What about taking off the wood trim from the doors, that have peeling paint, and working on them outside or in the garage to keep the mess out of the house.
I recommend that you drywall your bedroom, because hours and hours of steaming and scraping off all of those wallpaper layers is not worth your time or scrapped knuckles.

The clock was absolutely drop dead gorgeous! All that carved wood is amazing. I am sure the kitchen will look perfect with your style and vision. I love a breakfast nook. It seems so old fashioned and cozy. When you showed the chess board... it reminded me of something I could see you implementing. They took a chess board and a collection of glass and crystal salt and pepper shakers as the pieces. Salt on one side of the board... and pepper on the other. The king and queens were pewter or silver taller shakers. The visual was so unique. Would look so good on an antique sideboard with other decor.
I think that clock case was resin and not wood, she didn't say, but was made to look like carved wood. They probably made a thousand at a time from one mold. It is a nice carved look style but I it's hard to make a modern clock look old when it says QUARTZ across the front. 🤣🤣

The wood pieces that you didn’t know the origin of, they appear to be Black Forest wood from Switzerland and Germany. Husband and I collect these pieces!

Love your finds!!! Just a word of advice, be really careful with a heat gun. I've seen many old homes go up in flames from people using heat guns to remove old paint. Just be sure things aren't getting too hot, transferring heat deeper into the walls. You definitely have some big projects to tackle but I know they will be beautiful!!

I used a heat gun to strip the wood in our old house. It was so much easier than stripper. Still had an odor but the paint came off dry, didn't have all the mess of the stripper. (We also live in Ks)

Love the chess set and the “molding shell” especially! My dad, who sadly and suddenly passed a year ago, had an apartment on the lower lever of our home. He has an antique phone and a little antique chair in one small corner of the apartment. It’s very dark there and there’s no access to a power source. I’m thinking we could put a small shelf built from molding above the phone and finally give that corner some light, just like Daddy wanted. Thank you for this idea❤ I’m always excited to see your videos❤ They’re beautiful and you are such an amazing inspiration! We also desperately need to redo our kitchen, UGH! Wish we could both fast forward and be done with them without having to live through the mess!

I love the night stands you bought. I have similar ones I inherited from my grandpa. The hardware is oval with detail on side of drawer. I actually have the whole bedroom set minus mirror. I’ll treasure the set always!❤

That trim is at lowes, I just trimmed out a wine cabinet with it. Love the perfect items you find.
I love the narrow shelf with the detailed trim - it reminds me of the pew shelves for our hymn books when I was a kid. Same wood and style.

Plaque looks like it came out of a church at the front which tells you what page the hymns songs are on. Called a HYMN BOARD.
I already commented but I was thinking you would love IOD,they have the best molds and transfers. They have so much in your era and so easy to use and you us air dry clay for the molds or resin,hot glue,food.please take a look I think you'll love them.I have them all and the transfers so good.

Great treasures. I would do an inexpensive facelift on the bedroom before starting the kitchen. You will need a nice escape during the remodel.

Just my opinion, I would do the kitchen immediately - those black hinges ….. makes you wonder what people were thinking - and I’ve never seen a stove right next to the frig like that - I know it will be major but i know you will be so happy to have a beautiful kitchen - the bedroom can wait ! Also, I have to say, if you would post more often, you could really have a good business going with your channel - people get a little frustrated when they really enjoy a channel, but there is no consistency & too much time in between posts - even if you had to have a part time person to help you, I think it would be well worth it - I think you could double your subscribers quickly if you just dedicated yourself to even just one video a week - just saying …. It’s only my opinion, but you are one of my favorites & I wish you would put up more content - greetings from sunny Central Florida 😎

I will be right along with you for a complete top to bottom kitchen renovation. We have 1960s drawers that drag open and closed and shed saw dust down onto the clean pots & pans stored below... among other more serious issues. I *dread* having everything torn apart and being displaced potentially for months but it will be so worth it in the end and hopefully be beautiful/ready for hosting well before the holidays come around again. Your ideas are lovely, can't wait to see how it comes out... good luck! ✨️🤍

I actually bought the cream organic shaped dishes that you have in your kitchen mood board - I love them! I bought the large and small plates, large and small bowls and one serving bowl- these dishes are so beautiful. I have mixed the with my China for a different setting- gorgeous. Highly recommend

The paint that is peeling on the trim could be because they painted with latex paint over an oil based paint. The same thing happened to me because we didn't even think about the trim being oil paint since our house was built in the 1990s.
Hmmmm, it’s just wood underneath but it could be the sealer on the wood that it didn’t agree with!

Aww, thank you so much!! I’m so glad you loved the prints!! I believe the video you’re thinking of is the antique bed! I used Restor-a-Finish on it! It’s a great option for disguising small scratches and dings but I have heard if you ultimately want to sand and refinish down the road it isn’t a great product to use as a temporary solution. Hope that helps!! ❤️
My guess is that those 2 wood pieces that match were from a bed. Headboard and footboard

I saw a video where someone used duct tape to remove paint from an old door. Maybe try that on your trim since there’s only one layer of paint. Worth a try since it’s not messy lol
