that is so limiting of RC4WD to place in the design a section of the central gearbox system, that acts like an anchor. Great filming, best wishes, hope you’re having a happy Easter 😊😊
Yeah, one of the reasons I have not gotten on of these trucks is the high price and laundry list of problems you have to solve to make them good. They look stunning but seem too frustrating and upgrade hungry for my taste. I am glad the springs helped out a lot. I hope you can find something to help with the land anchor designed skid plate... LOL!
Nice dude!! With the motor up front and the softer springs. Wonder does anyone make a delrin skid for that? That would be a great seller. Then you could lower the check too. I mean the challenge is it’s more like a 1:1 truck. You managed to crawl it very well!
You still have to go over roots on the trail I'm addressing the transmission clearance not its rock crawling ability I have Axial vanquish element Traxxas gmade losi rc4wd cross redcat and Tamiya crawlers so run them all and love them all but every crawler/trail truck has issues to be addressed
It drives a guy crazy just to watch it. I can only imagine how frustrating driving the darn thing. Break out the Saws-All. lmao I would have to deal with that as well. Maybe a sculpted piece of Aluminum shield for it. lol
To be fair , rc4wd never claims most capable , they claim how realistic their products are. I have the TF2 rust bucket blazer , love the truck but I didn’t buy it for it’s crawling ability
I didn't expect it to be a competition crawler just have have enough clearance to make it over a tree root lol all sorted now and if you haven't seen the rebuild and paint love this truck

Amazing video nice sharing
Thanks for visiting
The springs are awesome. Now you need a new skid plate. 🤔😉.
Great video and happy Easter Brent.
Thanks, you too! Dirk my friend

Thank you Malcom I have been looking at options just have to decide on one
Great work keep it up👍
Thank you, I will

Course is looking good Brent.. happy Easter
Thank you very much you to Thad
That look amazing! 😊👍🏼
Thank you very much

Lol yeah a land anchor for a transfer case mount was a interesting choice 🤣🤣

Thank you John exactly I don't understand their thinking on that lol

Thank you Addam they do take a bit of upgrades fortunately I got the truck for 300 so it makes the upgrades more bearable
awesome spring upgrade and cool crawling
Very nice 🙂👍
Thank you very much
Very Cool Upgrades and naice info and tutorial
Thank you very much
@@AdventureTimeRC You're Welcome🐼
That’s a very awesome looking rig. I needs a rc4wd rig now. 😎😎😎😎
Thank you definitely a cool rig
👍👍👍👍
Definitely see what you mean about the trans mount brother
Nice dude!!

That would be a great seller.
Then you could lower the check too.
I mean the challenge is it’s more like a 1:1 truck.
You managed to crawl it very well!
Yes actually they make a whole new mount thank you for watching
Wow that really is a design flaw. Course is looking sweet bro
I will own one of these one day.
I run my marlin on dirt mountains and rocks never noticed the transmission but now ill never stop looking at mine lol
Lol I never noticed till I ran it on the course
@@AdventureTimeRC I bet lol
In its defense it is a scale trail truck hence the name Trailfinder. If you want a rock crawler go with a custom built Axial or Vanquish.
@@AdventureTimeRC I put the Bowhouse transfer case mount on all my TF2 trucks. Makes a world of difference.
It’s disappointing the transmission mount is like that, especially for the cost of their rigs!😮
It does look awesome though!👍😊
I totally agree!thank you very much Jeremy

Lol it's definitely frustrating I am going to be fixing this issue very soon thank you for watching Nick
BowhouseRC has some good parts for the TF2
Thank you for the tip

That's interesting. Easy fix.
how much weight do you have in your tires?
